I was sleeved on 9/11/13...everything was going great until my 2nd week post surgery. I started experiencing severe gas and I'm not talking a little oops here n there, I'm talking gas trapped in my chest. I try to burp it out, I try to rock back n forth on the toilet to release it out that way...yet nothing! Did I mention..not one bowel movement since I got home on 9/12. Been on the phone with my Dr this morning, he suggested magnesium citrate, so I bought a bottle and plan to stay in for the day. Gosh I really hope this works, I'm in so much pain with the pressure coming from both ends I just want a big blowout of relief!!! Anyone else that's 6months-1year post surgery ever experience this dilemma...please do tell...it helps the rest of us rookies. Thank you

Thanks for all of your tips. I went and bought the gas x strips, mirilax & papaya enzymes. Everything has helped tremendously!

My surgery is @8am. I'm at the hospital just waiting to be called in. I am more excited than I am nervous. I had my gallbladder out back in the 90's so I'm all too familiar with the gas pain. It goes away fast if you keep moving, I'm a lot older now so we'll see how it goes. Good luck on everyone's journey!
