Hi you. I am just saying what she told me. That the amt of protein absorbed was deceiving. You don't absorb whatever percentage is from protein collagen. Keep in mind that ingredients are listed in the order of highest percentage included to lowest. On those shots protein collagen is usually listed as the first or second protein source, which means they can be 75% of the protein source, and won't be absorbed efficiently. Of course my nut is so dang strict....

Same as above with Medicare as primary. But my weightloss clinic had their won criteria as well, so definitely ask. April

I had lots of food funerals. I'm down 18 pounds and would've been down more had I not, but I'm glad I did. I wasn't out of control. I'd make a conscious decision to have certain things so I did. I know you CAN eat whatever you want after a while, but I don't want to. When I say goodbye to certain things I want it to mean goodbye. For good. My surgery is February 18 and I've already cut out a lot of what I'm supposed to, getting my head on straight. April

My nut said not to use the shots that they are collagen, which isn't absorbed efficiently. I have read somewhere that there is a really high quality shot that you can order online that aren't. Look on the label for collagen. If it's on there, then it's practically worthless.

Yeah. I get to feeling that way too. But then I think of all of the reasons I need to do the surgery and it keeps me going. I have spinal problems and need this pressure off my spine and joints. Also have sleep apnea and high bp. This surgery is gonna be a lifesaver. April.

you CAN do it the old fashion way. It'll just come back. Studies are showing that you're right. Regain IS imminent. This isn't an easy way out so stop beating yourself up. If you needed an organ worked on to save your life and stop you from dying you would do it. Well, that's what you're doing. Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy to keep her from getting breast cancer. Her tests showed it was imminent she'd get it and she took the precautions needed to stay alive. You are taking the steps you need to stave off heart conditions, diabetes, sleep apnea and tons of other serious illnesses that are obesity related and can cause death. Stop beating yourself up. I pushed mine from January to February Bc I had too much on my plate with my daughter's school activities. It sucks but it gives me another month to get my head on straight. You just gang in there and it'll be here before you know it. April

Exactly! I know that the clinic where my sister works have at least half the women in there sleeved. Which is awesome. But... Most of them do stuff I won't do. Like eat whatever they want. Lol. I'm gonna take advantage of my honeymoon period.

I know this is crazy but when I had my gall bladder out I started an earlier period. It was the day after my surgery. Then I had the worst periods ever after my tubes were tied. I think any surgery throws it out of whack. I think you're totally right.

My sister and closest friend have both had it. My sister was banded over 10 yrs ago in Mexico and had great results. Lost about 130-140 pounds. But her band screwed up and she had to convert to the sleeve so she wouldn't regain. My friend had hers over a year ago and has lost about 140 pounds. At least when we do go out to eat we can all 3 share! Lol I mainly talk about it with those 2 and what's funny is my sister always asked ME questions even though she's sleeved and I'm not because she knows I'm always on here. April

Jeez!! I'm so sorry that happened to you. And the doctors disagreeing. That's crazy. Hang in there and I hope you get to feeling stronger and better soon.

So glad everything went well with the scope! I know, I'm up til the wee hours of the morning on the board and googling stuff. I think my friends and family may strangle me beforehand because I won't shut up about it. Lol

I know!!! It's crazy!!! I go from doubt to fear to excitement. I keep telling myself all the benefits and my daughter is such a cheerleader for me, which helps a lot. It is getting closer n closer and I feel obsessed because I keep making lists of what I need for the hospital and for after I get home etc. then I rewrite them. Lol April

Sarahjane, I have tatts too. It's the whole intravenous part. But heck yeah I'll definitely ask for it to be numbed. I'm sorry that it took a bit to get yours in. How did the EGD go? I don't have to have one but know they tell a lot of info about ulcers, hernias, etc.

When doubt creeps in I struggle a lot with being positive. Then I think of all of the benefits of this surgery and get excited all over again. It's definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions. April
