Anyone know the guys in the background??

I was in the left lane and this guy decides to make a right on red, right into my car. My front quarter panel, bumper and front passenger side rim is all messed up. ~Mandy

Hi guys. I'm alive. It's been crazy busy here for the past few weeks. I adopted a dog last week, and he needed some TCL. I'll attach a pic at the bottom of this post. I was in a car accident last week. I'm ok, but my car...not so much. I missed a day or so of work from being sore but other than that I'm good. Dave and I went shopping and I bought a scooter. It's 125cc, but we are doing some mods to make it 150cc. It can do 60mph and gets 90mpg. I love it. I spent all weekend out on it. Today was my last day of work until aug. The last day of school is tomorrow, but it's only part of a day. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself this summer, but I'm sure I will find trouble somewhere. I promise to try to be here more often. I don't get emails so I forget to check in. Here's the pup his name is Louie: and the scooter:

That's common problem post-op. The best thing you can do for it is walk. Sip on plenty of liquids, and walk as much as possible. The walking helps to move the gas out of your system. Congrats on being banded. I'm going on 3 years and LOVE my band. ~Mandy

Sherry, rest up and get better. Hugs. ~Mandy

yep, it's a small pill about the size of a mini m&m. Goes down easy.

Sherry, the doc just put me on aciphex (20 mg) and I'm already feeling better. It's an acid reducer. Maybe ask about it? Mothers day will be quiet around here. We are going to the zoo tomorrow, but sunday will just be me and Abi. I made a nice steak dinner tonight. Some tender steaks, some shrimp (boiled in beer and hot sauce), cream cheese mashed potatos, and corn. Yum. I'm full but not uncomfortable. I've had some issues with reflux myself and we all know that leads to pb issues. This medicine has helped and I've only been on it 3 days. ~Mandy

I haz rep power... Did that help? I believe it's a way to give a nod to those that help or something profound? If you look in your user CP there is a list of post that got rep power.

Eileen, my heart just breaks for you. I know that pain all too well from when I lost my darling kitty baby hobbes a few years ago. He had pancreatic cancer and I lost him very quickly. The pain gets better but never goes away. I still cry for him sometimes. I'll go to bed and be really tired and I long for him to curl up at my side and keep me warm and safe. We adopted another cat several months after he passed, it took me 4 tries to even be able to get all the way in the shelter. We would drive all the way there and I would just bust out in tears and come home. Remember, you have suffered a great loss, allow yourself to grieve. Keep an eye on the little one too. My daughter seemed to take it very well, and then we discovered that she was crying alone in her room when we thought she was playing. Now is a great chance to explain loss and heartache to her. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. My love to your entire family. I posted this in Feb for Signgirl, it helped us when we lost Hobbes, maybe it will comfort you too: Weep not for me though I am gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest There is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death, But Celebrate my life.

Kat, I agree that was very romantic. He's a keeper for sure. Tell him that I said they must have made his heart 2 times bigger last time they worked on it  Sherry, it is rain or shine and it's gonna rain on sat. I don't care I'll be riding. I've waited forever for this. ~Mandy

Hi all. I just wanted to subscribe to this thread. I started my motorcycle class tonight. It was 4 hours tonight, then 8 hours sat and sunday. Tonight it was classroom time, then Sat and Sun will be time on their bikes, they told us tonight that the bikes were pre-dropped and for us not to worry. LOL It was a great night. I'm excited about it all. I'm off to bed. Night all, Mandy

Happy April fools day all. I'll post a link to this thread in the March thread so everyone knows it's here. ~Mandy

Kat, we love you. I would be upset if I thought you were holding all this in rather than getting it off your chest and feeling somewhat better. I'm here for you girly, we all are. I'll pm you my number and you can call it anytime. You tell Manda that she has a powerful group of women pulling for her and that this will all work out. Give her a huge hug for us and then buy her a gallon of really good ice cream, that makes it all better you know. You vent all you want. We are here for you. On a huge positive note my knee is doing better each day. I am back to work and it's not killing me. I do have to run but I will check back later. ~Mandy

I'm here and alive. My knee has really taken it's toll on me. I missed work all week last week and haven't been this week either. I'm going back tomorrow. My stitches came out today. I have gone from now being able to bend it at all, to being able to let it dangle off the end of the table. It's still swollen and sore and when I asked the doctor if this was the best it would get he said we could talk again in 3 weeks. I hate when they blow off valid questions. He could have said, let's wait and see how you are progressing, but he said "we'll talk in 3 weeks". Kat, Manda is in my heart and prayers. I'm dealing with indifference with my medical doctor too. I'm being evaluated for cushings and other various endocrine tumors and I've been waiting 5 weeks to be seen. I had a ton of blood work done and have no clue what the results are. They were forwarded to the specialist for him to review. I get those results on the 7th of May. I am a member of another board like this but it's local motorcycle riders. We had a very very young rider go down this week, and that has me a wreck. He's just a kid and has been in ICU for 5 days. Rod in his leg and collapsed lung. At least he had on full gear (there are no helmet laws in IL). I go for my rider safety course thursday, and then again sat and sun. I'm excited and a bit scared too. The weather here has been too crappy for us to ride anyway. We had a day in the 70's and then snow flurries the next day. It's been unreal. Sherry, I'm not getting the new posts reminders either. But I did get one tonight for Pat's post. Pat, the colonoscopy isn't too bad. I had one a few years ago and it was over before I knew it. The pre-test prep was the worst. Betty, I have 4.5 more months til my vacation. Please tell me that you had a margarita and thought of us. ~Mandy

I would like to start a once a month meeting somewhere in the Chicagoland area. I know that there are more and more of us in the area and think it would be a great way to get support. I know that the North Carolina girls do it and have a blast. Anyone interested? Sort of a support group/friends having lunch? Maybe do a clothing swap a few times each year? Let me know if you are in so I make some plans...~Mandy

I'm really swollen, and sore. I start physcial therapy tomorrow. Today is my first day without bandages and I was able to shower today. ~Mandy

There is an ad over the chick on top of my page. How did you get rid of the ad?

Hi all, I'm home from surgery. It went very well. They were able to repair or remove all the problem areas. It looks like a replacement won't be nessary. I'm going to try and get some sleep, I'll check back in later. Thanks for the prayers. ~Mandy

Betty and Kat, thanks for the well wishes. For the UTI issues, try cranberry tablets. My doctor told me about them and they work wonders. I used to LIVE with UTI all the time. I haven't had one single issue since I started the cranberry tabs. ~Mandy

I just got home from the ortho, I have to have knee surgery. They called and were able to get me in on friday. I have to have a meniscal repair, and possibly a transplant. They won't know how much needs to be done until they get in there. I will let you all know as soon as I get home. ~Mandy

I work days, mon-fri. I'm game for whenever. There are times that I have my almost 7 year old with me, hope that's ok. I had surgery at UIC with Dr. Horgan, but Dr.Lahmann is my band doc now and I LOVE him. He is just great. Like I said I'm game for whenever. ~Mandy
