Help! What kind of surgery am i having?
SuperFab replied to Kay York's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not say gall bladder unless it is being removed at the same time. Most sleevers end up having theirs removed later. Then how would you explain having your gall bladder removed when you already told them you had it removed six months ago? Most people go with hernia repair. -
I hope like hell you told the doc what she said. First off, that is illegal. Even insinuating what you are there for is in violation of HIPPA policy. The doctor NEEDS to know what this staff member said and that others heard her. Even if you have to call back, do so. If the Dr's nurse calls back you need to ask that you speak directly to the Dr about a violation of HIPPA policy. The Dr will then definitely get on the line or return your call. Trust me, it will be nipped in the bud.

Coffee is a diuretic. It makes most people go to the restroom. Sleevers already have difficulty getting their liquids in the first bit after surgery, so the Dr doesn't want anything else that can aid dehydration. This is one reason coffee is a no-no right after the sleeve.

I'm like "am I getting hit on and just don't know it?!?!" When I saw Laura's post. "Jeez, have I forgotten the signs of being hit on?!?!" Lol It was pretty funny.

Wow! You're the same age as I am and your story sounds so much like mine. I was in a fall on ice and hit the curb. I wasn't paralyzed but used a walker for a year. Because I was sedentary I gained a lot of weight fast. I thought about going to Mexico but found out Medicare does the sleeve and it took like 3 days got approval. Good luck and best wishes. April -
Are you on any kind of supervised diet? I wish my surgery was the 23rd. Lucky duck
-
Well next time I'll holla at you
-
Omg. U sound so much like me if I'm not listening to music. That is me 5 nights out of 7.

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
SuperFab replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Classic symptom of GERD. I have it, have had it for years and the only reason my surgeon is allowing me to continue on with having the sleeve is because it's been controlled by protonix twice daily for over six months. Being propped when sleeping really does help, but I'm a tummy sleeper, so my daily ppi was doubled. I tried omeprezole but it didn't work for me. Also, I wasn't to take any other acid reducer like tums or liquid mylanta, as my doctor said it makes my protonix less effective. Good luck, I know how scary and painful it is. April
