115! Bring it on!! Karla, I remember the feeling. Yours doing the right thing in meeting with the prof. Good chance that you aren't the only one in the dark. Best to aak early on before you start on the wrong path. Hope alls well with Deniae. Bothers me that she hasn't plated. Candice, how you doing with the company and cooking extra food? Been to WW? Phyl, you too? What's up with karri? Had Levi today. Still hard to get up from the floor, and from the rocking chair when he falls asleep. But, it's coming! I could never have done this 5 years ago! -

Not reassuring news, Phyl. At least I'm glad that you're on it. You're doing all the right things and then some. The rest is a matter of prayer. Candice, sounds like once again you're nominated for the "best ever hostess" award. Hope the voice cooperated and the gig wen off without a hitch! Still praying hoping things work out for you, Denise. Janet, happy ti gear about bil! We need some good news around here! I'm having issues with my iPad. Better shut down and figure out what's up. How are you liking yours, Phyl? -

Thoughts and prayers, Denise. Keep us posted. And I'm sorry to hear about dh's aunt. One of my sons, Tim, who is in LA, was in an earthquake bad enough that ppl were diving under desks in the library. Instead, he ran for his computer b/c it had his dissertation on it. He backed it up every day after that. . . Get the external, Karla! I'm home, but missing Arkansas weather. It's 52 here . Lots to do now -

Well, I THOUGHT I was heading home! I got as far as Memphis, and then my connecting flight was cancelled after several delays. So, instead of having them get me a hotel and early morning flight, I talked them into letting me return to Arkansas and trying again on Thursday. So I'm back at Mindys and it's a good thing. She got into a big fight with BF after I left and she was in a bad way. I think she's really happy that I came back, but she knows that she needs to make some big changes. She's overwhelmed with things that are happening at work and just doesn't know what to do with her life. Weve all been there. . . Mindy just bottles everything up and doesn't talk about it. Helping her is really hard. Eating's been ok. Mindy tries to eat healthy, so that helps. Hope some of you post today. It's getting a little lonesome. -

Janet-- I'm wearing my Jams dress today and I absolutely love it! I will definitely get another the next time I come to vista you. Candice--how's it going with the company? Do you weigh in tomorrow? I'll be looking. . . Phyl--I made a pair of earrings for Mindy today. It was so fun to go with her to pick out the beads and then make it for her. I can't wait to learn more! Denise-- when will you find out about your job? The whole thing sounds really asinine to me, but what do I know? The whole world is getting crazier and crazier. Take the whole thing with Weiner. . . Karla-- scool's out? Hurrah. How's the fill working out? I'm still in Arkansas and supposed to leave tomorrow morning. I'm not sure about that as DD is once again having issues. Part of me wants to stay and hold her hand, but another part says that she needs to toughen up and end this thing. She has evrything going for her and it's up to her to figure it out. Stay tuned to find out what happens. . . -

Karla, your energy is amazing. I could never keep up with you. Janet too, for that matter. You two are really know now to burn up the calories. Good for you! There is a lot of work to be done here before my sister comes in early July. I wish Mel would take a day to help me. Likely not. My hip/leg is getting better. I still limp when I walk and it hurts if I overdo, but all in all I can see improvement week to week. Hopefully that will continue as I am going to mindy's on thursday. I have a lay over in atlanta and that is a big airport, so lots of walking. Then when I get to bentonville, she'll want to go shopping, so I'll have to keep up with her. I'll be taking some pain pills along just in case. . . She's talking about a trip to Europe this fall, specifically, the eastern Mediterranean countries. That would be fun. I don't think Mel will want to go, so it might be just the two of us. I'm glad that the surgery is behind me. Candice must be busy with her company. Hope she sort of sticks to the plan so that she doesn't feel regrets when they leave. I better remind myself of that while I'm at Mindy's. . . The weather was perfect yesterday, so no complaints about that today. We just had a line of storms pass through, but the sky behind them looks clear, so hopefully it will be a nice afternoon. As soon as the deck dries up, I'm gonna head out there! -

Too cold to be outside again today. I suppose it's good as I got sunburned yesterday. I spent the morning working on the project that we started last night. I sure am getting practice threading the needle! It's a netting that coves a round Christmas tree ornament, and can be adapted for other things. I'm sure with practice I'll make fewer mistakes. . . I have an appointment with an ear doctor this aft. To see if there's anything I can do about the constant ringing in my ears. I think I have some hearing loss in one ear as well-too much loud music in my 20s. Tonight we get to babysit, so Im happy about that. Phyl, I hate the way the doctor told you that he wants you to see a cardiologist without telling you why. Like that's good for you to sit and worry about it for 2 weeks! WhTs up with these guys? Candice, I hope that your friends coming will be a good distractiion. Try to keep us posted. Karla, looking for an update post-fill. Starting to see some movement? Hurrah for summer break! -

