Medic Alert ID or not?

Another option is a long necklace, it wouldn't be seen by anyone other than the paramedics. ~Mandy -
My email links are also not working. Yesterday I couldn't edit at all. When I tried it gave me an error. ~Mandy

Patty, sorry you are in such pain. I hope the gas gets better fast. I'm soooo happy for you, welcome to Bandland, it's almost as great as Disneyland, only with no rides or characters. :youcandothis: ~Mandy

Wedding bells and pellet guns: I'm ready to shoot my daughter the bride-to-be
piercedqt78 replied to Lap_dancer's topic in The Lounge
I was married in a bowling alley. It was great, we did the formal thing, and used a reception area that was used for parties. It was a blast. Then we changed into causal clothes (matching bowling shirts) and had a great time. The whole thing suit, dress, food and bowling cost me about $3,000. It was great. Tell the bridezilla that she needs to make up her mind and quick, or it will be a bowling alley for her too...LOL ~Mandy -
Patty, I'm sure you are gone already. But I am sending prayers, hugs, and much love to you. ~Mandy

I am 5'4 and my last few pounds are extra skin. If I lift up the skin on my stomach I can put on a 9/10. That was my goal. ~Mandy -
Kat, Sherry and Chrispy will also be there. I know that several of the members that now belong to band2gether are in that area also. We will be at Disney, care to join us for a day? ~Mandy

I agree with OH Juli, make sure you take the pain meds they are there to keep you from being in pain. There is no reason to hurt, control the pain and get pleanty of rest. Drink loads of Water, it helps to flush the anestiasa out of your system. Also the more you walk the faster the gas gets out of the body. I lived with my heating pad on my back for the first few days. We are here for you. Do you have a good shopping list for post-op stuff? Here is my list: heating pad flexible ice pack (for the port incision swelling) liquid tylenol (they make adult strength) chewable or liquid gas-x a few books or movies comfy clothes (loose waisted shorts or sweat pants) squishy pillow for car ride (guard against seatbelt) protien shakes flavored water make sure you have a good blender I bought a drink mixer for the protien mix (cost $10 at walmart) broth or stuff to make broth sugarfree popsicles and Jello sugar free gum (ask your doctor) sugar free breathmints (ask your doctor) *Ask at your pre-op for the pain med prescription so you can have it all ready to go when you get home, our walgreens has to order liquid pain meds and it takes 3 days to get them. ~Mandy -

I am totally happy with my weight loss. How about you? Slow is fine with me, at least I get an entire season out of my clothes. I have gone from a womans 22/24 to an 11jr. ~Mandy -
I don't see a place to request samples. Do I need to call for them? ~Mandy

Kat, I responded to the other thread looking for Fl bandsters. I am sure that when you get into the new place, and can start a regular working out regularly, and working more normal hours you will start to drop the pounds. Do you feel any restriction? If you are totally filled maybe the band is too big. I tought the bands either held 4cc or 10 or 11cc. I would wait until you are settled and then start over. That is the beauty of the band, it is waiting for you when you are ready to start again. ~Mandy

MsDad, you only have a few days to go.....woooohoooo!!! Good for you starting a place where the GLBT can support each other and also find supportive people that are not GLBT. I am almost 2 years post-op and LOVE LOVE LOVE my band. Keep us updated on your surgery, and post-opness. ~Mandy -
Heather when are you moving back? I will be there for 10 days in Sept,(14th-24th) will you be there by then? There will be other bandsters there on vacation at the same time as I am there. If you are back by then let's get together. If not I am there at least once a year. ~Mandy

You guys will not be waiting in line, you will not be eating. The sit down places only have so many seatings available and they tend to book up during free dining. I love 50's prime time, it's a fun place to eat. I've never done Hoop-De-Doo, but it gets good reviews. We Love Chef Mickey's at the contemporary (buffet with Mickey and friends). I would avoid Sci-fi and Coral Reef both are really hit or miss, mostly miss. Le Cellier in Epcot is really good (mostly steak) Concourse is another great place for steak. Kona is great for fish and chicken at the Poly. You should consider sharing a meal or two and then booking a double credit place like dinner in the castle in Magic Kingdom. Do you have all the menus? If not I can get them to you, and also a list of places that take the dining plan. For Downtown Disney, check out Wolfgang Pucks the ceasar chicken is great. There isn't a good place in Animal Kingdom to eat, they are closing Tusker House, the only place that had good food there. So I would suggest grabbing lunch at Pepper Market in Coronado Springs, the food is great and it's counter service, but feels like a sit down place. They have a grill a mexican counter and pizza/pasta. I like the buffets because if something isn't working for me I can get something else. Also it's faster and there are soooo many choices. Also most have characters, and you can get great pictures and autographs without a line and in the AC. I can help more if you need it. I also have my dining plans on a nice little layout, let me know if you want a copy of it. You can delete my numbers and times and then add yours in, and also see where we are eating. ~Mandy

Some vitamin shops have individual packets that you can buy pretty cheap. Someone on here says bariatriceating.com has some too. I've never tried them. I have tried some of the stuff at Trader Joe's and had good results. Also if something is totally gross most places will allow you to exchange it for something different. ~Mandy

Sherry and Chrispy, I am losing my mind what are your Disney dates again? I want to set up a time to meet, lunch maybe? I am making final plans now and want to work something out with you guys. I have a huge group going with me so I have to plan sometime with you guys away from my crazy family. LOL!! My hubby was laughing that he would spring for lunch for us, since between the 3 of us we could split an appitizer. And Sherry you are correct what happens in Disney does indeed stay in Disney, the Mouse never tells. I too scream my head off on the rides but I LOVE it. If you guys need park advice or any help planning let me know. By the way you should get Dining reservations made soon, they are starting to book up. (407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) for ressies) I just started a Disney food column for a weekly newsletter, and I am so excited. So if you guys want to write a review or take any pictures of your meals while in the world I can add them to my column. Cindy, are you getting to lay on the couch and do nothing today? I only have to do a load of laundry, (blood on some stuff from last night) and then my hubby is taking us to macaroni Grill yum!! Darcy, are you sitting in your cabin? Did you get something cool for the cabin for Mothers Day? Beanie, sounds like the new job is a great match for you. I am going to be looking for somthing in the fall when Abi starts school. Not sure what I am going to do. I want to teach but since I am going to be sueing the school district for special placement next year I don't think they are going to want to hire me. Hope everyone has a great mothers day!!!

Seems 75-85 pounds is about right at the 2 year mark for most people. ~Mandy -
Hi all, I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy Mother's Day. Mine started off in grand style. We just got home from the ER. Abigale got a nose bleed at 7pm and at 9:30 she was STILL bleeding. We were soaking though paper towels a bit too quick for my comfort so off to the ER we went. They put a clamp on her nose and that slowed it down enough that she was able to develop a clot. The bleeding has stopped for the moment, we have to see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor this week. The ER doc (who was great by the way...) ran several blood tests, checking her for clotting disorders, platelet issues, and some other tests that he said all looked fine tonight. Two of the tests will continue to be ran over the next few days and if there is a change they will call me. I am going to try to get some sleep. Say a quick prayer for my baby. Happy Mothers day all. ~Mandy
