After banding how long does the port site hurt for mines been 3 days now please reply is this normal thanks

I did it I'm banded doing great so far little groggy all day from anesthesia but now better just wanted to check in so HAPPY to start my jorney thanks everyone

How many times do people pb on an average doesn't seem to attractive how do you avoid it.

Hi everyone going for surgery on June 9th and I wanted to know if there are any last minute things I need or should know I know there are alot of june bandsters and I hope we all do well we are changing our lives forever in a positive way. I emailed my doctor and he said it was a very same procedure with excellent results I really want to succeed as we all do. So any advice would be greatly appreciated IE. things needed what food I should stock up on. thinks they don't tell you but should know. thanks again

Tommorrow at 8;30 is my surgery so scared just really nervous with all that can go wrong I am freaking just want the doctor to put the band in right heard so many stories that the position has to be precise and I am also scared fo post op pain I'm a baby and I hate general anethesia hate the feeling of waking up and not knowing where you are so sorry to unload but everyone here has probably had those feeling also wish me luck

How may port infections have we had looks scary do alot of people get them

Just wondering for the people how many lap bands have your doctors done mine has done approx 35 and I'm just scared he might not know what he is doing he seems nice but what is like a magic number to become qualified at it. scared

I asked the anesthiologist when I went for my pre surgical consult and he said 50/50 I think the lap band is coming around I agree however the band is more work not taking away from gastric bypass but it is easier to cheat with the band ie. soft foods icecream milkshake candy with the gastric bypass you get dumping symptom HOWEVWr I do not want permanent reconstuction of my insides lap band safer so here I am surgery June 9th

Well I just told my mother about the surgery i'm getting next week of course she freaked and made me so sad she's crying i'm crying i am very emotional now this is so hard i'm 41 and still feel like a little kid telling my mom shes such a wreck now but i felt I had to tell her after all she is my mother she has a right to know having so many mixed emotions I hope this is all worth it my ultimate goal is better health feeling better about myself and having new self esteem which I seriously lack always thinking everyone is better skinnier prettier so many emotions sorry to unload on you guys thanks for being there I love lbt thanks

Just wondering how involved is it to take the band out just wondering if anyone has had it done just thinking if something went wrong just a thought

Did anyone put any thing on their scars to help them heal better after surgery I just was interested and also can anyone see their port of do they have to feel for it I really don't want my port sticking out

How often does a pb happen sounds awful don't want to spend all my time regurgitating food gross

the nutritionist says she gets calls all the time about people that have done that your not suppose to drink carbonation it will stretch the pouch and gas gets trapped and can't escape easier said than done when you can't breath but its like when something is stuck like a drain and you keep trying to plunger it the pressure gets higher and higher until its goes down or backs up more thats horrible.

They told me childrens tylenol take 2-3 teaspoons probably can't find adult liquid tylenol but is probably exists somewhere.

When food gets stuck what does it feel like???? and what is acceptable considered and adequate chewing and how long should you eat for at a meal also does everyone out there not drink before during and after a meal we have a lot of june bandsters and any advice to these questions would be appreciated. thanks

When you have the lap band do they insert a catheter into your bladder no one ever mentioned it but I think they would have to what if you went you would contaminate everything.

You sound familar are you in some commercial or on a web site for the lap band wade I remember that name.

Went today for pre-op testing wasn't bad just blood work a lot of questions seen anesthesia and got a chest x-ray gained weight though from last time its so pathetic hope they don't notice nothing I can do now so scared surgery next thursday pray for me so scared I know theres a lot of june bandsters good luck to you all we are going to succeed we have to.

I also gained weight to get the band I was like 39.5 ate my way to 42 I know however I wouldn't be at 39 long so I needed the help I am unfortuately a yo-yo dieter could lose 60 gain 80 thats why I am getting the band pray it works.

After the band are people dieting or do you just eat regular foods just less of them I'm so confused

What tests do they do for pre-op testing just wondering I have to go tommorrow and want to know what to expect thanks let me know
