Good morning all. Well I am glad to report after a slow two weeks I finally dropped 6lbs. My goal has been 4-6lbs per week but I keep telling self not to get frustrated it can get made up. I have been drinking a cup of bold coffee everyday. The warmth and caffeine have been helping with the bathroom issues and becoming regular. I think this is also the longest I have ever gone without a bread product. Having trouble getting all my Water in lately. My focus is to do better on that. Glad to see all the progress everyone is making. Anyone, like me, and refusing to buy new clothes? I want to be 80lbs down and have a ways to go.
I'm really trying not to buy new clothes but I'm lucky. I have a friend who had the sleeve and is a few sizes below me so she gives me the things she's outgrown. Lol. I am going to have to buy new panties, though. Instead of them going OUT with my big tummy, my tummy has shrunk so they go UP. Seriously. Talk about granny panties!!!

6 weeks out and finally have energy. This is a major surgery. It takes a while to bounce back from any surgery. They just removed 85% of a major organ. Take it slow and easy. At first your body is in shock and trying to get used to surviving on so few calories.

I had to drink more and raise my calories to start losing again after my stall. I try and get 800 and it's hard to get that much at this point, but if I get 600 and then exercise and burn 500 I'd only have 100 left to try and get through my day. Ain't gonna work.

Got the shot in my heel last Thurs and my heel is fine now. YEA. Weight loss still slow. 19 lbs now. See Dr for 2 mo visit and hope to get released to go to Curves. As long as the weight loss is slow but sure I'm happy.
Thank goodness you're feeling better!! Slow or fast, we all get there as long as we follow the plan

Yup. And pooping helps. Staying regular keeps everything moving along

I eat fatty stuff and lose the next day. Like sausage and bacon. Or a hot link. Not often, but sometimes. I eat too few calories and stall out. Ugh.

I haven't been sleeved and this discussion makes me wonder if I will be afraid to drink too much at first in fear of stretching my new small stomach...is there a definite way to know you shouldn't try to drink anymore? And how long after do you try to drink again?
Oh you'll know. You're not gonna stretch it by drinking too much. It'll just splash back up. Lol

Awesome Jen!!! Congrats one reaching ONEderland!!!

I was stalled for 2 weeks starting right at my 3rd week after surgery. Cool thing was that I had kept up taking my measurements and the inches were still melting off during my stall.

I'll eat a string cheese or half a sugar free pudding if I feel like that. If I don't eat and just go to bed I wake up with hunger about 4am.

I tried it. It hurt so bad that I haven't tried it again.

I'm almost 7 weeks out and I can only drink ice cold drinks. And never Water. I get sick from plain Water. Usually I pour Lipton's diet green tea berry over ice and that's my go-to. And I'm only getting 40-50 ounces. Sometimes I can drink. Sometimes I can't. Just the way it is. Your plight sounds very normal to me. It's a journey, not a race. Take it day by day and do what you can. On full liquids I was lucky to get in 2 ounces at first. But... Like you'll hear over and over again, it gets better.

I feel reeeeeeally fortunate. I started my period monday before I went to bed. I think its already pretty much done. I also had almost no cramps. However, Tuesday and yesterday it was SUPER heavy flow. Like, changing tampons every 3-4 hours. Regular or super ones. Which its never like that for me. I also feel lucky that I can take the pain meds on an empty stomach with no problems. Glad it was an easy fix though!
It was every hour. I'd go through a super tampon AND the pad underneath. No exaggeration. I need to get that ablation done.

Last night I was cramping. I've never cramped on my period like now. Ever. I was curled up cramping so bad that I broke down and took a dose of my liquid codeine. Yeah.... Big mistake. Huge mistake. About 20 min later I woke up to pain in my stomach so severe that I honestly thought I must have a leak n was going to go to the ER. before I went, I remembered taking that on an empty stomach. I staggered into my kitchen and ate about a quarter of a container of sugar free pudding. Within 5 minutes my pain was gone. You live and you learn. This was at 3:30 in the morning. Jeez, I guess I need to log that as a snack. I forgot to do that. Lol

6 week checkup was today. My surgeon was very pleased with my weightloss. Had nothing but praise for me. My underwear fall off now, I guess that's an NSV of sorts. Lol
I'm cleared to exercise with resistance now so I'm excited to work out my arms. It's funny, she said 45 min of a brisk walk burns more calories than running for 10 min. I'm def gonna do some fast power walking and starting yoga.
Looking and feeling better each day. Still can't drink anything room temp, has to be ice cold. Water brings on major nausea. Ugh.
Other than that I'm a happy camper

I just finished my first post op Insanity workout! I feel awesome! It felt so great to push myself that hard again! One thing I did notice though, my compression capris and top don't compress like they used to! I guess that's a good problem to have! How is everyone doing? What do you do to exercise?
Won't be cleared to do anything but walk until Thursday. I'm going to add in beginners yoga and the elliptical.

Did you ever try that tea? Seriously guys. It's $4 for 12 bags and it just takes one to go!
I took MOM and now I can't stop going...

Although. I could use a good poop. It's been since last monday... hah. M.O.M. didn't work for me this time. Took it Saturday before I went to bed. Nothin yet. Which sucks, cause that stuff tastes horrible!
I took 3 TBS this morning. Today is day 3 without going and I've felt like I needed to go all day yesterday. What's that saying? There I sat all broken hearted, needed to poop but only farted...

Anyone step on the scale get an amazing # then get off & back on again and the great # magically disappears.
I never get on the scale more than once. My scale matches my PCP's scale perfectly and never thought about it. Lol

Ok. So I've had a lidoderm patch on for about 2.5 hours. I think they might actually work. So far I've been able to get up off the couch with almost no pain! The first time since surgery. These things might be worth $176. Haha. Disregard my pity party earlier.
Yay!!!! Thank goodness you're getting some relief!

SJ, a level 10 pain at almost 6 weeks out is not "normal". Pain, sure. A level 10 in no way should be happening. At the least, knowing you ripped your scar tissue, they should give you decent pain reliever to take when you're not going to be driving.

I use Bariatric Fusion chewables. They are the consistency of a caramel, but without sticking to your teeth. I got the mixed berry flavor. Yum

So, not the best pic, but me in color AND jeans!
All I can say is "wow!!!!!"

I'm 6 weeks out and can barely get 3 ounces of tuna salad in and it's soft. If I were to eat chicken breast etc it's more like 2
