No I didn't know about Lahman when I had surgery, I used a doctor downtown, he is now in CA. I was treated poorly so I went looking for a new doctor, and found Lahman. The whole staff there is great. I live in Honeytree, near R.C. Hill. ~Mandy

I am able to split the 100 calorie bag with my 5 year old dd, and it is enough to stop the junk food craving. Not bad for around 50 calories. ~Mandy

Lala, what's AVM? I haven't been here that long so that's not something I am familiar with. I love Doc Lahman, he is my aftercare doc, and he did my gallbladder surgery last feb. He's the greatest! Tell him Mandy said Hi!! ~Mandy

He is much bigger than my Oreo, she is 19 pounds, he is 25 or 26. A bit overweight, but Oreo is working on that, the two of them are running around like monkeys. My friend says we should call him Milkshake, we have oreo and he could be milk, but he is a bit thick so milkshake. Not sure what to name him. He has had a really hard life. The family that he was taken away from lost their kids to DCFS, and the home they were living in was being foreclosed on, so they moved to a shelter and left him behind, locked in a bathroom. He was there a month, being fed only 1 or 2 times a week. Animal control came in and took him away in a crate. When he arrived at the shelter he snapped at the vet and animal control person. He was deemed aggressive and not good with kids or other animals. He was going to be put down, when the group that we got him from got involved. He has been in foster care for about a month and has really come a long way. The only aggression is over a crate. We simple got rid of the crate and he is great. We were told that he will try to take your hand off if you reach into his crate. So I put him in the kitchen when I am out and he is fine. He is 99% housebroken and he LOVES Abi and Dave. He is starting to play with Oreo and couldn't care less about the cats. He is so laid back and calm, where Oreo is a nut case. They really will be good for each other I think. ~Mandy

I was under the impression that he was the rich and powerful....~Mandy

Here is the new baby....his name is Barley, but he doesn't answer to it at all. Anyone have a better name for him?

Happy New year all. I slept in the new year....I was sooo tired, I just couldn't stay awake anymore. It's 11:20 and I am still yawning. I have been MIA for a few days. We took a 3 1/2 hour road trip and adopted the sweetest, most lovable doggie...He is a 5 year old Boston, just like my Oreo, and my DH just fell in love with him. He is from a bad situation and needed a great forever home. He is upstairs sleeping with DH as I type. I promise I will post pics later today. I also have to take and post pics of me in my Disney jeans, but as I went to take the pics yesterday the batteries in the camera died. I will steal them from the remote and take pics today. Be back later~Mandy

Just pick yourself up and begin anew. That is the wonderful thing about the band, it is there waiting for the time to be right for you. ~Mandy

I was allowed coffee with no cream on the liquid pre-op, same for liquids after, I was allowed to have cream on the whole liquid phase after. I'm in Romeoville, not far from Channahon, who is doing your surgery? ~Mandy

I can't do breakfast foods at all, but will gladly have hat tea or coffee. Where is central for everyone? I can travel, no problem. ~Mandy

There are rumors that Osama is dead, kidney failure I believe. Who knows what is true and what is false? There are soooo many lies out there in the media. I for one am glad that Saddam is dead (and I am aware that he did not cause 9/11), he was a horrible man, that tortured an entire nation. Those that were under his rule were dancing in the streets when he was pronounced dead last night. ~Mandy

What is good for everyone? I would love to plan something like the texas girls are doing, they are meeting at cracker barrel so they can have lunch and coffee. Then sit and talk and drink more coffee. Sound good to everyone? ~Mandy

My fills are done under flouro (only way the ins will pay) and I love to watch the screen while it's being done. ~Mandy

That's about what it looks like for me too, except I am all red from the freeze spray. There is almost no pain at all, just the weird sensation of the port being manipulated. ~Mandy

I gained a pound or two, but have lost it all with this horrible flu. My mom gave my family the flu, she lost 8 pounds with it, I only lost 4. I am back on the food track today, I started my day with a low sugar oatmeal, and I am having a 7 bean soup and grilled fish for lunch. ~Mandy -
Morning all, I survived the night. I was up every half hour or so but I made it til morning. I am still sick, but not as bad as yesterday. Maybe this is a 48 hour thing? I'll check in later. ~Mandy

Hi all, my mom gave the gift that keeps on giving. We all have the stomach flu, I already had the regular flu, now I am nauseous and have the runs too boot. I took zofran to prevent vomiting but still feel lousy. I had some chicken soup, I am hoping it stays down. I will check in tomorrow. Night all ~Mandy

I was on "whole liquids" for 5 days, then mushies, then solids. I didn't have a problem moving to more solid foods, I was hungry. ~Mandy

I was told after 5 days, but to take it easy, if it hurt stop. ~Mandy -
Oh, a room full of guys that are getting buff???? Where can I go to lurk there? ~Mandy

My friend has the same problem, only hers is stress induced. She uses a product called H2Ocean, it is canned sea water that has been purified. SHe swears by it. The only place we can get it here is tattoo shops and Hot Topic, it is sold for aftercare for body piercing, but works great for skin problems. Hope this helps. ~Mandy

I also have the cheap wal-mart version, and love it. I make salsa, guac, and protien smoothies in it no problem. It cost about $12 and also have a blend and go feature, with a spouted lid. I have used it for almost 18 months with no problems. It is the perfect size for just me, but not big enough to make smoothies for a family. ~Mandy

Pressure changes. My daughter brought a balloon on the plane when we returned from Disney last spring, when we start to ascend the balloon popped from the pressure change. I am assuming our bands also are affected by the pressure changes, but they will not pop. ~Mandy

I am sitting here reflecting on all of the times I have been on the ledge and ended up here at LBT and you guys were always there, even when logged off, your words were here to comfort me. I am thankful for my LBT family, even the trouble making ones that spit on my cookies. I'm looking at a new year filled with hope of meeting my goal, and being able to share everyone else watching the scale drop. You are my sisters, my friends, my band family. I love you all. ~Mandy
