    200 lbs. GONE !

amazing! Truly an inspiration to us all!
  2. My doctor gave me liquid Zantac to take twice a day as a preventive measure. I have not had trouble, still taking as prescibed. He said He did not want me to have any type of ulcers in my new smaller stomach. Is anyone else still crushing meds 4 weeks after surgery? My BP meds are so bitter, trying anything to make them more palatable. I think I have another month to go of the crushing them....YUCK!
  3. I was sleeved on 9/16, and I have lost 50lbs total. I have much more to lose than many of you, I think that's why it's going faster. I am SURE it will slow. Doctor said the first few months would be the fastest.

    Full liquid stage is tough!

LOL...I was so excited for eggs too! One scrambled and I thought I had just eaten a turkey dinner! I am currently at 3 weeks post op. I am sure it will slow, but I am enjoying my quickly shrinking body! C

    Overwhelmed!

Hi, Tomorrow is 3 weeks post op. I've had a few small bumps since surgery, but overall have felt pretty good, and rather quickly too. I was able to return to work after 1 week @ almost full days. The first few days I was like OMG...what have i done. I had come home from the hospital only to find I gained like 4 lbs, and several days later, still no loss. Emotionally, that was screwing me up, my head knew everything was okay, but i was still anxious. Day 5 I felt pretty good, and by day 7 it started dropping. I too have so much to lose, and when I look forward it seems so daunting. But then I eat and I am so grateful to have this very poweful tool. I always gave in to hunger, It is so lovely to be able to eat so much less and be satisfied. We all can do this and we can all be each others cheerleaders.
  7. I was given the okay by my doctor to do the bicycle and eliptical trainer at the fitness center, Basically low impact. I have to say all these doctors are so different....
  8. Hi guys, I am two weeks post, and I am hardly losing anything. ...like 4 lbs??? Kinda frustrated, anyone else experience this? I am hoping it's just my body adjusting to the shock of losing my gallbladder and part of my stomach.....
  9. My doctor told me to sip all day. Carry a water bottle...and sip sip sip.
  10. I had a drain while in the hospital, because my liver was oozing...They took it out before I went home. I also had a catheter so they could watch my urine output. Roxiaa...every day you will feel stronger!

help I need solutions to solving my chocolate cravings

My NUT offered this solution, count out chocale chips (yes the baking kind) and eat them slowly...you can work them in daily.
  13. @ Roxia in general, people are not comfortable with change. When we make changes to ourselves (especially for the better), it makes others uncomfortable, and brings up their own feelings and issues that they are forced to deal with, and unfortunately, sometimes they direct it at us. You must realize it's their problem...NOT YOURS. Realizing it is the way to let go... Then, just take care of you. My husband was scared too. He said " I am afraid to lose you during surgery..." I just looked at him, and I said "you will lose me if I don't do this". And I truly felt that way. Be strong. It's not a cake walk the first few days, but it is not something you can't do. Being heavy is not aa cake walk either, and we have all done that, now lets get healthy! ((hug))
  14. I am feeling much better today. It is easier to get up and down, and have been walking around more. Doing better with the water, but think I am falling a bit short on the protien. I have been drinking more water but not peeing all that much more. I did notice blood in my urine, so I went for a urine culture, just to be sure. Dr. said it may just be from the catheter. results tomorrow. Hope you are doing well tonight Sys! My thoughts are with you.
  15. okay, I am troubled. I had the surgery on Monday, and have not lost one ounce...is this normal? I am definately not overeating...rather struggling to get it all in. thanks!

  17. On the pre op diet I was supposed yo have three shakes a day, and one 500 calorie meal daily. I was able to lose 24lbs prior to surgery. My meals were 4oz lean protien, 2T veggies, 2Tfruit, milk and a carb. Hope that helps.

3 days post op and tired

I am also three days post op, and feeling pretty listless, struggling to get all my fluids in. I think this is normal. Hoping it gets better!
  20. I too had my surgery Monday. I went home Tuesday night. I am still sore, coughing up mucas (not fun), and trying to get in the protien and Water, Finding it's not that easy! I really can't tolerate more than 2-3 T of anything. Dissapointed to find I gained in the hospital, must be all the fluids pumped into me. Every day it's easier to get up and down..that's when I still have the most pain.
