Metalband, it does get easier. My band had to be totally unfilled for surgery and I have lost 4 pounds in the last 10 days. I am still eating banded portions, and not struggling at all. I have been banded just over 2 years. ~Mandy -
New band and Disneyland. Can I do it?

I would wait for the fill. Fills have a habit of "kicking in" 3-10 days after they are done. I can eat anything I want right after a fill then several days later I am too tight to swallow water. ~Mandy -

That's another plus to Disney World, there are tons and tons of food places there. I second the ask your doc, they know best. ~Mandy -

I did major coaster at 6 weeks post-op. I was fine after 2 weeks, totally back to normal. My only concern would be finding food there. We did Disney World for 5 days without my daughter right after surgery. I had more energy for that trip, then any other trip pre-op. ~Mandy -
I think my daughter might be a bit young for the whole webkinz experience, she just turned 6. ~Mandy

Chrissy, if you are in the area, we do a lunch at Panera in Oak Brook once a month. There is a thread titled New Chicago Friends thread, that's where we post the details. ~Mandy

Like I stated before, if you are unable to load the cart just ask, they will do it for you. If you have a bad back then ask for help, don't play games by paying slowly so they will give up and help you. I worked retail for a time and it's not an easy job, and can be made much harder by difficult customers. ~Mandy

My daughter got one for her birthday, she activated it and it's in the bottom of her stuffed animal basket now. She didn't really get into it that much. ~Mandy

I have two things to say here. First off I'm not trying to be an asshole, just stating my opinion. For the first statement, do other stores in your area bring the stuff to your car? Seems like every place around here stops sevice once you have paid, ie no car delivery service. It's good exercise to load and unload the cart yourself. If you are UNABLE to do it yourself there is someone available to help at any store, but then who unloads when you get home? It's unfair to the cashier to screw up her numbers by being slow to pay. Most stores keep a log or transaction time and money totals and the cashiers have an hourly quota to meet. So by you being intentionally slow it makes them have to not only load your cart (not part of their job) but also try to make up the time/money quota. I am happy to load my own cart, and actually shop in a grocery store that I have to bag my own groceries.....it saves money and I get to bag my stuff that way I want too. This reminds that I have my health and am blessed to be able to care for myself. Think about it next time you are loading your cart, there are people that CAN'T. ~Mandy

You can always look for the size and brand name now on ebay. I was fitted and bought a few at the boutique and then realized I could get the same bras for half the price on ebay. I am also hooked on Victoria Secrets body shaper. ~Mandy -

Amelia, I am happy for the great job op, but sad that you may be leaving. Keep us updated. ~Mandy -
Sherry, you can use all of the meal vouchers at counter service places. No need to change them at all. But the counter service places are limited to mostly fast food type stuff. There are some great ones, but for the most part they are burger and fries type stuff. ~Mandy

I have to venture out the the store today. I need to get out of the house, I'm going a bit stir crazy and we need some stuff. Dave and Abi are going to go with me so I don't have to lift anything. But I will get some away time. I'll check in later. ~Mandy

Sherry, I wish I had an appointment to finish my tattoo today, maybe next week. I hope to have my dragon finished before Disney. There are some great GPS deals during the day after thanksgiving sales. (sam's club also has them pretty cheap right now). Do you guys have the Disney plans all made? Did you and Chrispy still want to meet up? Cindy, we are waiting for details about the concert. I love the Stray Cats, they do a great show. I promise I am trying to take it easy. The hardest thing has been not wrestling with my doggies. I love to get in the floor and play tug-o-war with both of them. That and not being allowed to do any exercise at all. I really want to go for a nice long couple of mile walk. Maybe the doc will clear me to take long walks next week. You can bet I am going to ask. I am sore in strange places, like my hips. I have the incision across the bikini line, and I hurt several inchs away from each end. I also hurt around my navel. The surgeon also took my appendix, so I am also having some pain there. My incision is burning more than hurting. It's weird. Since I had Abi naturally I've never had this type of incision and it's making me think twice about doing a tummy tuck. Maybe the hanging skin isn't so bad. LOL After the pain I had monday right after surgery, I don't think I ever want to do that again. Kat, how is Kenzie? She all better? It's good that Rick at least got regular news. Regular news is much much better than bad news. ~Mandy

If anyone has lasko brand space heaters, they are being recalled due to fire hazard. I have 3 of them. I called the company, they are sending me boxes and shipping labels. I will recieve replacements for all three heaters. I thought I would pass on the information. Here is the link and pictures of the recalled heaters. Lasko Products - Product Registration ~Mandy

Lala, I am home now. Still very tired, but at least I am home. Dr. Lahmann decided to do a complete unfill after I was under sedation, so my band is totally open. I'm debating between getting filled now or after vacation. Right now I'm too tired and sore to go for a fill. I'll see how I feel in a week. How's everyone else? ~Mandy -

I had to purchase some pajamas for my hospital stay. When I bought jammies for my band surgery I got XXL and they were snug. This time (2 years later) I was able to get med, and they fit, even after surgery with the swelling I have. WooHoo!! ~Mandy -
Patty, thank you so much for the care package. It really made my day. I love everything in there. (((hugs))). ~Mandy

I am finally home. I spent the night at my mom's last night and was very uncomfortable sleeping in a recliner. I am going to sleep in my own bed tonight. I am sore and very tired, but am now starting to think I will survive. I'll check in later. ~Mandy
