Worried about complications?
Italiancurves replied to IdahoGirl32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh.... I see what that is. It's a risk assessment. Well I tried it, but couldn't get the procedure type to register. Oh well. -

Hhmm.. Clip ins. Right... Not sleeping with them would be less taxing on our own e wishing hair. I will keep that in mind. Good idea, thanks. -

Worried about complications?
Italiancurves replied to IdahoGirl32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
While I apreciate your concern, and it's always good to educate yourself on pros and cons and risk factors... I myself have read all the complication stats I wanna read. I've come to the conclusion in life that EVERYTHING we do has risks, let alone surgery (all types). I am 100% committed to having the VSG surgery done in 5 wks so I'm not even going to read that link. I would recommend that you search for links Re: the dangers Nd risks associated with being obese! I'm hoping and praying for no complications... But whatever the outcome, I'm ready to do it and move forward with my life. Only you can decide what's right for you though. Best wishes! -

Worried about getting stuck at the border
Italiancurves posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi there, this is my first post. I am concerned that the only identification my husband has to get back into San Diego is his drivers licence and multiple bills with his name and California address. But his entire file full of important documents has gone missing. Getting his birth certificate from England will be rough. Getting his US military documents, also rough. 54 days Til surgery in Tijuana. For those who've come back through at San Diego border... Should we be concerned? Oh and we have our marriage license and I have my birth certificate and license and bills. What's the worst case scenario??? -

Lifting suitcase from mexico to home.
Italiancurves replied to tampa's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Make sure it's on wheels and DO NOT hesitate to ask people for help lifting it as needed! My doc says nothing heavier than a gallon of milk for first two weeks. -
Follow ups and Rx refills?
Italiancurves replied to magtart's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Wow, I better get a new PCP then b/c mine is super negative about my doing the procedure and going to Mexico. I figured I will opt to buy more pain meds there. My Docs package only covers 4 pain pills. Weird, but I'm hoping I won't need much. I prefer to be up walking than laying in bed anyways. And I figured I'd go to ER if anything goes wrong. But yeah, we need to get our follow up lab work. Oh I will probably just go to the same negative doc and prove that I made it home alive and show her how successful the surgery was. And hope that she's proffessional enough to do her job! It's true, we definetley need follow up care back home. -
Free wireless connections at the Marriott in TJ ?

Put your thinking caps on cos this is a doozy
Italiancurves replied to leslie1958's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Omg, I was thinking I was the only one. My surgery is still 5 weeks away and lately I'm finding that I really only want to eat protein, primarily liquid. Certain foods are making me nausios (that never happens) and wait... You'll love this... I'm even getting heartburn or acid reflux (haven't had that since my last pregnancy, 21 yrs ago). I was thinking I'm having sympathy pains for all the other ppl in the forum, lol. But as another poster said: it's our minds and body's changing... Getting ready for our new lives! Crazy, eh ? Good luck on your special day. -

Wireless signals in Tijuana - Tracfone or Page Plus
Italiancurves replied to leslie1958's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't have either of those phones but I'm lmao at the sarchasm. I have Sprint and have determined that my phone will be going into Airplane mode while in TJ to avoid outrageous fees the will be charged for any texts or calls, including incoming. I'm just hoping that my hospital and hotel have free wireless connections cuz I'm just going to "say no to cell phones" while in TJ. Good luck to you! -
Did your arthritus improve after being sleeved/ losing weight?
Italiancurves replied to Italiancurves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Very interesting responses. Serendipity happens...that's exactly what I'm hoping for. I really only have pain in a couple of fingers, definetley planning on going sugear free and glueten free post op...hoping my overall wellness improves. I hear that a lot of our pain and swelling is directly related to dietary intake. And of course less weight equals less pressure on the joints, so theoretically things should hopefully improve. Though apparently, not always the case. Be well, everyone! -
Awesome! Instead of eating candy you'll be making a possitive change for a better life! I will be driving to Mexico on Halloween day. My surgery is the following day. Wish u all the best. Happy second Birthday, on Halloween !

Wow that's GREAT. Dates are always more enjoyable when we feel good about ourselves. You have a lot to be proud of. Congrats! :-)
