My doctor just told me what to have on the pre diet. I bought the protein drink he suggested, muscle milk. I don't start the diet till next week but I tried one today. Oh my gosh!!!! I have the worst gas. Any suggestions? I can't live 10 days like this!!!

I am scheduled for November 15. Went to the doctor today for pre op work up. It is becoming real and a little scary.

I got approved and scheduled today for November 15th. Super excited and super nervous too.

Just got approved today by my insurance. Now I am super scared. Please tell me in your opinion that I am doing the right thing or not.

I have met several people lately who feel inclined to tell me horror stories about people getting the surgery and then eating around it and not losing. I am scheduled for December for the sleeve and now getting nervous about that. What do you think?

I am sick if wearing black because it is slimming. I am tired of praying the seatbelt will buckle every time I fly. I am tired of mentally judging a chair width with arms hoping to squeeze my butt in it. I am tired of having heat rashes in folds that shouldn't be there. I am sick and tired of the water dam my body creates when I open the drain in the tub. I am tired of my knees hurting. I am tired of laying my clothes on the bed and it looks like I got a new bed spread. I am tired of pulling a big o black bra out of the drawer that could fit two bowling balls in. I am sick of... I could go on and on but I think you already know.

Who am I? I am the mother of one son, stepmother to two daughters and one son. All are grown. My husband and I have been happily married for 9 years. His daughter has two beautiful grand darlings that we get to see a couple of times a year. We leave in two weeks to get to see them again. We can't wait. All of the women, except my mother and one aunt have weight problems, big boobs and big butts! I have always dreamed if having long skinny dance legs but have not seen that come to pass yet (I guess they will never be long but skinny is possible). I have worked for the same company for more than 30 years. I started really young so I have another 10 years before I can retire. I have promoted over the years to upper management and make a good salary but I feel that my weight has hindered my career to some degree. In an effort to prepare for retirement I started on my Masters degree to become a counselor (LPC). I love helping people and thought I might make a difference after retirement. I could go on and on but I think you already know. I have done all the pretest and exams and am waiting for the insurance. I am hoping to have surgery in December 2013 while off work for Christmas. Who are you?

I am working on getting sleeved in December. I am still nervous about it. Will you guys/gals post some pictures of before and after? They are encouraging to me and others.

I think my doctor sent in all my info to the insurance today. So I am waiting on the word. Since I started on this journey a few months ago I have been eating like crazy. I can't seem to get a hold of myself. Anyone else do that?

I am really embarrassed about telling anyone about getting this surgery. Does anyone else feel the way I do? My wish would be not to tell anyone but I am fearful my sister and my mom and even some of my close friends will be hurt if I don't tell them. Really it is painful for me to even think about telling anyone (except for my husband and he is 100% sweet and supportive). Please Let me know how you are feeling. I need support.

The Water in the bathtub is not dammed up behind my body when I open the drain. What will you be excited and happy about?

Lip and Mac Thanks for the post. What do you say when they ask about you losing all the weight? And your new eating habits? Oh and btw, I read you can never drink soft drinks or liquor after surgery. Is that true?

I am in the beginning stage of the process hoping to get the sleeve in mid December. I really want to shed this weight but am very nervous about the surgery, what to eat afterward and really the whole process. So tell me what you love love love or hate hate hate please.
