  1. I would also agree this are the main reason why I went with the sleeve vs. Bypass.

    looking for other guys.

Thankfully I did not have any pain, nausea, or anything at all to speak off. Per my doctors orders I stayed home for a week, did not drive for 15, and still can't lift weights yet. Now, Around a week after the surgery I was able to return to my regular activites. You have to remember that everyone you meet or ask will tell you something a little different because their bodies heal differently. I have followed my doctor's and Nutritionist's recommendations to the letter, I would recommend you to do it as well, it helps a lot (at least in my case).

    looking for other guys.

Great decision man. I'm 3 weeks post-op, I was sleeved Sept 9th. I was 5'8" with 288 lbs. As of last week, I was at 253lbs, having lost 35lbs. right now I have no Idea where I am. I'm trying not to get obsessed with weighing myself all the the time. Tell me what you'd like to know, hopefully I can help out.
  4. Bethxxx first of all you have to realize one thing: This is something you did for you and no one else. The rest of your world will either accept your changes or get left behind. sorry to be so blunt but that's change. Also I would invite you to read this: http://jondav87.hubp...logical-Effects One of the things that worries me most about my surgery is that I have noticed that some people turn into completely different people, which I don't want to do. I will change, but I don't want to become conceited or pretentious, or other traits that I have never enjoyed neither in myself or others. Be yourself! I shares this with you because more than any physical change, the psychological effects that these changes bring are quite real, and in my example I share all the info and discuss all the available info with my wife. She's the love of my life and is not someone I'm be willing to sacrifice in this process. IMHO you answered yourself with this: I know it may be hard but leave the financial crap out of the equation for the moment. Focus on the relationship. Ask yourself: Do you love him? if so, are you willing to take the time to begin discussing all this things with him? Be frontal, talk to him, ask him upfront if he's willing to change? yes/no? From where I'm standing your choices are simple. One other thing: start listening to yourself more, it seems to me that you provided your ow answers, an just need some vindication. Remember love is a two way street, if it isnt, call it something else. Lost time is a lot worse than lost money! Time is finite! Make a choice and execute! Again my apologies for the bluntness! Take care! Dario
  5. Hello all. just thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Caracas Venezuela, I spent the last 6 months doing resarch on the VSG and in August finally I decided to interview a few doctors. In a couple of weeks i saw 4 doctors, and finally chose one, one of the most reputable ones here in Venezuela. I had my surgery on Monday september 9th 2013 (3 Days ago as of right now.). Thankfully I havent had a single issue to complain about. Im following my prgogram to the letter, given that this is a lifestyle choice and recognized that a ot of changes needed to be made. To put it simply, this process is the most important in my life at the moment, nothing can intervene, work, hobbys, etc. Well, in any case I though I'd shoot a line to all of you. I guess I'll spend the next few hours browsing the forums for a ton of good info that I know is in here. Take care, Dario Caracas Venezuela

Did you keep your surgery a secret?

For the first few months during the research stage only my wife knew. A couple of weeks before the surgery, once the decisions (Doctor, date, etc) had been made I told my immediate family and only the closest of friends. A support circle is important. Thats it. Toxic people will always be around all of us and we cant let "the noise" of bad comment, fears, unknowledgeable people get the better of you. If you did your did your proper research (as I did) then probably in your circle you are the person most informed to make a good "informed" decision. Horror stories will always come by word of mouth but the truth is unless you talk to the surgeon of the horror story, you're only getting word of mouth, uninformed and probably biased responses.
  7. Pretty good list, i would also add: Not fitting comfortably on Airline seats.
