Hi guys, I did the final paint stuff today in the kitchen. Then I moved all stuff in the cabinets around. We installed a pot rack, and I got to hang my pots and pans over the sink. All that is left is the trim and backsplash to be installed. I will take pics when it's all done. Tomorrow is paint in the basement. It's finally ready for paint. I have a list of stuff to do before going back to work on monday. I'm also having problems with the e-mail updates. ~Mandy

Diane, I bought closet organizers the day after Thanksgiving, but they are still in the box, waiting to be installed. That is one of my big projects before I go back to work, I have one more week off. Tonight I bought tile for my kitchen backsplash. I'm doing a southwest theme. (Cindy, think Coronado Springs) I painted the walls a cool orange last night and the back splash is going to be blue, green and creme. I can't wait. I am also putting in a blue chair rail, and the trim is all royal blue. My friends keep saying it's a Chicago bears kitchen, but's it's a Disney kitchen. I spent the day with family so I need a drink and then it's off to bed for me. Night all, Mandy

There is always room for a new bandster. Be aware that most of us are not really from NJ. I am from just outside of Chicago and we have people from Texas, South Carolina, NM and MI, did I miss anyone? maybe but the girls here know I love them all. You have stumbled into the best group on lapbandtalk, bar none. I am getting ready to turn 30, I have a special needs 6 year old daughter and I'm working on getting a teaching degree. I was banded July 2005, and love my band almost all the time. It was a great decision and I'm glad I did it. I have about 25 or 30 more pounds to go, and I feel great. Again, welcome feel free to kick your feet up and stay with us. ~Mandy

Sherry, I didn't notice the tree at all in the pic. I was so smitten with those pups. Abi took the picture and it's in her "secret place" in her room. That is the place where she can put stuff that will not be tossed during room clean up days. About once a week or so I go into her room with a trash bag and go on a tossing spree. She and I have a deal that the stuff in that drawer will not be touched. That is where the dog picture went. I will have to ask her about the background, as I don't think she noticed it either. ~Mandy

Hi all, I forgot to send out my cards. They are on the passenger seat of my car....duh!! Christmas was calm and really nice around my house. We got up around 8 and I put breakfast in the oven. (a white castle and egg deal) and we opened presents. Then after breakfast Dave and I did some work in Abi's new room. Part of her gift was redecorating her room into a rock star theme. It looks great once christmas gifts are all put away I will posts some pictures of the finished product. Then my parents came over and we cooked steaks on the grill. I did some boiled shrimp in beer and hot sauce, think spicy shrimp coctail. My mom made a huge salad and cheesey rice. I also had green beans and cressent rolls. Nothing huge, but a very good meal. When dinner was over the adults opened gifts and then we had a vanilla custard with cherries on top. We finished out the day by going to my sisters house and playing games for a few hours. All in all it was a great day. I will be around a bit more in the next 2 weeks as I have some time off work for the Holidays. Love to you all, Mandy

My hubby does indeed know me. He said for my b-day we are going to pick out leathers and a new helmet to match the bike. WooHoo!! My mom also said she would get me riding gloves and a helmet if I promise to wear them EACH time I ride. I have no intention of riding without gear, I'm too much of a chicken for that. ~Mandy

Ok, so I had a really crappy day at work, came home in tears. One of the women that I work with chewed me out for something I didn't do. I'm so over it now, but it ruined my day. Then I'm making dinner and my hubby calls me into the garage, (he's out there working on bowling pin penguins for Abi's class party next week) I go out there and this is what I find..... It's all mine, for Christmas. I have a great hubby. He loves me!! ~Mandy

Sonia, I'm so happy that the phone interview went so well. Is there at least a time frame for the face to face? When are they looking to fill this position? I'm going to miss you, can I come to IA and visit? Or will you make plans to still come here and visit for a lunch every now and again? I really hope this works out for you. ~Mandy

Jetti, my doc says that you have a good fill if you can eat rice....LOL. I can eat very small amounts of rice if it's mixed in with something else. (soup, or beans) I was like you, able to keep my portions small but I wanted a fill at 10 weeks as I was starting to feel like it was a diet. I didn't want a diet I wanted a life change. I need a fill now, but with the holidays and work it's hard to get in. Your post reminded me that a fill was in order. I'm going to call now. ~Mandy

Hi all. I did nothing in my house this weekend, so I will have to play catch-up every afternoon this week. Starting with grocery shopping tomorrow. I got an e-mail about putting vicks vapor rub on the soles of your feet when you are sick, then socks and go to bed. It makes you feel all warm and better very quickly. I'm going to try that next time I am sick. I have my party on Sat, and then I have a week of "down time" before the big holiday. I only need teacher gifts and then I am done. I bought Abi's teacher an ornament, but I need something else for her still. She recently got married so I bought her the precious moments 1st Christmas together ornament. (she even looks like the little girl on the ornament). I'm not sure what else to get her, any ideas Cindy? I also need something for the aid, and the special ed teacher. totally I'm lost...... I'm off to bed, I'll check in tomorrow. ~Mandy
