Just know that the weight is gonna come off and that you made the right decision to a healthier you. Long as you are making some type of progress give youself a pat on the back. BelindaK hit the nail on the head. My doctor says that our biggest problem with being overweight is portion size. From my own personal experience. This is true. We need to eat healthy this is true, but not all carbs are bad. Your body needs carbs also. You just have to define what is good for you versus whats bad. If you do eat carbs just know that you must exercise because even good carbs can have an impact on weight gain as far as calories

I'm doing too much and nobody cares!
keglenne replied to determined1103's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take a deep breath and relax. Right now house work and all the other stuff have to wait. I know you have to do for the baby but thats it. DONT get frustrated you can do this. Ask each and everyone specifically what it is you want them to do and why and if they dont do it there is nothing you can do about it. If the house is in a mess leave it. You dont want to bust your sleeve. You have to get some rest. Thats very important and stay hydrated. Mentally i know this situation is probably on your last nerve but you just had major surgery and you dont want complications simply because you did not do what you were suppose to do regarding home care for your sleeve. Do what you can take care of your little one and forget about the rest. You are gonna do just fine. Remember when you get frustrated take a deep breath and know that this is a positive step forward. Also remember to ask God for strength and patience. He will never leave you. Stay strong because you can do this because God got you. -
I have the same issue. My husband eats whatever and whenever he feels like it. This is the thing he has a totally different metabolism and genetic makeup than I do. Also he is comfortable with his weight but im not. So the way I look at it is this is my battle not anyone elses. I have to be in control of my own destiny. I have to make my own decisions on becoming a better me. Also this decision that I made to have the gastric sleeve done was solely my decision. I did this for me. So dont worry about your husband keep fighting till you are where you wana be. If you need support you have this forum and other support groups. Good luck God bless and lets loose some weight.:-)

After my two week visit my dr said to walk an hour. I had to actually make myself get on the treadmill probably a week and 1/2 later. Was just physically fatiqued. Doing much better now. I listen to some good downloads on my phone and get my bottled water and that hour passes by really fast.

I finally get it; I have to live without carbs.
keglenne replied to Cindy Martin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone's explanation of what carbs can do is so correct. I have been dealing with the carb thing for years. Im about three weeks out. I love my sleeve. I have tried meximelt from taco bell. It was good. Went down really well. But i felt really full. It was the doughy soft tortilla. I will probably have to eat little to none carbs for the rest of my life also. My nut told me that carbs are like crack cocaine and she said it just like that. You eat them and soon as your body breaks them down into sugar. You are hungry again and craving more and more. She said this is why you want to do protein first then your veggies carbs last. After filling up on your protein and veggies you really wont have alot of room for your carbs. Well she is correct. I really appreciate this forum because you guys keep me in check. Thanks alot -

keglenne replied to 2ndchanceadict's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is true what crickee said. Make sure you sit upright. It makes a difference. Im 3 weeks out and the same thing was happening to me. I ate tuna in the car and finally it went down without hurting. So poisture has alot to do with it.
