I have a few, my first one is the cheese sampler at Le Cellier in EPCOT at Walt Disney World, it is a selection of 3 cheeses, on crackers and topped with various toppings. One is blue cheese, with rasberry something or other, I only eat the blue cheese, then there is a brie with olive mouse (I have olives but this is devine) then there is a goat cheese, I can't remember the name but it is a nice salty cheese, with a nice oak flavor...heaven on a plate. The next is from the same place... it is a Crab and Salmon Timbale - Smoked salmon layered with Canadian rock crab, Mascarpone cheese, and citrus syrup. Oh good lord, this is good... Last but not least is also at Disney, only in the Magic Kingdom, it would be a Hot Dog from Casey's, they have the best all beef dog on the planet. I will have one without the bun when we go, it's not the same but still Damn good. I have a side of chili and chop the dog up and have it like franks and beans, topped with a touch of their spicy mustard and some kraut. Top any of these off with a Dole Whip and I have had a really good day, because 1, I'm in Disney and 2, those are the things that make me feel like a kid again. ~Mandy

After about 6 weeks I was able to sleep on my side or stomach with no pain at all. I actually discovered this by rolling over in my sleep and waking up panicked, then realized I was fine. ~Mandy

4 wks now: eat & drink together?

The pain in the should should be almost gone by now. Also I was told 6 weeks before I resumed exercise. Maybe that is part of the problem? Are you doing too much too soon? ~Mandy -
4 wks now: eat & drink together?

I'm not sure what the source of payment has to do with giving up drinking with meals. My insurance paid for it but I still gave up drinking with my meals. Drinking with meals is a bad idea, with the band. It slows weightloss, can stretch the pouch and can cause nasty PB's, which can lead to slippage. Who paid for the band doesn't change the rules. ~Mandy -
I had a mixed drink about 2 weeks post-op. It was a friends b-day and I just sipped it over the course of about 3 hours. Now I will have a drink here and there, but I too feel it quickly. For super bowl I had a pomegranate martini and even though I took it slow and had food with it, I was too tipsy to drive home. Even 2 hours later, I ended up getting a ride with my mom and going back for my car the next day. If you are going to have a drink, make sure you have a ride or someone else to drive you home. Also make sure you are not taking pain meds with the alcohol. (I know that most people know this, but it never hurts to say it) Other wise, Cheers. ~Mandy

Can you eat peanut butter, yes or no??
piercedqt78 replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can eat it, but not on crackers. That seems to make a big plug for my band...UGH! When I get a craving for something sweet I have a spoonful of no sugar added peanut butter with some fake honey on it. (the fake honey is made with splenda, I get it in the gourmet section at my grocery store, they also have sugarfree applebutter and pumpkin butter) I also adore gourmet peanut butters, like the ones with raisins and cinnamon mixed in and cashew butter, almond butter and Soy butter will do in a pinch... I have also been know to enjoy a peanut butter cup sometimes too I know that Russell Stover makes a sugar free peanut butter cup, but I like the real thing.....only sometimes. ~Mandy -

I second was TallgirlTX says about the gas-x, I lived on the chew-able ones for about 10 days. Also walk, walk, walk and drink as much water as possible. These things help to get all the gas out of the abdominal cavity, blood stream and they generally make you feel better. Also try warm tea, it helps. Being flushed is a normal reaction to the pre-op & post-op diet. Welcome to bandland. Ask all the questions you may have, get as much rest as possible and keep your chin up.....~Mandy -

When I had the HIDA scan done it felt just like the attacks that I had been having the entire time. The doc said that was a sure sign it was my GB. ~Mandy -

why no powdered? They are way cheaper and last much long on the shelf. My doc recomends the powders and also sells them in the office. ~Mandy -

I bought the Hamilton Beech blender at walmart for about $13 it has a cup that you can drink out of and is easy to clean. Also there are tons of ready to drink shakes. So you would just pop them open adn drink up. I was fine on liquids after about day 4. Can you reschedual the other stuff? ~Mandy -
Here is another joke for you guys....: Bubba died in a fire and his body was burned pretty badly. The morgue needed someone to identify the body, so they sent for his two best friends, Darryl and Gomer. The three men had always done everything together. Darryl arrived first and when the mortician pulled back the sheet. Darryl said, "Yup, his face is burned up pretty bad. You better roll him over." The mortician rolled him over, and Darryl said, "Nope, ain't Bubba." The mortician thought this was rather strange. Then he brought Gomer in to identify the body. Gomer looked at the body and said, "Yup, he's pretty well burnt up. Roll him over." The mortician rolled him over and Gomer said, "No, it ain't Bubba." The mortician asked, "How can you tell?" Gomer said, "Well, Bubba had two assholes." "What? He had two assholes?' asked the mortician. "Yup, I've never seen 'em, but everyone knew he had two assholes. Every time we went to town, folks would say, "Here comes Bubba with them two assholes!"

Thought this was cute.... AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES 1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic. Simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat and presto, the blockage will be almost instantly removed. 2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away. 3. You can avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat just by using the sink. 4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use an egg timer. 5. A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button. 6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives. Then you will be afraid to cough. 7. Have a bad toothache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will forget all about the toothache. 8. Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: In life, you only need two tools - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move but should, use the WD-40. If it should not move and does, use the duct tape. 9. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them. 10. Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom. Thought for the Day: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES ..... THEY ARE NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING ... BUT THEY STILL BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU PUSH THEM DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS.

Hi all...I am trying to list stuff on Ebay this week. Next week the window will be installed and I can install my dog run this week if it stays warm. We are going to wait 2 or 3 more weeks to do the landscaping but at least I can get the dog run in and start using it. I am adding dirt to the front and back yard and also having to replant grass seed. So the dog run MUST be in before that gets started. My doggers love to play in the dirt and then they require a bath before being allowed back in the house. With the run in place I can use that and protect my carpets and sanity. We are eventually going to put pea gravel in the dog run but for now the grass will do. We are pouring a new concrete patio and then leveling out the yard this summer, loads of work but it needs to be done. The front yard also has a dip in it that needs to be filled in, and then some simple grass patch in that area. I am getting rid of a huge flower bed that I can't get anything to grow in, so that will provide the dirt for the front, and also be less work for me. I have a flower bed in front of my house that I want to dig out and just plant grass there. I have a black thumb and every plant I touch dies. I'm going to plant some butterfly bushes and be done. I'll check in later. ~Mandy

Check out www.allearsnet.com it is a total Disney site, there are tons of great tips for both land and world. I use it to make all my plans. She has height requirements, ride descriptions, menus, and some suggestions for guests with disabilites, I would look at this like a bad back or heart problem, you are facing the same restrictions, no big bumps, drops or coaster type rides. ~Mandy

Cindy, any way you can sneek over for a few days in Sept? I would love to see you there. ~Mandy

$650 each? Thats great. How did you manage Pop Century? That's where my sister wanted and it wasn't available. I'll have her call again. ~Mandy
