  1. I was sleeved on 9/5/13 and have lost 90-94 pounds. I have had no issues with my surgery, but my SIL is two weeks out and is having a hard time. She has been unable to keep anything down and has been back in the hospital for a week and a day now. At first they thought her esophagus was swollen and that everything was staying there instead of dumping into her stomach. they were waiting to let her heal from surgery before attempting and EGD to dilate the esophagus. They did the EGD yesterday and found her esophagus was fine but midway through her stomach was so swollen it was shutting everything off. They did the balloon to open it back up and felt it would solve all her issues. However, she still was throwing up last night when she tried to drink even a little. she is dehydrated still and was not drinking enough to begin with when she initially got home from the hospital. Has anyone else had this issue or heard of anyone else? I am just at a loss of what to say to her or to think because I didn't have problems.
  2. She is finally able to keep fluids down but still dehydrated. Trying to get her hydrated so she can go home. They started her on azithromicin (sp) to help wake up her gut. That is her explanation. Hope it works and all goes well from here on out.

    Protein shakes

Not gonna lie, it is hard. After surgery, your taste buds will probably change anyway. Everyone says to get the unflavored unjury and add it to Soup and shakes. I haven't tried it but I drink the Muscle Milk. It isn't as bad to me as some of the others. They have some Isopure drinks at GNC that are in glass bottles kind of like Gatorade. They are Clear liquids. I have tried the apple melon and it is good. That may be an option. I think it has 20 grams Protein. Good luck!

I had a hernia too and they fixed it when they did my surgery. Just had mine done on 9/5/13.
