    Attitude And Emotions

Mine wouldn't be as fun. I'm all alone. Time to buy batteries.
  3. I'm a meal skipper too. I'd go all day and then eat a huge meal for dinner Bc I'd let myself get too hungry. My nut has told me if I gain weight during my supervised visits that they'd extend me. I was told that meal skipping needs to be nipped in the bud before surgery, as that cannot happen afterward. She said if I cannot stomach eating breakfast that I am to have one Protein drink, then a small healthy meal of meat and veggies for lunch and dinner. If I get hungry, she listed a couple of snack I can have. Yogurt, low fat cottage cheese or a piece of fruit. This is to get me in the habit of eating how I'll be eating after surgery. It's hard. I've lost 10 pounds and my last visit is December 6. I try and tell myself that if I cannot stick to this, how am I gonna do my preop? I just wanted to let you know I totally feel where you're coming from. April

    Band Or Sleeve?

I think complications with the band is higher. I've even read that some bariatric doctors are no longer doing the band, but have went with going with the sleeve and bypass only. Read the complications in the band forum. In two days my sister converts from band to sleeve. Slippage, scar tissue and erosion are just a few band complications. Also trying to find that "sweet spot" where your fill is perfect can take years. It did for her. You have to research and then research some more. Then at the end of the day, go with what you feel is right for you.
  6. Hmmm. Interesting. I normally pay $3.60 copay per prescription.

    Terrible Psych Eval :(

My psych eval could only be done by the psych the bariatric clinic uses. The clinic uses only their own. I'm bipolar and see a psychiatrist on a regular basis and that wasn't acceptable. I had to use my weightloss clinic's psych. And of course she didn't accept either of my insurances. So that was $300 charged to my card. But.... My psych was open, friendly and said I was a good candidate (my bipolar disorder had to be stabilized for at least 6 months, and I've been stable for well over a year) for the sleeve. The only thing she wanted was a letter from my psych faxed to her answering 7 questions about diagnosis, emotional stability, etc. I hear all these horror stories about psych evals with jerks for a psych and consider myself lucky. Anybody got tattoos??

My favorite one is my Jiminy Cricket on my shoulder. Jiminy stands for a person's conscience, so my Jiminy has a black eye, his arm is in a sling and his clothes are a little disheveled. I'm always fighting my conscience..... I try to be a good girl, but well, shit happens

  16. When I move to Washington state I'll be able to legally obtain weed for my spinal damage, not sure if I will, it's been a loooong time since I've smoked any, but it's food for thought. Who am I kidding? I'm sure I will. Lol

    The Diet ?

My nut said that I'll have three weeks full liquids after surgery. Others only have one or two weeks. Just follow whatever your surgeon says so you don't harm your new tiny tummy.

What's the story behind your profile name?

Even when I was a small size seven I always had a pooch above my c-section scar that I referred to as "super fatty". Maybe one day once I reach goal for a year, I'll get to change that with plastics. Lol

    Gossip About The New Neighbors

I've never seen anyone as crazy as her on these boards and I had an account, got locked out of it and then started this one a few months ago. So in about a yr and a half she's the craziest I've seen. So self-righteous.

And I'm gonna have a sit-down with my kids. They are ages 17, 18 and 22. Old enough to understand.
  23. I wouldn't mind having a nurse all mellowed out on weed. She'd be less bitchy than the other nurses. Lmao

    Attitude And Emotions

Wow. I honestly just thought it was me. I'm bipolar and I've been "stable" on these meds for over a year, which is difficult to do. My last appt before surgery is scheduled is in a couple of weeks and I feel like a ticking time-bomb of emotions. I feel better just reading that it isn't just me. That other people understand. April

    Warning Kinda Gross

My friend's 19 year old daughter passed away from leukemia. Had hair loss off and on since she was in the 5th grade. I guess to me there are always worse reasons for hair loss. I'm not in any way trying to downplay your feelings, just trying to state that it could always be worse. Hang in there, it'll grow back.
