    November chat...again....

Here is a picture of my new little man. He is 3 years old, and a total lover. He is a hemingway (polydactyl) and just the coolest big guy (about 25 pounds). We discovered after we got him home that he has a Mickey Mouse shaped spot on his back, I will post that next. ~Mandy

1 1/2 years post op and struggling

Keri, it's nice to see you back here. Dr. Horgan did your surgery right? You know he is gone now? If you need a referral I can give you the name of a great guy in Joliet, just pm me. We are planning a luncheon again in Shaumburg next week, wanna come? There is information in the Illinois forum, under Illinois friends I think. How are things other than the band issues? Did I mention that it's really nice to see you back here. Hope things go well with the fill appointment. Please stay around this time, (((hugs))) ~Mandy

    November chat...again....

Sherry, you are in deed dreaming. They want a report from her neurologist, our health insurance pays for it, we can't go until Dec 3rd, that is when she is due for a medicine check anyway. She has what they are calling word drop syndrome, she knows what she wants to say, but the word escapes her. Sometimes hours later it will hit her and she makes a very loud annoucement about whatever it was. For exmple, they are testing letters, shapes and colors. The teacher points to a shape and the kids have to identify the shape by name. Abi knew what the rectangle was, could tell the teacher it qualities, but couldn't remember what it was called. 15 mins later during storytime she raises her hand and tells the teacher it was a rectangle. They believe this is more neurological then learning disability. Who knows, I have to talk to the Neurologist. They are going to start working with her as a "guest" in the special ed group, but that might only be temporary. I was told that they would work with her "as needed" until we can set something in stone. I will keep everyone updated as I get info. ~Mandy

We did the IEP today and guess what? It's being postponed for another month. The school wants to get yet another report from th neurologist. Abi has an appointment with him on Dec 3rd. They are saying they believe her problems to be neurological in nature, not sure what exactly that will lead to, we shall see. I am off to start dinner, with the house guest and my 17 year old niece, it's gonna be a hectic night around here. I'll try to stop back in later. ~Mandy

beanie, are you going to be like Vinnie in My Cousin Vinnie, with the train aking him up at 4am? Glad the accident was minor, sucks but at least you weren't hurt. Hope the rest of your week is safer and more restful. ~Mandy

    RE-USE of the FILL NEEDLE

Run, as fast as you can. Sounds like this guy is crazy. If he has other patients complaining and he is just now ordering needles (why are these not in stock?), sounds like the patients fears and concerns are not important to him. Please call and ask for Don Mills at Inamed and let him know what is going on with this practice. ~Mandy

I am open to most times/days. I have something going on the 12th but other than that I am free. Who's in? I say we give until the 11th to signup, and then we plan for the 18th or 19th? ~Mandy

    November chat...again....

My hubby had to retun to work the day after my surgery, I did a ton of recliner napping. My worst time was getting up after sleeping all night, he was able to help me out of bed before leaving for work each day. I thin you will be ok, make sure he has at least the day of surgery to help all day. I was not only alone the day after but had my 4 year old to care for. We were fine, I took pain meds to help me sleep at night and liquid tylenol for the days. I had minimal pain, and would say that most people have about the same experience as I did. I have a shopping list, if you need it. ~Mandy

I'm in Romeoville but don't mind to travel. We did something downtown last time, it was a stir fry place, you build your own mixture and they cook it for you. Veggestyle, you would be welcome pre-band, last time I brought my gastric by-pass friend. Also husbands are welcome. I will need to know if kids are coming so I can plan a kid friendly place. Any suggestions on where to go? I just don't eat pork and I know that Veggestyle doesn't do meat. ~Mandy

I love the fruit cups, they make a perfect snack, frozed strawberries and peaches, they also make great smoothies, add some protien powder and some ice, yum! Another thing that is popular at my house is the lasagna roll-ups, I add a can of 3 cheese spagetti sauce and bake, top with some mozz cheese and dinner is done. We have meatballs with this, but they are not in the roll-ups. They are individually frozen so they are perfect for band sized meals. I love Market Day, did you know they are the same company as Sara Lee? If you have a sara lee store near you, most have the MD products in stock now. ~Mandy

    November chat...again....

I am here, just losing my mind. School has been hectic. Yesterday was parent teacher conf, voting at the school and Market Day pick-up. Do you guys have Market Day or is that a Chicago thing? It frozen food, good stuff, you order and it is delivered to school, we have a set pickup once a month and the school makes 10% of the sales. I unload the truck, take inventory and we put the orders together so the parents can just pay and take their stuff, it's a crazy 2 hours. I did all that yesterday and also took the doggers for a short jog. She was so tired she went to bed at 8:30 and didn't get back up until 7 this morning. I am getting ready to work in Abi's class today. Then I have to do more laundry tonight. I still have ahouse guest, he decided to go out with friends after work last night and didn't come home until after 11. it's a good thing I love him like a bother or I would have locked his ass out. I as tired and wanted to go to bed, but had to be up to let him in, he didn't even call. I know now I sound like a mother. We have our IEP meeting tomorrow. I am starting to stress a bit but am sure all will be fine. No new tattoos for me this week, make next week, if I am lucky. I'll ba back tonight. ~Mandy

I have asked several times about arranging a get together. If you are interested please let me know. I will gladly make reservations somewhere fo us to eat and have a party type room to sit and talk. Let me know if you are in, really in, I did this last year, had several people say they would be there and it ended up just being 2 members and the people we brought with us. ...~Mandy
