  1. Lol. It's killing me!!!! I'm on pins and needles now. It'll be a waiting game. Me waiting for that call telling me everything is good to go and then I'll finally be able to relax.
  2. Keep the journal coming, I definitely enjoy a peek into your journey.
  3. Yes, Medicaid picks up the costs Medicare doesn't cover and also pays your monthly price for Medicare. So I don't have that coming out of my disability check Bc Medicaid pays for it. I'll help in any way I can. You can pm me if u need, April
  4. Thank you!! I'm sorta at that "am I making the right decision" phase that so many people go through... But I know I am. I'm ready to feel better physically and hope this weightloss will ease my back pain.
  5. I was asked that as well. My surgery center spaces out nut appointments for every 30 days, but that was the center. Not Medicare.
  6. Also I have a 45 BMI, HBP, severe spinal stenosis and just got a CPAP yesterday. Apparently I have severe sleep apnea. On their scale a 15 is mild apnea, a 30 is moderate apnea and anything over a 35 is considered severe. I was 85!!! So I definitely have comorbidities.
  7. No, I just had to attend a seminar, see a physical therapist once, a psych once, go to a support group meeting and have 3 nut appointments. I also had a sleep study and stress test done. Those were per my regular physician, but my surgeon asked for a copy of the results. Medicare has a $1184 deductible. But I also have Medicaid, which I was told would cover that as a secondary insurance. With Medicare it's not a 6 month wait.
  8. My surgery center spaced the nutrition appts 30 days apart. They set everything up for me as far as any needed appointments. I'm also Oklahoma.
  9. Exactly the same, but I also have Medicaid, which I was told would cover the $1184. My wait was not a 6 month wait. Just as long as I met the requirements, which included 3 nutrition appointments that were 30 days apart.
  10. I laughed at that!!! It took me a minute to realize it was a typo as well.
  11. I guess I wasn't approved Bc I never received anything.
  12. I take 10,000 iu of vitamin d every week and I had no idea that was what was making me constantly get up so many times to pee. I learn something new every day.

  20. I just wanted to say that I'm not anti-Dr. Nick. I know someone who had his sleeve performed by him and would recommend him in a heartbeat. He's a few pounds from goal and is doing great. What rankled me is saying he didn't have ANY complications, which is a bold-faced lie. April

    Gift Ideas For Teens?

I can't buy my 17yo daughter clothes. She'd hate them. I do gift cards to Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. This year I am also getting her her own scentsy Bc I know she wanted one. I found some knitted leg warmers for $6 each at Rue 21 and got them Bc you wear them under your tall boots with just a little showing at the top. Other than that, I'm at a loss.
  22. If they're so confident then they should tell their patients that they'll handle any complications and make it a guarantee. They won't. Especially if you're self-pay like my brother-in-law.
  23. Antibiotics are the way to go. It should clear up any infection if there is any. Bacitracin will keep it nice and clean. On any surgery I've ever had they wouldn't let me keep gauze on there past the first two days. They always told me they wanted it to dry out, but I've never had any incision not heal except for one in my belly button when I had my gall bladder removed. It just would not freaking heal and my surgeon told me to stop using neosporin and stop covering it. I did and it healed great. You can't even tell there's a scar there. But.... Yours is possible infection so follow your doctors orders to a T
  24. I know. Just stick to it the best you can and try to think as people contacting you as a positive thing. As a reassurance. They say the pre-op diet is the hardest part so try, try, try. April
  25. Complications don't happen with dr nick? That's bullshit. My brother-in-law went to him and got the band. It wasn't placed correctly. It wasn't that it slipped, it wasn't placed correctly the first time Bc his barium swallow showed that. He couldn't get anything down but a trickle. So they emptied his band but wanted to charge him to fix it. (He is self-pay). They are the ones who screwed up and wanted to charge him. Now he's getting a revision to the sleeve after fighting them for over 6 months. Unfortunately, he has to use them for the revision or he'll have to come up with several thousand dollars to do self-pay again with a different surgeon. Every surgeon can have complications. April