Karri, I worry about you, Don't overdo the exercise. Camdice and Phyl,, check in amigas! We need you. Denise, flood worries over? Jackie, when are you moving? Did you say south of Joplin? My DD is in NW Arkansas. -

Oh Candice, I know how much you and Peter love Bryan, and how he has become part of your family. Of course you're sad and upset. You didn't see this coming--what a blow! I'm so sorry. Slapping Meghan sounds like a good idea! Want me to do it for you? Kids. . . If it helps at all, mel and I are seriously looking at July 30th. Phyl, I'm sorry to hear about all the pain. Have you tried ice? I did get some relief using ice-- especially at night. Between the gloomy/cold weather and the chronic pain, you've got to be feeling pretty down too. Im with Janet. The weekend was ho-hum. Went to Andy's yesterday for penny's family's celebration of Levis birthday. She is the youngest of 6 kids, and all but one have kids under 5 years old, so it was very much a family affair. I chose all the wrong foods to eat. We didn't stay long. -

Candice, hope you're feeling better today. We just gotta fight through the bad days! Hugs andd prayers. . . If you're having the same weather as we, I certainly understand how you're feeling. Enough already! A little sun would sure be nice! We went to church in the park this morning in our winter jackets, but at least it wasn't raining. Karla, it's always going to be a struggle. I hope a fill helps you, but it still won't addreess the head issues which is where my struggling is. Bottom Line: The band controls how MUCH we put into our mouths, but we still have to control the WHAT. That is where I have more work to do. I've learned that things like soups, coffee drinks, and cheese are easy to eat, but I will gain weight if I eat them until Im full. Sorry to hear about the flooding. What a spring! Phyl, I found a bead store that has classes. I'm signed up for one on Thursday night. Once I have a handle on the "how tos", I can take you up on the offer of Fire Mountain. Right now, I don't even know what to order. Janet, when us Melissa going to have surgery? How is she doing on the pre-op diet? I hope she's getting excited about having it done. -

Lots of good news today! Yay, Jackie! Another success story. A size 2 on bridal is like a 0! I forgot, where did you start? So happy for Courtney too. I'm glad you checked in. And Kerri too! Candice, glad you got the unfill. Like you said: being too tight only encourages you to eat sliders, which is not good! Now that you've had all your medical stuff, you can work with me on losing again. My appetite is back, so no more easy weight loss for me (not that having surgery was easy!) And Phyl? Are your test results all OK? Hope you can find some resolution to the knee/back issues. Injections are temporary at best, but it sounds like surgery is problematic as well. Maybe you need a second opinion? Hugs on that, hon. It'd gotta be tough. Karla, its hard to sit with a friend who is hurting so much. Suicide? How awful. But even though there isn't anything you can say to make her feel better, just listening is a gift. So I made Mindys necklace today, and might start a bracelet romorrow. I do like beading, but I wish I could find a class. I think I'm doing some things the hard way, and I'd love to learn some of the tricks. Phyl, if you do come here this summer, you'll have to show me some more! Thats it for me, ladies. TTFN -

Candice, when you have time, would you please send those recipes to me? I know theyre not particularly band-approved, but now that I have time, it would really be fun to try some new things. I used to like to cook! I've been following the weather down south really closely b/c Mindy lives there. They've been under tornado warnings and Sunday veining she even outran one. She spent last night at a friends house as she didn't want to be alone. Mel's hoping that our church will put a team together to go down and help with rebuilding. He went to Buloxi a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. Phyl--I hope your friends are ok. I feel so sorry for your DD1 Karla, that's really rough. I hope that when the baby is born she come to terms with it. Yay for karri. How nice to be able to go to school and now worry about working. Things were different for me. I think that generation Y-ers have different values than we did too. One of my sons, Luke, does not work and his wife only works part time, and they are not worried at all about money. Granted, Luke has a fellowship, but it doesn't cover everything, especially with a baby coming. Then there's another son, Tim, who probqbly has $100,000 in loans, and at least another year to go. Now he has been working part time, but $100,000 in debt at age 28!? anyway, I'm happy for Kerri! Things are coming together for her! I'm going to start a necklace for mindy today. She sent me some beads for mothers day which was very sweet of her. Something for me to do! -

