Anyone Use Lortab Liquid For Post-Op Pain?
piercedqt78 replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Most pharmacies can flavor liquids for a small fee. I know wal-greens does it for about $3. ~Mandy -
We were married Oct 28th 2000. I agree that Oct is a great time for a wedding. We celebrate our anniversary in Wald Disney World every year. We have a 5 year old so we also take a family trip there in the spring. It is a truly magical place even with all the kids, there are tons of adult things to do there. However some friends went to Hedonism last year and are already planning another trip there, they LOVED it. Best wishes, on the upcoming wedding and future together. My best advice is to always talk about EVERYTHING no matter how small or unimportant, talking is good. ~Mandy

no good news here. I did see him today but he ran away before I could even think of catching him. He was in my neighbors yard. So at least he is still close. I think he might be trying to find his food dish, but he wouldn't come to me. We are going back out tomorrow to look some more. My neighbor has a dog that he loves to play with so I am taking him with me tomorrow, maybe that will entice him to come to us? I'll update later, I have walked all day looking. ~Mandy

The "NEVER HUNGRY" thread - post here if that's you
piercedqt78 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I used to hate thin people that would say, Oh My God I forgot to eat. I never forgot to eat pre-band. Now I am one of those people. I will be getting ready for bed and realize I have not eaten a meal all day. I try for 3 meals a day but most days it is 1 meal and a few high protein snacks. I am also struggling to get in my water everyday. I am never hungry but I know when I have to eat, I get a bit shakey and dizzy. Or I will hear my tummy growling. So put me on that never hungry list....~Mandy -
Co-worker oddballs? Nightmares? Dreams come true?

I worked with a guy that never showered and he picked his nose. We were both dept managers so we had to work on pojects together he was horrible. I finally refused to work with him when I discovered that he was eating day old chinese food that had been stored in his desk. He was just too odd for me. I could deal with the smell and even the nose picking, but the smell of day old chinese food from a hot desk drawer was just too much for me to take. There was a rumor that he had a mail order bride, she was russian, beautiful and spoke no english. He took a 3 week vacation to Russia and came home married. What do you think? ~Mandy -
I only have a quick min to post. I want to thank everyone for the compliments, I try my best to be a good parent. Someday's are really hard. Please keep my puppy in your prayers, he escaped last night and we have not found him yet. I have called animal control and both local shelters with no luck. I did manage to RUN over a mile after him last night. hooray for me, but still didn't catch him. He is totally affraid of people, so I'm not sure if anyone will be able to catch him. So please say a quick prayer for us to find him safe and sound. ~Mandy

Warm Water in the Morning per Doc
piercedqt78 replied to derbygirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a cup of hot tea each morning, a little splenda and some light cream or milk, yummmy. I have always indulged myself a few quiet moments each day with my tea. I get up 15 or 20 mins before everyone else needs to be up and have my tea. If you open my pantry right now there about 20 kinds of decaf tea in there. I love Earl Grey, Lady Grey and my current fave is orange cranberry. (a fall special) I also like pumpkin tea when my local pumpkin patch has it. ~Mandy -
I am the reason that they cover the railroad workers. You have to appeal appeal appeal. Take it to an outside review board. You have to be denied 3 times and then they will go to an outside review. I was told that it is almost always covered when it goes to an outside review. The outside review looks at the medical reasons, not the compaines policy. If you have any questions PM me, I will help if I can. ~Mandy

Could you have succeeded without the band?
piercedqt78 replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did atkins and lost 91 pounds in 11 months, I gained back 104 in about 10 when I started eating carbs again. Thanks to the atkins, I developed High Cholestrol and it wasn't comming back down. I had my band done a little over a year ago and I am down 75 pounds. I have about 20 to go but I am doing it and I really believe that the weight will never ever come back. I could do it but couldn't maintain it. I love my band....by the way second thoughts are totally normal (I almost ran the day of surgery) . ~Mandy -

I joined Weight Watchers today...
piercedqt78 replied to La_madam's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Michelle, just make sure you are getting enough protein. I'm happy that you have made this decision and I just know it will work for you. My MIL lost 45 or 50 pounds on WW, she actually had to increase her points because she was 5 pounds under her goal. It took her about a year, but she still counts points, that's how I know about applebees offering the points on several of their dishes, she loves going there. ~Mandy -
Pics of the wedding Kel, not the honeymoon. I know you are a total hottie now but somethings can be kept private.... ~Mandy

