no wheelchair for me, I told the doctor that the cast would have to be something I could walk in. He agreed. I can't sit for that long and I am a big kid when I am in the parks. I love my podiatrist (sp?) he is just the best. He called in a favor so I can get an ultrasound before I go so we can know for sure what is going on. There are some bigger problems, but they can wait until I get home. Basically in the last 3 years I have lost 10% of my bone mass in my feet. I have to have a bone density test while I am there on thursday. He is concerned that my being on Depo and eating less is contributing to the bone loss. I guess depo causes women to stop absorbing calcium, so now I have to find another form for birth control. I want my tubes tied but my insurance will not pay for it. I am getting ready to fight that too. My week has just been long and it's only tuesday. Last week Abi started a new med for ADHD and it seems to be working well for her so now I feel guilty for going to Disney without her, even though I took her for 10 days in March. My reasoning for her not going is that she was impossible to keep up with, she always had to go potty just as we were boarding a ride or entering a show. She never wanted to eat when we had reservations and she wanted to wander off when she didn't like what was going on. It was a very stressful 10 days. I need some time away, but now her behavior is totally getting better, but I have already booked, payed for and packed for this trip. I am already planning our family trip for next year and of course she is going. We do 2 weeks as a family and then dh and I do a few days each fall just the two if us. I am hoping her meds continue to help the way they are now, she would be great in the parks being so much more calm and not so anxious. I will check back in later. I am getting ready to work at the library at school. ~Mandy

congrats....a baby is such a joy to have in the house. I love the way babies smell, new, fresh and clean. I have a 5 year old and somedays I miss the quiet moments of the wee hours, just the two of us. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade her for all the babies in the OB ward, but I miss the sweet smelling snuggles that you have to look forward too. ~Mandy

I could have done a desk job in 3 days. I had surgery on Thursday and could have done "light duty" on monday. I took care of a 4 year old all weekend after surgery. I had more gas pain then actual pain. ~Mandy -
Kellie, congrats.....rain on a wedding day is really a blessing. It rained on my big day also and I don't think I could be much happier. We are celebrating 6 years next month. again, congrats. ~Mandy

We eat at the table and the TV must be off. It is in another room but I don't even want it in the background. I was raised that meals were to be shared by the family and that was for family time, no tv no radio, it was food and family time. I have enforced the meals at the table and every now and then we have snacks while watching tv but not very often. I may be old fashioned but my daughter is proud to say that she eats dinner every night with family. ~Mandy -

I can sorta relate. I didn't get rid of the couch but I do insist that every meal is eaten at the table. That was always a rule growing up and now it is a rule here too. ~Mandy -
Glad everything went so well. Take it easy, you may feel like a million bucks but you still need to heal and that takes rest. (((hugs))) ~Mandy

I was allowed any liquids, including citrus, after 10 days, each doctor has their own post-op diet. ~Mandy -
I have the same experience as Anwyn, my band opens up more in the late day. If I gulp anything in the morning, it comes back up. I can actually feel the liquids hit my band and then come back up. It is in fact my band that is tighter in the am. ~Mandy

Darcy, Here is the site, it can be very addictive. Cheap, nice jewelry in nice pouches. I love everything I have from there. http://www.silverjewelryclub.com/ ~Mandy

I am so sory for your loss. Consider getting another dog, not to replace this one but to help fill the void in your heart and in the house. Consider the local animal shelters, there are always tons of dogs needing loving homes, like the one your old companion had. Again sory for the loss, it is never easy to lose a friend. ~Mandy

Jenna, it looks like you were expecting to still have the old padding catch you. You are looking very thin by the way....~Mandy
