Something interesting about all the profile pics
ReDbEaN replied to Justinh125's topic in Rants & Raves
Nowhere near 21 anymore, and this pic was, I think, 4 weeks out. Angle and lighting like everyone else said...PLUS...EVERYONE carries their weight different. and I HATE full body shots! The pre pic on my profile is probably the ONLY full body I have had in years!! It was taken the weekend before my surgery. So at least I have something to compare to. -
I like your posts!

I CAN say the scale hasn't moved in about a week, BUT... my clothes are looser...soooooo For now, I will be happy with that:)

Maybe I just haven't experienced that part of it yet, the part where people tell me rude things. I don't plan to tell anyone what my pre-surgery weight was, but I do tell them how much i've lost. People ARE rude though. O M G...like really?? I cannot understand some folks' rudeness!!! And I do agree, I have had some soul-searching since this began and i'm a newbie!!

Aww...you should be PROUD of yourself!! Not thinking you were a (fill in the blank)!!!

It takes a while, I'm five weeks out and it's pretty much just stopping that...are you on a PPI? -
I'm not sure I have (or had) a food addiction. Sure I like to eat, I like to cook and bake and eat. The only thing I KNOW I love too much is bread...always HAVE loved bread - I swear it's genetic because from my paternal grandfather down we ALL love bread. My grandmother used to make him homemade biscuits twice a day and he would eat 5-6 at one meal (and of course HE was a thin man). Do I think I was addicted to bread...eh, possibly, but I am not "dying" to have it. I do eat some cheddar pumpkin seed crackers now and am satisfied with that. We all have different reasons for needing this surgery and different battles to fight. I do find the support here has been amazing for me. I surely hope that we can help one another fight those food battles and not encourage/enable them. That being said, I don't need anyone to tell me the food choices I make at times are wrong, or ask their permission, or get their "ok", when I do something, it's on ME, and yes I have posted about things I ate that were taboo, but it wasn't for someone to validate it or tell me I was wrong. Maybe that's just me, maybe some people do need validation or someone to tell them they are wrong...I sure hope i have made sense in this post. I just know I am appreciative for the "help" i've gotten on VST:)

From what I know from my NUT, dr, and here...weighing everyday is discouraged. It will come off, just be a lil more patient. Good Luck:)

Hahaha! I suppose you can count it as an NSV! I don't know if I would! I had a hysterectomy a few years ago and do NOT miss having a period at all, but I can understand how if you haven't been regular for years how it could be exciting

I had problems swallowing at first as well. It is waaaay better now. Take smaller bites if necessary, that helped me for sure.
-
Welcome, I was sleeved 5 weeks ago. It will change your life. Good luck:)

Laura-ven told me about a protein hot chocolate, I should get it in today, so I will let you know when I get it in how it is. I cannot wait to try it:)

Ahhhh...the draw of the bread (pre-opper musing)
ReDbEaN replied to McButterpants's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I am a breadaholic too! It's been...well...difficult BUT I find the longer I am without it, the better I am with not wanting it. Thankfully! I still have yet to go to Olive Garden, cuz I LOVE their breadsticks and not quite sure I could pass them up! I would rather bread than dessert!!! Anyway...if I at least KNOW what my downfall then maybe it'll be easier to overcome???? I think -
He can have protein and veggies once he starts soft-regular foods...so if you make a lean meat and veggies for dinner I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard. The hubby loves beef stew and I just eat the broth, beef(if it's soft enough), and veggies. I don't mind not having the rice. That's what I do. And I keep the foods I can eat here ALL the time. I don't run out of my protein-rich foods, that keeps me from just grabbing my families snacks. Hope this helps
