    8 days and freaking out

It's perfectly normal. This is a lifetime commitment to change. Your chance to start over with your health and a huge step. I think it would be more odd if you weren't on edge after just quitting cold turkey so close to your surgery date. Just try and relax. You're as normal as can be.

    Any Oklahoma Sleevers

That was so funny! I did have a woman ask me when my baby was due and I looked at her and said "about 4 o'clock when the bus pulls up n drops her off"!!!! The look on her face was priceless. My last appointment is dec 2 and then it'll be time to talk to her and get everything scheduled.

    Multiple procedures + sleeve

I don't have a PhD, but I'm pretty sure that it is very common practice to fix the hernia with the sleeve. A hiatal hernia is where a portion of your stomach has bulged above the diaphragm. The surgeon would fix this in order to even perform the VSG. A high majority of surgeons remove the gall bladder if there are any stones present, or remove it as a preventative measure. I know I went back to work about a week after my gall bladder was removed with no problems at all. I haven't had my sleeve yet, so I'm unable to help with an estimated recovery time. Good luck and best wishes on your journey, April

    Medicare

That is going to help a lot of people out that have trouble finding a Center of Excellence nearby. I drive so far. But I am very happy with the surgeon I've chosen and the care I've received thus far.

    Officially Sleeved on Sept. 26th

I have one shake each morning and the rest of my day is like Atkins. But small portions. For three months. But that daily shake tears up my tummy. I'm gonna try it with kefir next. Both Water and nonfat milk were so disgusting, then add on top of that the diarrhea. Omg. I already take protonix twice a day for IBS and GERD. I didn't have any problems til these shakes. I guess this is how I'm gonna lose preop weight... Running to the restroom all day. Lol My surgery is hopefully in December.

Horrible this is happening to you but at least I know I'm not alone. I can't stray far from the porcelain throne after my Protein shake. I'm preop and am on a supervised diet. Having one protein shake a day is a requirement. Ugh.

    Low Vitamin D

At my first appt I was put on 50 k a week. I was told if it was too low that it could delay my surgery until it rose to a certain level
  17. Bow chica wow wow.... You look great!!
  18. I'm on a three month diet, but it's not due to an insurance stipulation. It's something my weight loss clinic does.
  19. Yeah. I think it's going to be very doable. I lost a lot of weight on Atkins before... Of course I gained it back lol. I tried my first Bariatric Advantage shake today and it was like I'm being punished! Ha! I'm sure I can choke them down and get used to them.
  20. Mine was different. I went to my surgeon who is at a Center Of Excellence ( Journey Clinic ) first and they did everything for me. Scheduled all of my weight mgmt/nut appointments, psych, physical therapy evaluation, etc. all I have to do is show up to my appts and stick to the diet outlined. They are the ones who contacted my insurance ( Medicare Humana Gold ) and regular doctor and it has been easy as pie so far.