I also know that applebees has a weightwatchers section on the menu, they have the point totals all printed and broken down for you. ~Mandy -
Patty, insurance can make one go totally nuts, keep fighting, it will happen for you. Also I have a special needs child that also suffers from depression, if you ever want/need to talk let me know. I can give you a call, I have unlimited long distance and am always willing...just let me know. Cindy, have you looked into a local beauty school? They often do parties, updos, nails and make-up cheap. Just a thought, I know that when I was in school there were loads of parties and we loved doing them, the girls were always so much fun. I need to take new before and after photos, the one I have looks really bad. I was recovering from foot surgery so I am standing funny. Maybe I will have my DH take some this afternoon, I just colored my hair and I am going for a new cut today. I was in the mood for a make-over. I am going to Disney World in just 23 days, I can't wait. I need this trip, this is the trip that DH and I take each year without the little one, she stays with my mom. I have some amazing dinind plans made, we got a package deal with free dining so I can order what ever I want and if I don't eat it all, I don't care. There is a lobster platter that is just calling my name. I would like to be 5 pounds lights by the trip, not sure if it is going to happen but I am certainly trying. I have to work Market Day today, and then we have open house tonight. We are trying to put Abigale in a regular classroom, so far so good. We are in the process of switching her seizure meds, and they are going to take her off zoloft and try resperidol (sp?) for the anexiety, depression and behavior issues. She is on soooo many meds it is hard to keep track anymore. The depakote made her gain so much weight the neurologist took her off of it and started topamax. It is a gradual change so in the next month or so we should see some of the weight come back off. She gained 11 pounds in a year. She went from a 4t last year at the start of school to a 6x or 7 this year. Everything is too long and I have to roll the sleeves and pants legs but that is the only way things fit her tummy. The neurologist knows about my weightloss surgery and he was very nice about my concerns over her weight. At 5 she is already 60 pounds and only 45 inches tall. I'll keep everyone updated about her school progress, we are starting week 3 today. Also she just had a complete psychological evaluation and a cognative skills function test. We will have results in a week or so. Keep us in your prayers...~Mandy

Sounds crazy but if I knew tomorrow would be my last day ever, I would sit down and make videos for my daughter. I would explain about sex, boys, life in general. She is 5 and I would still want to be the one to give her those talks. I would also write her letters for graduation day, her wedding day and the day she has her first child. I had a cancer scare 2 years ago and I started writing those letters to her, it was sooo hard. Everything worked out ok, but I wanted her to still grow-up having mom there for guidance. ~Mandy

Now only 4 more days.....I am so excited for you. We had a very small wedding and it was very casual. For our 10th I want to renew at Disney World, just us....I'm going to check in on you every day. Just for the record my wedding went smoothly. It was small (75 or so guest) and everyone had a great time. I put disposable cameras on the tables and got some of the best pics from those. I just asked that they use them up and leave them on the tables. I had them processed with doubles and then sent the pics of the people to them in the Thank You cards. It was a blast. ~Mandy

There is an awesome dvd of all the school house rock made by Disney. My daughter watches it all the time. It has them all. ~Mandy

Maryb, those were going for TOP dollar on Ebay last year. I want one but not for the money they were going for last year. I put up several trees each year and that would just be the top of my list. I have a barbie tree for my dd, a family tree for homemade stuff, from my dd and from our childhoods. Then I have a victorian (burnt orange and pale green) themed tree, it is my pride and joy. I will post pictures at Christmas time. I pick and move stuff all the way up until it's time to take it down. I am a christmas tree nut. I love decorating, I also go all out for Halloween. ~Mandy

I was told a portion of meat is about the size of a deck of standard playing cards. That is between 3 and 4 oz. I eat meat about 4 oz then veggies then carbs if I still have room. I usually have about 2 bites of carbs before I am full. The meat and 4 or 5 oz of veggies fills me up. I can't eat whole kernel corn, or crisp broccoli, my veggies have to be slightly over cooked. the extent of carbs are mashed potatos, or cooked fruit. I can't do pasta, rice, bread or fried potatos at all. I eat off of a bread plate or saucer, never a full sized plate. Hope this helps. ~Mandy
