    Marijuana

As for, did she attack anyone, telling someone she needs to "take a puff" was an attack of sorts. It was very rude and may be against that person's views toward smoking pot.

"Communities of color" isn't the same as saying what you said. And yes, calling someone a "colored" person is offensive to lots of people. You even had an African American state to please not use the N word or the term "colored". And yes, stop-and-frisk is an extreme form of racism. Not the most extreme, but blatant.

If you were racist you'd be Pro stop and frisk"??? Jesus, racism comes at different levels and that's pretty extreme. Anyway, nobody called you racist. They said they were offended by your lack of being even halfway politically correct. Please don't twist words into something they are not.
  4. If you only knew how inspirational you are! Amazing job!!! April

    lifestyle changes

I'm caffein-free, cut out soda, fast foods and any fried foods. No corn, peas or potatoes. I have such a difficult time not drinking while I eat that I'm not even going to get a drink until 30 minutes after I eat.

    February/March 2014 sleevers

I go the 3rd for all of my pre-op stuff and I'm so excited. Sure, the worry creeps in but I know that this is really gonna save my life. As real as it is, so is sleep apnea, high blood pressure and being unable to walk much Bc of all the pressure from extra weight on my spine and hips. We got this! Chin up

Dayum. I'm "colored". I'm colored a pale pinkish- white. Wish I was "colored" tan, but alas, the Irish heritage overtook the American Indian in me. I found it pretty offensive. Just sayin

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Stay strong. They say this is the worst part. You can do this.
  10. No gallbladder here and I'm like that all the time. I don't start my pre-op diet until the 4th but I know that my protein shakes give me diarrhea anyway. I've tried all kinds. A lady on here recommended questran. It's a powder you mix into liquid and drink. By Rx only

Why so many pre op diets?

Other than different BMI's dictating, I think it's just a surgeons personal preference. Some like to really only have you do liquids, while some have you also eat protein n veggies, others have nothing but maybe a 3-day or 24 hour liquids. And everything in between. I think some have their personal "gold standard" and if it works for them they stick with it. Of course, this is just a personal opinion.
  16. Bariatric fusion all-in-one is what I just ordered. Was 23 bucks for a month and a half supply.
  17. So, Sarah asked me last night if I'd had any food funerals. I had to admit I definitely had and I still plan 2 more. My pre-op diet starts in a couple of weeks and there is a deep dish pizza and an Italian place that serves a lasagna in alla panna sauce. I'm not one of those that are going to just "eat in moderation". I can't do that. Carbs are major trigger foods for me so I plan on sticking to my Drs meal plan the best I can. I'm sure there may be days where I "backslide", but I'm hoping for the best. Here is my question: What did/is your final food funeral gonna consist of? April

Sliced cukes is an awesome idea. Thanks
  22. I tried to give my 17 year old daughter the barest of facts and she researched, YouTube'd, watched My 600 Pound Life... Then told me she'd researched herself. She was proud of my decision and not to let what anyone's says bother me. (In a nutshell) So I'm gonna say go with your heart on this one. I feel like I should've offered more info to my daughter and spoke to her about it more, but she's 17. Personally, if I had a 7 yr old I wouldn't go into too much detail because I wouldn't want to scare them, but I'd probably tell him that things were gonna be different. That we were going to be changing what we do and how we eat in order to stay healthy. And probably leave it at that. I know others go into greater detail but I'm not one to do that with a really young child.
  23. Well you'll find the new you and figure it out. You just have to stay upbeat and positive. Instead of being the fat friend, you're gonna be the friend. And if others in your circle are shitty about it, then they aren't true to your friendship. Period. You shouldn't have to earn your place in a friendship that already exists. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. Get to know what the new you wants out of friendship and go from there. April

Whose start weight is 255 or more?

I'm 5'7" and started at 301. It actually shocked me that I weighed that much when I saw it. I'm now 283 and will surely lose more on my pre-op diet before my actual day of surgery, which is Feb 18th. I'm not at all scared I won't lose the weight. I'm in it to win it. I know it'll be hard. The hardest thing I'll probably ever do, but this tool is going to give me my life back and I plan on living it to the fullest. At goal. April
