sorry Natalie ( Mary without sound) (thought your name was mary keep your focus i know its so easy to say that ..three years ago i was on anti depressants etc just a fat bloke with a broken heart but the weight loss has been my escape and my way to focus and i thought this day of October the 9th would never come.. i seem to be opposite to most in that if life is crap i tend to just not eat ,but if life is good and happy well i just eat lots of bad things lol ..we are all here for you .hope the pre op went ok and the op is as good as it can be x -

Going in for my sleeve on 10/9 so not long .. I tend to weigh 1 per month or else you could go mad .. But then again I have lost at least 150 lb since starting 3 years ago but whatever weight I loose I am still fat so god willing the sleeve will help me along my journey .. Currently I am around 355 lb ..

hi all i am a 49 year old man in the UK (cheltenham Gloucestershire) with very little support and this website forum is a godsend..i have been on this battle all my life and at my heaviest was around 38 stone..i lost big chunks of weight and it always started to creep back on so 3 years ago after a relationship break up it was a lightbulb above the head moment and i decided i had had enough of being the fat bloke every one stared at and decided on wls and after 3 years struggle i have at last got my surgery date of October the 9th 2013 !!.. i have been on an 800 calorie a day diet for the last 2 weeks and have lost another 17lb but would not break that diet as too scared to eat as the nerves are beginning to creep in and yes a little doubt but i know without the vsg barrier the weight would return..i will be going into hospital on my own and have my pre op on the 2nd October..i have never had an operation or broke a bone or had a stitch and for a man of my size ( now around 26 stone) i am reasonably fit ..so any support from fellow strugglers or sleevers would be great as as i said im pretty much on my own ..thanks all Richard xxx

I have not struggled at all on the 800 calorie diet , I think it is because I had imagined a whole month on liquids etc.. I gave hard boiled eggs apples .. Ryvita with the blue cheese laughing cow , always a few polo mints and my daily treat is a werthers original at bedtime and in three weeks I have lost around 11 kilo -

Hello my name is Richard from Cheltenham .. Had the pre op today ready for my op on the 9th October -
Oops diets not duets
-
Hi gojogo nice to hear from someone who has had the op as we have that to come and all the worry about ifs and buts .. Your weight loss is great and difference with the sleeve is it will keep going unlike the endless duets we have all done which as we now is always temporary weight loss ...
-
Hello uk sleever .. Will do and please keep me updated on how you get on too its nice to have someone going roughly down the same path as me ..what made you opt for the full bypass instead of just the sleeve ? .
-
Hi all I have been on a pre op diet of 800 calories a day which was the best option for me as I can use calories for milk in decaf coffee and also have polo mints as well as a little normal ish food I have lost 11 kilo (23lb) in three weeks and have pre op appointment in the morning ( October the 1st) .. I am a bit like a fish out of water in hospitals and I am beginning to get apprehensive but I know without it the weight I have currently lost will return it always does plus a lot more .. I never thought I would get this close as I used to easily eat 6000 calories a day and was close to being bed ridden and at the point of giving up my ankles hurt and I had bad acid at night .. Then my partner left me for another and despite bring fat I always provided for the family and gad a warm heart ... Yes I am scared about the op on the 9th but have found wonderful warm stories from all on here and I just wanted to say if I have got this far you can too as I was out if control eating wise .. I have thoughts of next summer in my head hoping I am in a good place weight wise can get nicer clothes on and maybe get back some confidence and even perhaps find love again .. RIchard x

Well done mate my story is just like yours and it is definitely not the easy way. .. I'm due to be sleeved here in the uk on 9 th October .. I just want to not be noticed in a crowd . Not have the seatbelt extension on a plane and experience every ride at a theme park as been to fat in the past so I just did not go .. Been big since I was 5 and missed out of so much life has to offer and wish I had done this at 29 not 49 .. Rich

The 9th for me it's surreal and almost in a dream. Is it the right thing ???? But I know without it the weight creeps back plus a lot more
