Italiancurves replied to Italiancurves's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Lol. Read your post Tampa, did I eat the girl you met? Well I sometimes get pretty hungry, but I have yet to eat any people. And no I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm still 4 weeks pre op. good luck with your post op recovery and weight loss :-) -

Its ok to drink the water in Mexico?
Italiancurves posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It just occurred to me that despite many years of hearing about warnings to never drink the Water, eat the ice in Mexico... I haven't heard anybody talk about it on this forum? Is it that these hospitals and hotels that are designated for Medical Tourism have really good filtration systems? Or has anyone experienced any problems with say... The ice? I'm assuming the bottled water is fine. -

Anyone feel wierd not having all the preop appts when going to mexico?
Italiancurves replied to cpeycke's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Well, my doctor did an online evaluation of me before approval. I do not have any co morbidities so I'm not worried. However if I did, I might feel a bit under tested pre op. my understanding is that all those tests will take place on the morning prior to surgery and if there are any problems, the surgery is postponed. I actually prefer less fuss. But honestly, in the back of my mind... I'm thinking... Shouldn't we have had the tests here in the US before getting all the way to Mexico just to possibly get turned around? My doctor, louisianna Valenzuela has turned ppl away for being under 30 BMI and being anemic etc. seems like these things should have been determined beforehand. Oh well... Still I feel comfortable with the process, it'll be fine. -

How long did it take to get your PASSPORT CARD ?
Italiancurves replied to Italiancurves's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks everyone, 920 Amy, good to hear because we're really not going to have time to get my husbands passport in time. He drivers license and birth cert. that'll have to do! It's too bad that this Medical Tourism industry can't make it easier on us and just somehow validate a temp pass where we come over for surgery and leave 5 days later. Oh well... Wish us luck not getting stuck ! -

Flintstone complete skin reaction?
Italiancurves replied to gomekast's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Wow, interesting because most people take 2-4 per day. I just checked my toungue and it's not white. White can often mean "thrush" yeast infection. Which may not even be related to the vitamin. Can u ask your doctor or nurse? -

Would it be a bad idea if my support person was my 13 yr old son?
Italiancurves replied to atlchick's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Personally, I wouldn't do it. One more thing (person) to have to worry about. Plenty of ppl go alone. Let him be your special helper when u get home! Best wishes. -

Italiancurves replied to Italiancurves's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Yes, lots of people to without passport. My husbands coworker just went over and came back with nothing but his drivers license. I guess it depends on who's working the border at the time. Some guards are stricter than others. -
Weave/ hair extensions for hair loss?
Italiancurves posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just wondering if anyone's tried getting volume weaves into their thinning hair? And my only concern would be that perhaps the weight of the extra hair would somehow cause more hair to fall out? I'm still 5 weeks pre op but the hair falling out thing is something I want to have pro active solutions for. I keep hearing ppl say that even taking Biotene... They still lost hair. I'm not a wig person, but I'm also not a bald person... So what do y'all think? To weave or not to weave... That is the question! (Hair weaving is where hair that is purchased thru salon or beauty supply store is basically sewed into your own hair close to the scalp) you can go thicker, or longer (extensions) or both. -
Clear Protein shakes
Italiancurves replied to AbsoluteEnvy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure... Comes in many flavors, is clear, 160 cals, 40 grams Protein costs around $5 per 20 oz bottle. NEW WEIGH...I've seen it in watermelon and fruit punch found at Walmart for about $2.50 a vial. Less cals and 42 grams protein but I cannot drink this straight, I pore it into an empty ISOPURE bottle and top of with cold Water. unjury...clear Protein powder u can mix into anything. Broths, juice etc. and once u start back on food you can add a scoop to just about anything. Go to www.unjury.com to order sample packs. Best wishes... -
Cheated on my preopp diet
Italiancurves replied to chass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just get right back on track! Don't allow that to happen again so you won't feel so bad. Maybe u should. Intact the do. And see if u should do a laxative or colon cleanse to get rid of the solids?
