  1. Hi, per my doctor she told me (at three months) to try and get the majority of my Protein from food. Around month 2.5 it was almost impossible for me to drink the shakes. They make me so sick. Now that I can eat regular foods it's not so much of a chore. I saw you were only at 3 weeks, so I'm sure that doesn't help you much, but I did stomach the shakes as much as I could. I had low fat cheese, mashed Beans (any kind, but I still can't stomach chili too much), Turkey lunch meat. I hope it gets easier for you.

    depressed

Hi, has your doctor prescribed an antacid? Maybe that will help. I had a problem with that in the beginning. The prescription helped alot.

How Do You Deactivate An Account?

Question......why is the only "option" to never log in again? Why can't my profile be deleted?
  4. Interesting article posted today. I'm sure it doesn't apply to most of us, but it might be worth a read. http://blog.sfgate.com/chronrx/2014/03/31/water-how-much-to-drink/

    Water: How much to drink?

Why would I be offended? Everyone has an opinion, just like you. As stated above, it's an interesting read, whether you believe it or not.

    Living on fruit

I could live on fruits also. My doctor told me to be careful with the watermellon and grapes. They have a lot of suger. I eat a lot of cuties and apples (no skin). They are my afternoon Snacks. Love them! Can't wait for a mango! Oh, and I can't forget the fruit smooties!! OHHH YEA!!!!

Did you have heel spurs or plantar fasciitis...

I have/had?? heel spurs. I haven't gone to the pediatrist to have my feet checked recently. I had to have shots in my heels because they were so painful. My pediatrist said it had a lot to do with my weight, but I must say since I have lost all this weight my feet do not hurt.....at all. I was told the next option was surgery to have them shaved down (that was a few years back), so I suffered through it.

Frustrated and tired of string cheese!

Protein shakes make me sick, but fruit smoothies make me feel a lot better when I can't keep anything down, or don't have an appetite.

Frustrated and tired of string cheese!

Are you able to tolorate smoothies? I was only able to tolorate limited items also (string cheese was and is still one of them), but I also have smoothies as my go to as well. I don't know if that is an option for you, but it's worth a try. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

    Clothes - what to do?

I understand exactly what you're saying! I HAD to go buy clothes last weekend. My clothes were sooo baggy and saggy it just got to be too much! I have been buying smaller belts so I can keep my pants up. I still can't believe I can fit a size 12/14. I don't remember when the last time that was. I'm definitely not complaining. It does get hard to keep up lol. I hope I don't end up like a bobble head!

How long before you can work?

Hi, are you going to be lifting heavy objects? If you are you may be a little sore. It all depends on your recovery. The first two weeks were very difficult for me (sore and tired), and at three weeks I couldn't lift anything over 10lbs without some soreness (and I was advised by my doctor not to lift anything heavy until after 6 weeks). I was so tired all the time, up until 3 weeks out. My energy was much better after 4 weeks though. I think it really depends on you, and your recovery. Everyone recovers differently. Hopefully yours will be easy, breezy.
  14. Its interesting that you mention teeth. I last week noticed my front teeth would move. Not a major shift, but I would have a small feeling of shifting. It hasn't happened this week (it freaked me out last week). I am going to bring it up to my doctor when I go next week. I'm getting my calcium/citrate in, and I know I don't have Calcium deficiencies. So it will be interesting to see what he says.
  15. OMG I was thinking the same thing so I ask and was told after I do the 6 months I had nothing to worry about I was in fear paying money for my 6 month classes etc to just be denied .........FYI - I am in the beginning stage Good luck to you! I am sure everything will work out for you. I thin I lost the majority of my weight waiting for approval!

    Soft foods

My go to has been mozerella sticks, pinto Beans, turkey lunch meat (rolled up) and (baked) chicken. For me the chicken needs to be very tender or it doesn't sit well. I still can't tolerate pork. I just had some carne asada today (first time, small portion) it was delicious!

    Period during surgery, please help!

I started mine the day before. When I went to the hospital they gave me the disposable hospital panties and the hospital pads (long one). I woke up with both of them still on. They (the disposable panties) were actually very comfortable.
  18. I have resistance bands too and they are great aren't they? Did yours come with a DVD? Mine came with a DVD with about 25 different ways to use them (over the door, between the door jam, or solo). I also found K- bands. You can use them on your legs when ur walking. Helps build leg muscles (and football players use them to help make them faster, my son uses them). I need to build leg muscles .
  19. definitely! I tried just a small teaspoon of rice. It tasted horrible. And all I could think of was THANK GOODNESS! Rice was my weakness, and since it tasted so bad, I don't have the urg to try it at all. I'm thankful about that! I can't tolerate pork at all either.
  20. I had to wait six months. My insurance company wanted me to have monthly weigh ins and make sure I was committed to this life changing surgery. At first I was discouraged about the wait time, but when it was said and done it worked out for me. The main thing going through my mind was "what if I go through all this and they deny me". My doctors office reassured me everything would be fine (as far as approvals), and it was.

    Spicy food

I wasn't a spicy food eater prior to surgery, but now it's even worse. It does a number on my stomach! PAIN!

    "Sharting"

I haven't had any issues with sharting yet "thank goodness" BUT, farting is an issue sometimes. Usually after Protein. I will be walking and all of a sudden out comes the fart. I just keep walking and pretend I didn't hear it and hope to God it doesn't smell!
