    Nauseous after eating?

Ohhh yes! I sure did. I was nauseous around week 3. I actually couldn't hold anything down. oatmeal, applesauce, smell of broth, it all came back up. My doctor made me go back to liquids, but she also suggested it could be a need for B12 or B1. I started taking my B12 right after that appointment and I started to feel a huge change. I didn't want to start the B1 until labs came back, and I found out today that I need to take some B1, it's very low. My tests also showed my B12 was low (but on the normal side). This may or may not be what's happening with you, but just thought I would throw it out there. Maybe you can run it by it doctor? I need to go buy some B1 tomorrow...

    Pre-Op requirements.

    Not here in California.
  3. Can you do smoothies? Blended fruit w/ Protein powders. Those saved me because I basically went through the pureed stage with liquids. I couldn't stand anything pureed. I know what you mean about the broths. I have cans of them in my cabinet. I have no craving to use them at all. I think the liquid stage has tainted births for me haha.

    Pre-Op requirements.

Hi, My pre-op waiting period was 6 months. It's detailed on my signature line. At first I was upset with the wait time, but during that time I was able to really prepare myself for the surgery.

    I'm Starving!

I hear you! My first week was no cake walk either. Now five weeks out, aside from the feeling of being full after two bites, I don't feel like I've been sleeved at all. Every time I saw a "it will get better" post, I wanted to claw my eyes out . Little by little you will get the hang of your sleeve. Everyone moves forward at their own pace, you'll do great! Congrats on your new sleeve!

    Nausea 18 Days Post Op

Hi, Has your doctor advised you to take any B12 or B1? I was so nauseous I couldn't keep anything down. My doctor did labs and notice my B1 was low and my B12 was on the lower normal side. I started taking them and after awhile I felt so much better. Just a suggestion.......it worked for me . I can't tolerate the Protein shakes anymore either. They just don't sit well with me.
  7. I was sleeved Jan 7th, I was cleared to work out Feb 3rd. I have been going to the gym 3 days a week since then (lifting weights, doing the stair master). My doctor just told me to go easy at first, especially with anything to do with my core. I feel great now, aside from not being able to eat much I don't even feel like I've been sleeved. If you contact your doctor I'm sure they will give you the time frame on when they want you to start working out I'm sure. Happy cardio!

What kind of foods are you eating?

" Specially Yellow chicken Curry "........OMG! That sounds sooooooo delicious right now. YUM!

    miltivitamins

My doctor had me start on chewable vitamins one week after surgery. I'm still taking chewable. I'm not complaining they taste like candy. I'm gonna miss them when I go back to tablets .

    Learned the hard way :(

I make them. Frozen fruits, bananas, ice and a little OJ. I have given up all Pasta, rice, mashed potatoes (which kills me to do because I love them), sugars & sweets, so I'm drinking my smoothies and loving every minute. Lol. I haven't made a trip to Jamba juice yet, but it sure does sound good!!!

    Sorry. ..must bring it up!

Over the weekend I had the most horrible "situation". I have never been that constipated in my LIFE. I literally could not pass it. I went and purchased some Optifiber from costco and took some Milk of Magnesium (yes at the same time). That was the worst experience. I had to reduce my breathing to labor breaths to finally pass it......ridiculous. Believe me when I say "I feel your pain." I do not want to relive that in any way! I need results daily lol.

    Learned the hard way :(

Man I wanted something smooth too but was so afraid to put anything in me I hear you! I have learned a smoothie is my "go to food", I haven't gotten sick from them "yet", and I hope it stays that way! My mind is so ready to eat soft foods, my stomach is the exact opposite. I feel like it wants me on liquids forever lol. Fruit smoothies and yogurt (and my mind is so tired of yogurt haha). If I see another premier Protein shake its going to make an appearance too. I just finished the box.....I won't be buying another for a LONG time! Sorry you had to go through that, hopefully the next time won't be as memorable .
  13. OMG Ana! Didn't you have a feeding tube removed not to long ago?