Seems like now that I'm back, everyone's hiding. Whats with that? End of the semester and Karla and karri are probably swamped on both ends. Any news about Kerri's job situation? Phyl should be hearing about all the testing. Like said, where's Steph? Candice, what's up chika? Let down after that whirlwind trip? I hope the weather is warmer where you are. We still haven't see 70, and there's no sight of it happening in the next week. I am so darn tired of being cold all the time. I know I should be out walking more, but with the raw wind, its just too hard. Janet, are you protected from the wind on your patio? That is so nice how you can just step out there and enjoy fresh air. Does your company insure any of the businesses that are affectedly the tornados? How devastating. I guess I shouldn't be so bitter about the weather here when the people down south have it so much worse. Mindy outran a tornado Sunday night. There's no safe place in her apartment complex, so she just got in her car and drove in the opposite direction. Hope Denise is high and dry. Today's our 36th anniversary. If mel's in a good mood, maybe well go out for dinner. . . We'll see. I thought Cora was coming today, but apparently her mommy "forgot". Look at all this free time I suddenly have--pretty soon I'll be cleaning closets and drawers. -

A little boy! Yeah, shopping for them isn't as easy, for sure, but what fun they are! sounds like you and Elyse had a good evening; glad to hear that! Have they picked out a name for him? I've caught a cold. What next? I just wish it would warm up, but then I'd feel guilty-- there is so much yard work to do. Still can't bend or sit on the floor/ground, and the weeds are taking over. It's too cold for anything else to grow. What happened to Steph? Missing her. -

So sorry for the loss of your friend, Candice. Life is so short. just found out that the teenage daughter of some friends was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. One of my best friends (Angie and Sarah's mom) died of lymphoma, but we don't know yet what form of the disease this kid has. Levi was a little bit tongue tied, so they just snipped part of the ligament, and he's good to go. I went over there yest afternoon just in time to see him take his first two steps. Penny saw it too, but Andy missed it . Of course he wouldn't do it again, at least not while I was there. Janet, be careful what you suggest! Don't be surprised if I show up on your doorstep someday (probably not in the middle of summer however). Karri, disappointing developments on the job front, but like you said, you WILL figure something out. It's never easy. Yeah, Phyl. I actually could sit on my deck for an hour yesterday, and maybe again today! Then it's supposed to get cold and rainy again for the weekend. Gotta make the most of the " nice" days when you can! I hope to get my thank you notes written today and finally clean off my desk. Then I can start working on the beading project that Mindy sent me for mothers day! It's not that I don't have things to do. . . One of the older men from my church just had his hip done, so the other day I helped pick him up from the hospital, and got him settled at home. Ill probably go over there and see how he's doing. There's always someone or something. I just have to make the adjustment. -

Oh Karla. Kids just always break your heart. Shell be back as soon as she realizes that a bf is no substitute for a mother. Shell need you more than ever once that child is born, and you and your grandchild will have a very special relationship! So it's all over. The last kid is in the air on his way back to Ca. I am sad. Need to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. The party was successful, about 100 ppl. Didn't get to talk to some before the band started playing. After that there was no more talking-band was too loud. But the kids that stayed till the end had fun dancing, and that was fun to watch. No dancing for me, just had s couple Italian margaritas and tried to relax. Levi is having ear tubes and his little tongue clipped as we speak, poor baby. Just had his 1 st birthday on Tuesday. Hope all is well, Phyl. Yeah, they had a hard time starting the iv at the hospital. 5 or 6 polks as I remember, and all I wanted was the Versed! was pretty bruised up after -

Phyl, of course you, Earl, Zoey, and Candy would be welcome to stay with us! When you have your palms firmed up, let me know so I don't go and plan something else. We're planning a trip to BC in September too, so maybe we can meet you guys' on your turf then. 80 degrees! Enjoy that Karla! It's been one of the coldest ever springs here. Haven't seen 60 yet. Maybe 10 miles away from lake Michigan, but not here on the lakeshore! Karri, looking forward to purred tuna? Glad it's you and not me! I'd lose weight too if I had to eat that. Denise, how y'all doin? I'm following the flooding closely. Are your family and friends OK? Janet, so in the end, how did the weekend turn out? Did the food get eaten? I've learned to wait until I see the wights of their eyes before buying a bunch of food. Even if they do show up as planned, they never let know if they're going to be around for meals! Kids . . .
