    How about Quinoa?

They sell it already made at costco. It's in the section with the sandwhiches and the pre-made packaged meals. A lady I know swears by it. She loves it. I haven't brought myself to try it . I've walked by it a couple of times and once even put it in my cart.....but I couldn't do it .

    Northern California Sleevers?

Hi! Just wondering if there are any December 2013 or January 2014 sleevers that live in Northern California in the Bay Area (East Bay Side)?

    Deciding on MD; HealthNet HMO

Hi, Just wondering if you chose Ajay Upadhyay? That is the surgeon that I am going to use and I have read pretty good things about him.
  6. I agree! I was so excited in the beginning and now that I am so nervous about the approval it really set my momentum back. I just won't be excited until I get that approval paper. It's always something with these insurance companies. It would be nice to go into 2014 in either recovery from surgery or an approval .

    Check List !

Hi Everyone! Here is the forum for what you will need before and after! Good Luck!!! http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/181994-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/
  8. I started my 6 month requirement in June. My last weigh-in is December 5th. I am hoping that my surgery will be scheduled in December but, right now I am just hoping for an approval. This 6 month time frame has really helped me find a healthy way to eat and wean myself from all the junk food. I have gone through numerous Protein shakes and finally found one that doesn't make me sick. I know that will change after the surgery but I will take it for now. Good luck with your journey. You'll be better prepared at the end of the 6 months.

    What To Pack...

Hi! There is a whole forum for this. I examine it daily to make sure I have everything ready . http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/181994-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/

Hey Guys I Need Some Advice....

Hi! I agree, he may be uninformed about the reasons that you have decided (or are deciding) to have this surgery. Maybe he also has insecurities? Maybe he fears that you will lose the weight and leave him. As much as we hope that relationships will remain, in reality (whether you are married or not) they do not weather the storm. This surgery is not only a physical but a mental storm. I wish you luck with your gastric journey. And just like others have said, you are doing this for yourself and most importantly for your health. You don't want to look back years from now and have any regrets for living your life for someone else.

Hoping for the middle/end of December 2013.

    Insurenutrition.com

Just wondering.....Did you read about it on a post on here? I saw the post also and have bookmarked the site. I was wondering if anyone has applied and received a response back. I was a little skeptical about it. Please post and let me know what the outcome is. Those premier Protein shakes are not cheap ($26 at costco for only 20 cartons) I would love to have my insurance pay for it .

    So... What Are My Chances?

I started my requirements in June. I specifically asked my surgeon if he would be around during the holidays. He said he wasn't planning to be off (this was two months ago). I told him I really needed to schedule during the month of December since I work in education and we are off during the last two weeks. Unfortunately for me it all comes down to the insurance approval. My final weigh in is December 5th. I was told approvals are running 5-15 days UHG! My surgeon will not even pencil me in until I have the approval. So frustrating! I've actually even stayed away from this site because I don't want to be so disappointed if my approval doesn't come through.

    Sleeve

Are you experiencing any pain? How long did you have to stay in the hospital?
  15. Great question. I sleep on my stomach and I lay on the floor to watch TV. I can't sit on my butt, it has never been comfortable (even in a movie theatre I sit on my side). This will be interesting if I get approved for the surgery. I may have to borrow my son's gaming chair for a couple of days but, I don't think that will work out very well.

    Just Checking In

Hi! It sounds like you have gone through ALOT in the last 3 months. I agree with you. Don't put on the added stress of owning a scale. If you are happy with your progress and your clothes are fitting a lot more losely you are doing great! It's no wonder that eating is not on the top of your list! You are stressed! My doctor just told me make sure I am staying hydrated after surgery...that's most important. Hopefully with the end of the year coming up you will be able to get a good deal on another car! Good luck, hopefully everything works out in your favor. I haven't had my surgery yet. I am hoping to get approved next month (fingers crossed).
  17. Final weigh in December 5th. Then submit for insurance approval! NERVOUS!!

Man, I Just Can't Wait To Have Surgery!

Good luck! I have one more weigh in and hopefully I will get an approval also. Waiting is the worse! Especially when you have to buy clothes and you are miserable doing it! Good luck to you! Hopefully you get some good news soon! Waiting SUCKS!

    6 months doc diet.....start!

The 100lbs is after the WLS.......I only need to lose 10lbs.
  20. I also have a 6 month requirement. I started in June and my last weigh-in is December 6th. After my last appointment the coordinator will submit the paperwork for approval. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    My Sob Story

That is heartbreaking! Is there anyway he can stay with your brother or your brother come down here? Waiting for someone to come out of surgery is always the hardest most frustrating time. Someone should keep him company. I wish you all the best during your surgery.

    Northern California Sleevers?

I'm thinking it will be ok. It just doesn't look promising for December. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. Last 6 month weigh in is December 5th....then off for approval.
