SuperFab replied to Themachine28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lots of people get the lower sodium options and do that with it -
Are you still on an antacid?

Bone pain? Weird question!
SuperFab replied to UNbLIVable's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you were heavier you dispersed your weight differently. You walked with pressure on different areas than you do now. You will adapt a different gait when you walk as you lose weight, dispersing your weight differently. There are several threads about this that I've come across while researching. -
Not only are they irritant, but they are a diuretic. They make you go potty. Especially coffee. It's hard enough to get your fluids in to keep you from getting dehydrated without coffee. Add in coffee and you're going to the bathroom more. That's why a lot of people say coffee gives them diarrhea and if they are constipated they just drink a cup. Well, it's what my nut says anyway. I can't have it til I'm over 6 months out and am getting at least 64 ounces of liquid in.

Gapapentin and the sleeve
SuperFab replied to Busytee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I took a very large dose of it three times a day for a yr and in that year alone I gained 75 pounds. I was sedentary due to an injury and the highlight of my day was what I'd be eating for dinner. Combine those two and WHAM!! I am so glad I was switched to Lyrica. It's a more efficient drug for pain in your nerves and I'm able to actually walk without a walker now because my spine isn't killing me as much. The best thing is that I'm not gaining. I'll never go back to Neurontin (gabapentin) again. -
Thank you and I don't know about the ticker. I only use the phone app and haven't even seen people's tickers. Have you used the search bar and typed "tickers" in there? If nobody answers on here you may need to search it out. April

First Meeting with Surgeon

Exactly what she said. And don't think you'll just remember the questions. Chances are you won't. My list included if I would have a drain, will I be injecting my own blood thinners after like some members do, etc. -
Thank you so much!

Height is a big deal to me. I just cannot date someone shorter than I am! It feels so weird to me. God bless Nicole Kidman when she was with Tom Cruise.... But I can't do it and you need to be with someone who "fits". Keep casting that line and the right fish will bite.

Not me. I'm mean!!! Grrr!

Lots of guys! You'll find lots as you navigate your way around. My date is about a month after yours and I'm already an emotional wreck. Lol. I hear it's normal. April

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your boss, who was also a good friend to you. I know losing someone, especially out of the blue, can be very hard. On another note, congrats on the 30 pound loss!! Now go get those size 16's girl!!! April -
I know mine is severe. They have it cranked up to 14 out of 18 and they did say as far as the rating goes 15 is mild, 30 is moderate, 35 and above is severe and I'm an 85. But I get less sleep with it on.

Can loose skin be minimized
SuperFab replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost a lot of weight doing the HCG diet and I thought my skin was so soft, but firm from the brushing. You brush toward your heart, not in circles is the way I did it though. It stimulates the skin cells to heal. If you have the right kind of all-natural Tampico brush it really works wonders. I just ordered me a new one off Amazon. I'm gonna start using it as soon as it arrives. The way I see it, it's definitely not gonna hurt your skin, and anything that will benefit, or could benefit, I'm gonna try. April -
Can loose skin be minimized
SuperFab replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Skin brushing is rarely acknowledged on here, but I've heard it really firms up the skin if you do it every day before your shower. -
Haven't tried a cannula. I'll call and see if it will be something I can try. Thanks

I have a deviated septum so I breathe out my mouth when I sleep, hence a face mask. I've always slept on my sides Bc of spinal stenosis and I just can't sleep on my back. Way too painful. The mask is awful. I feel like I'm suffocating with something covering my face. I keep trying but it gets no better.

People in Ketosis, and people on a very high protein/low carb diet sweat out an ammonia smell. It's common in gyms to smell like ammonia because of this.

Highest dosage of what? I have severe GERD and a history of ulcers and had to go through several PPI's until I was put on protonix twice daily. Now I feel good as gold.

I've tried wearing mine every night for almost a month and get no sleep. I'm super aware of it there. I feel so claustrophobic. The longest I've been able to wear it is 2 hours and it was not good rest at all.
