I'm not familiar with Naperville, are there any good places to eat there? I too am closer to naperville, just not sure what's there. ~Mandy

It's a long drive, but it's worth it to save your band. I would hate to see you have complications and still have to make that drive, only sick or dehydrated. (((hugs))) this can be a tough journey, but it is sooo worth it in the end. ~Mandy

I can't believe I'm going to say this...

The aloe works wonders. I had the same issues a few months back and lived on egg drop soup, and thinned yogurt for 2 weeks. I had to have a slight unfill anyway, but letting my pouch reat helped. The doctor also mentioned reglan, it's a script that helps the stomach work better I think. Might be worth looking into. The unfill helped me, so I never took it. ~Mandy -
Wheetsin, send a $1 payment to the AO, then they cannot put you in collections as you are attempting to make payments. That will hold them off until the Ins company can get their heads out of their collective asses. ~Mandy

3 days post op and still no poop!

Warm apple juice helps when things get backed up, also prune juice. I was told the warm apple juice is ok during the liquid phase, prune juice may not be as it is not clear. It needs to be 100% apple juice, unfiltered is better but not nessary. I'm almost 18 months out and still do the warm juice thing on occasion. ~Mandy -
I'm not Dr. C, but it sounds like you are too tight to me. I went through that, it took almost a week for my fill to "kick-in" and when it did I was unable to eat anything more solid than yogurt. I had a tiny bit removed and found my sweet spot. Don't risk hurting your self or your band, don't stay too tight. ~Mandy

I loved Pirates of the Carribean:Dead Man's Chest (Love Love Love Johnny Depp) Cars (could they have picked a better band to do Life is a Highway?) even though it was 2005 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (can't wait for Order to be released) Abi saw Polar Express for the first time this year, she loved it. ~Mandy

We have decided to stick with Barley for the doggers name. He is being a total brat, he has decided to mark my house by peeing on everything. This must stop. I am going to petSmart and getting some enzyme cleaner, that should stop the problem. Other than that bad habbit, he is a a begger. If there is food out he is looking for a bite. Yesterday he took a beef jerky out of my hand and then spent the next few hours locked in the kitchen for his crime. I finally took down the tree, Dave threatned to start cutting out red hearts for valentines day. (he did that a few years ago) I am what some might call a procrastinator, really I just think things through before leaping into them. LOL. Be back later, I have a friend coming over, maybe I can talk her into taking my pics in my new jeans. ~Mandy

In one sentence: The best thing I've experienced since being banded is....

being able to play in the floor with my daughter, and being able to get up without help. ~Mandy -

Chicken salad was a mushie on my post-op diet. I am almost 18 months out and I still crave chicken salad. I had it today for lunch I was also allowed to have pureed chili, very watery mashed potatos, thinned yogurt, and thin pudding. Hope things improve quickly for you. The pre-op and post-op diet are hard. But the band is worth it. ~Mandy -
I don't think it hurts at all, my band doc numbs the area, and it is a quick stick and it's over. My first fill was quick and simple. Don't get frustrated if the first fill makes no difference. It took me 2 fills to feel any difference at all. Fill #3 made to too tight, and I had to have a partial unfill. Take it easy, relax, it will be over before you know it. Let us all know how you are tomorrow. ~Mandy

Either place is fine with me, I am not far from Naperville. Does that sound good to everyone? ~Mandy

I am in IL but have Highmark through NJ. I was told my walter lindstrom that highmark is tough to beat. THey denied it and called it experimental. It was an exclusion on my policy. I fought and won because I had the option of BCBS or United Health Care through my hubby's employer (Union Pacific railroad). United Health care covered it and bcbs didn't, the union is under a nationally negotiated contract and the law says coverage has to be fair and even for all employees. I complained to the union and they got involved and I know of at least 3 others with highmark that have been covered. When I started the appeal I was told that a snowball had a better chance in hell then I did for coverage. 6 months later I was having surgery. It was covered 100% and all of my fills are covered also. It is possible to fight and win...don't give up, there is hope. ~Mandy

Let's say the 13th? Lunch around 12:30? What's a good location? ~Mandy
-
I fought them in 2005, it took me 3 appeals and just before we were going to outside appeals, they approved me. I got my husbands Union involved, that helped I'm sure. ~Mandy

If the table won't hold anyone that heavy how are they going to do GBP? There are several super morbidly obese people here that have the band. Some started with BMI's of well over 50. ~Mandy
-
How is lunch on sat the 13th or sun the 14th for everyone? If we can get a date nailed down finding a location is simple. ~Mandy

That sounds odd to me, have your doctor provide a letter explaining why the band is a better option for you. Make sure that the letter explaines that the proceedure is safer, with a smoother recovery time. There are a multitude of reasons that the band is better for you, have the doctor make your case is a letter. ~Mandy

My gallbladder pain was always central, the doctor claimed it was heartburn at first. ~Mandy
-
After ins approval, you should be set to go. I believe they do a pre-op diet, and the surgery. I would say within the month if your and his schedual allow. ~Mandy
-
I had the exact same symptoms as you. Everything seemed to affect me, and then other times I was fine. It was my gallbladder not functioning, detected by a hidascan. My pain never returned after the gallbladder came out. ~Mandy

I am having surgery on the foot the 17th. I am up for any date, let me know what is good for everyone. ~Mandy
