    Catheter for guys??

I would know because a cath always means a UTI for me. I have had 4 caths and each one ended up with a bad UTI. That and I asked. I think it would be in pretty bad medical practice to lie about something like that. ~Mandy

    Catheter for guys??

I was told that as long as I went before surgery I wouldn't need one. I made sure to hold it until the nurse was there to see me go so I didn't need one. I was told that if I needed one it would be started after I was out. ~Mandy
  3. I see Dr. Brian Lahmann and Dr. Joyce at Silver Cross Hospital. I love the entire group there, they are all very caring and sweet. ~Mandy
  4. I didn't care for him or the staff at MIBC. I had surgery at UIC and they were great there. But he only does fills at MIBC and he refused to bill my insurance company. I found a doctor that is closer, more compassionate and he works with my insurance company. Someone in my current doctors office told me that Horgan moved to CA. Seems strange to just pack up and move and not warn your patients or offer them a referral to another band surgeon for their continued aftercare. This news makes me so much more confident in my decision to change doctors. I would be pissed if I called to see him and he was gone with no word at all. ~Mandy
  5. Someone just told me that Dr. Horgan is no longer in Chicago....is that true? He did my band but not my aftercare, I didn't care for the way I was treated after surgery by him or his staff. ~Mandy

The prayers and kind words mean more than you guys could possibly know. He is resting right now, but was up and eating a little while ago. He is almost 9 but was obease most of his life. We adopted him 3 1/2 years ago and helped him lose weight. He is an amazing cat, he used to play fetch, give paw and he would actually bump noses with me when I would request a kiss. He is a friend, a companion, a playmate to my Abigale and a baby to me. He loves to cuddle, and sleep just under my chin so he is breathing my breath. Sometimes I joke that he was my twin in my former life. We have the same attitude and are both sleepyheads. He will leave a huge void in my life. ~Mandy

My little doggie is spoiled rotten as are all of my pets and of course my daughter. Today is my DH b-day, I am making a roast and a carrot cake for him. He worked until 8 this morning so he is sleeping and me and dd are preparing food for when he wakes up. It has been a sad few days around my house, my senior cat is slowly slipping away. He is not in pain and seems to be eating and drinking ok, but he hasn't moved from the same room in almost 4 days. We relocated his litter pan and food and water so he could stay put and be comfortable. We prepared my daughter for his death today, that was really hard. We tried to explain that he is old, and has lived a very good life. He has been with me through my wls, my gall bladder and both foot surgeries. Never leaving my side. It is hard to say goodbye to a companion like that. He is like a child to me, and I don't know how I will cope with day to day without him. I have fought tears for days and today I let them out and they just haven't stopped. Unfortunatly I think tomorrow will be his final day, I think the vet is going to recomend putting him down, and I will because that is the only fair thing to do for him. Please keep me in your prayers, my little guy is going and he is taking my heart with him. ~Mandy

Sherry, try gas-x or tums gas relievers. I was also told that bean-o works but I haven't tried that. I do chewable gas-x and it works. ~Mandy

That is too cool seeing Movie props in person. We did some of the Narnia props at MGM and that was cool. Do you know about mousesurplus on Ebay? They sell actual theme park signs, and ride and show props. They just auctioned off a ton of Pirates stuff from World and they also did the 20,000 leagues props. I was sad to see them all go, I loved that ride. I always cry during the opening song for Magic Kingdom and the morning dancers on Main Street. I remember being a kid and holding my dad's hand and watching that exact same show, it hasn't changed a single word in the 35 years they have been doing it. My Dad has sinced passed and that is one of my fondest memories of him. I can't wait to get the book info. I will see if my library has the two that you mentioned. I love to read all things Disney. I am a fan of www.allearsnet.com and www.disboards.com both are great Disney sites with cool information. I also love www.mousesaver.com ~Mandy

Has anyone died from a lapband?

There was a woman several years ago that died after recieving the lapband. She ignored problems such as dehydration, and malnourishment. It wasn't because of the band, but because she ignored many warnings to get help. ~Mandy

I have not read Mouse Under Glass, I would love a copy, how much are they? I thought I had read all things Disney. I have never been to Disneyland but have always wanted to go. We were planning to hop out there this fall for the Halloween party with some cast members from the World, but their plans changed so we ended up back at WDW for the long weekend. I was born and raised in Jacksonville FL so only about 2.5 hours from World, that was a part of my childhood that I will never forget. I wanted to instill the same type of memories in Abigale. She loves walking hand-in-hand down Mainstreet with her Daddy and sharing a Dolewhip with mom. Everything is cool to her too but she loves the quiet moments waiting for fireworks or prades adn snuggling in our laps while watchng Wishes, singing right along. That is the most perfect moment ever if you ask me.....~Mandy

We stay in the values, there is limited room service but that's fine with us. We are up and out to early to order food. We stay in the "all Stars" they are just regular sized hotel rooms with a Disney theme. On the way to the bus we grab a coffee or a juice at the food court. Then we have a coffee later in the park if we want it. We are out of the room by 8 most mornings and not back till 1am or later most nights. We are there for the parks, not really to be spoiled. ~Mandy

We try to go at least twice a year. We go for 2 weeks in the spring and then for a quick 4 day weekend in the fall. The spring trip is different every year but the fall trip is based around the Halloween party. That is a must do for every Disney fan, that has always been the best time we ever have. I could talk about Disney all day....~Mandy