    Learned the hard way :(

I tried some canned green Beans today, green beans!!! And it made a guest appearance in 5 seconds flat!!! So I had a smoothie, ooooh did it taste delicious after that horrid experience! Just when you think you're ready......bam!

    Venting

I can completely relate to what you are feeling. I still have to cook for my son (16 year old, 6 foot, football player) who eats like a monster. I try my best to make healthier choices for him also, but regardless of what I am cooking is torture because I have to put it all together, smell it and suffer through it. I am only 4 weeks out and just started soft foods, but just because I started soft foods definitely doesn't mean I can eat it. I've learned my lesson with eating sooner than I am ready.....it is not pretty. Try to do something (anything) to distract yourself. You wouldn't believe how organized my closet and dresser is . Good luck to you, you will do great! This will show you how much will power you actually have!!

    Going back to work?

14 hours on a pic line? How do you make it all day if you can't drink anything? Plus you are chasing around little people all day (I chase around high schoolers, they don't do much running haha).

    Going back to work?

Wow. That does sound painful. My doctor originally sent me back on modified work (part time), but it only lasted one day. It just got too crazy. You're not a wimp at all. Once you get back into the grind again, it will feel normal.

    Going back to work?

Hi, I had my surgery Jan 7th, and I went back to work Jan 28th. I took the extra time to make sure I was healed and ready. I was tired the first week back (I work at a school), but it was fine. Just remember to pack your food and liquids. I get so busy at work I forget to eat/drink...not good. So easy to get dehydrated. I found it easier than being at home though.....I love my job, I was bored out of my mind at home. Good luck during your 1st week back at work. Do you feel ready?

    Pain

It could be. At first it was difficult for me to drink post op. Anything cold didn't sit well in my stomach and i felt a little ache. Have you tried drinking something warm? Tea or anything like that? Sometimes it just takes a couple of days to get used to the liquids. Of course if the pain gets worse you should call your doctor.

Went kayaking! I challenge you to a sport!

Hi, that is amazing! It must have felt exilerating out in the open water! No cares in the world!!!! I accept your challenge!!!! Myself and a few friends registered for a 5K obstacle course challenge in August. I am soooo excited. I have started going to the gym and working out to prepare myself. There would have been NO WAY I could have done this a few months ago! Thank goodness for the sleeve!!!! It's all about the fun though. I can't wait!!!!! I included the link below. http://rocrace.com/bayarea/

    Having problems with liquid

You are doing great, no worries!!!
  22. It's refreshing to read about the struggles of others. I'm only 4 weeks out, but the liquids were killing me. I could only have Protein shakes and Water. I couldn't stand anything else, but damn I was HUNGRY! I couldn't do pureed foods, so I was stuck on liquids. Now I'm on soft foods, and I am surprised how little fills me up too. It is great, but I have a feeling I will also be fighting to get off these pounds. My body is going to make me work for it. And working for it I am (gym three days a week). Whoever says this surgery is the easy way out needs to walk a few weeks in our shoes! I went to a staff meeting today, on the table dozens of chocolate chip Cookies. WTH!!! Seriously? I had my hot tea and water...No cookie, don't think I wasn't pissed though .
  23. I second what your Mother said! It doesn't matter what people think, and you don't owe it to anyone to tell them unless YOU want to . Congratulations on taking the first step. Unfortunately, you will have to take Vitamins (I was told forever, I don't know what other doctors say), but hey it's not so bad. I will take that over a life of obesity. I am 4 weeks out. I can't say it's been a walk in the park, but it is turning out to be great. Congratulations with your decision! I think it's one of the best I have made so far. Oh, and about the YouTube videos....I never could watch those, I just can't "stomach it" haha. Chin up! You can quit the ciggs! I'm sure your doctor can prescribe you something you help with the cravings, way to go!!!

2 months out and looking for buddy

I'm always looking for a fitness buddy to keep me on my toes! I'm only 4 weeks out though. I'm still new to this, but I'm tracking on my fitness pal too. So if you are interested message me .

    How much protein

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Maybe it's time for a cute shorter look? I've been contemplating that for myself. I don't know if I can handle the clumps. I have really thick hair, so all that means is it will come out in thicker clumps!
