Lump from my throat to my chest to my stomach...and back again.
keglenne replied to FatToFabulous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After this procedure everything you probably eat will cause air buildup in your gut. Make sure to walk walk and walk. This will move the gas and also taking chewables gas x should give you some relief. If not contact your physician. -
Im having a hard time. Need some encouragement
keglenne replied to birdmadgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to feel bad. You are gonna look so awesome and be a more healthier you. Look at this as such an accomplishment. As far as hanging out with people with food this is one of the reasons why we are in this position now. We as a culture normally engage in food when everyone is together. Get in the mode of restructuring yourself. This phase of going from liquid to soft foods is hard. But you can do it. If you have to disassociate yourself from the crowd right now its ok. This is something you are trying to do for you. You can do it but its gonna take discipline. There should be a list of support groups including this forum that you can contact for support. In due time you will be able to eat with your friends while making better food choices so that you can stay healthy and looking awesome. Just keep going and try your best to make this thing work. This forum is here for you. You can do this. God bless -
Rocsi im sorry that happened to you i know you were scared. Sometimes with drugs some people have to be given a little bit more of the drug for it to be effective. Like when i go to the dentist i always have to be given more anesthia than the dentist normally gives. Im so sorry you was not in a position to say anything. Use this as a learning tool and make sure to share your experience with the physician. Also you need to find out what drug(anesthia) was used. In the future for anymore surgical procedures they can use something else. There are so many other drugs in that class they can use. Im glad you posted. This is good info for people to share with their DR. Good luck and keep on moving. Take your pain medicine and lets loose some weight. You can do this. God bless.

keglenne replied to Bethzy143's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my surgery on 9/25/13. Im a doing pretty good. First day rough feels like i was hit by an 18 wheeler. Each day gets better. The best thing you can do for yourself is to walk walk and walk. This gets everything functioning again and take as many sips of fluid as you can. Sugarfree. If u follow this i promise it will get you through those first few rough days. Any questions just ask. I dont mind sharing my experience. Glad we are here for each other. -
Post -Op time off work?
keglenne replied to IndigoChild's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Indigochild i would take off 6 weeks. I am a pharmacist and i work on the overnight. I do the tech and pharmacists job because its only me. My pharmacy is located adjacent to an emergency room. I told my doctor and he said he would take me off of work for 6 weeks. I stand on my feet 10 hours and more. So if i were you at least 6 weeks. You want your sleeve to fully heal before starting work again. You surely dont want to get back to work and start having issues as far as healing. This can set you back. So take some time off if you can. Congrats you are gonna do well. -
Congrats this is awesome so glad for you

Omg Omg Omg i got Approved
keglenne replied to Bethzy143's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Queene-Shelle glad to hear you got approved. I would stay in communication with the doctor's office on a date. Try not to worry about the month, i know you are ready to start this life changing event but you got approved thats awesome. I say this because look on the bright side some insurances dont cover this procedure and some people dont even get approved for this type of procedure and have to go through an appeal. So i would just keep calling to see when is the scheduled date and i cant wait to see the new you. You are gonna rock this thing so stay positive. GOD BLESS -

Starting to second guess myself
keglenne replied to janelle_vs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different no two people are the same. Having said that my point is just because you decided to go another route does not mean this is the best decision for someone else. Cancelling a surgery based on someone elses decision to get healthy is scary. This means that you were not doing this for you. I dont care what other people do in your household the decision should solely be based on you. If you can loose weight without surgery kuddos to you but for people that have to use surgery as a tool to help them because all other measures have been exausted kuddos to them also. No one should not be judged based on the route they took to become apart of a life changing event. So if you dont have anything supportive to say dont say nothing at all. SOMEPEOPLE GOT NERVES -
Hey TonyaA i have bc/bs too most out of pocket for me will be 2500 i already had a copay of 265.35 for the surgery. What is the most the insurance company say you will be paying out of pocket
