post operative surgery meal
Italiancurves replied to marcher40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm hoping to not eat bread, pasta or rice. I figure that's what got me to this point and size. Lots of other delicious things to eat that are far more nutritious. But I have seen many people post that they eat that post op at some point and time. Personal choice. -
Last Supper
Italiancurves replied to MouseOnTheMile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can totally relate. Food is such a huge part of the way we love each other in Italian Culture. Especially with our elders. It's a well known fact that u don't want to decline the offer of food from an Italian Nonna! So enjoy the family meal and explain that in the future it's going to be a much smaller portion for you. I can just hear my Nonna now... Mangia! Mangia! What's a matter for you, you gotta mangia! Ciao... Best wishes! -

Pre op diet?
Italiancurves replied to sleeveforkayla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kayla, your diet is identical to mine. Are you being sleeved in Mexico? Who's your doc? I want to know... What exactly we can have in the salad? Is it just green veggies? -
Is anyone able to eat chicken & grapes post op?
Italiancurves replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't stand dry chicken (even being pre op) so I tend to make a high protein sauce of puréed garbonzos with garlic, lemon, peanut butter and water blended to the consistency you like. Heated up poured over the chicken... Makes it so soft and moist. This can also be done with yogurt and dill over fish etc. and crock pot chicken is super tender as well. I'd just be careful with grilled chicken as it can get dry. -
November buddies where are you?

Why aren't I happy with the weight loss?
Italiancurves replied to EarthyGoalie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Go to your local butcher and ask him to give you a ONE POUND bag of chicken or beef fat. Keep that in your freezer, for motivation and inspiration. Every single pound that we lose is a victory! It seems slow... But it takes the body some time to lose weight safely. Apreciate every pound! You're doing GREAT !!! -
Constipation means you cannot have a bowel movement. It doesn't really cause pain. Sounds like you have gas pains. Can u go on a walk and take some gas strips?

BMI 35 and insurance approved? ?
Italiancurves replied to ReadyNewM3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was approved at 37 BMI and am now @ 35 BMI. (20 days pre op) I'm self pay but my doc approves if u have 30 BMI or higher. I don't really have any co- morbidities (slightly high cholesterol which will come down with the weightloss). So excited about becoming sleeved! Good luck to everyone! -
Ok so I understand that week one post op is CLEAR liquid ONLY. 600 cals/ 60-90 grams Protein? Week two is full liquids? So we can now drink Protein shakes and thin puréed Soups and anything you can drink through a straw (but don't actually use a straw) right? Week three is puréed? So.... What? Like the consistency of baby food? Week four and five is where it gets very confusing in the paperwork they emailed me. Please tell me what you ate weeks four and five maybe even six... Thankyou so much ! :-)

Someone mentioned it here and I can't find that post. She said she bought one in TJ and it helped her back out of TJ faster. Anyone know where we get these? At hotel?

FUSTERATED..........(:
Italiancurves replied to brenda ziranda's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Carbs! I am already training my mind and body (pre op) to avoid carbs which convert to sugar. Protein first! -
Whenever I get, as you say "stuck". Imprefer to think of it as my new normal (which is lower than my previously higher normal). Which I know is just my body stopping to take a breath and rest. Weight loss is stress on our system. Our body wants to feel stabalized. However when I'm ready to push forward and resume weightloss I do something different. Lower caloric intake, increase exercise, water, take a colonic cleanse tea... Something quite extreme. Like for instance... I'm still 20 days pre op and have been on 1200 cal diet. Hit a plateue stuck at 218 for a week. Have been on 800 cals for last two days... Now finally down to 216. To to www.resetmypouch.com. Helps jump start a weight loss stall. Recommended by many VSG veterans. Good luck !

Pre-Op Diet
Italiancurves replied to sleeveforkayla's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Good point Arts! And they say it takes 21 days to break or form a new habit. So if I just suck it up now and get through the rough part, maybe post op would be so bad. -

Pre-Op Diet
Italiancurves replied to sleeveforkayla's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My pre op diet is the 2-3 protein shakes and a lean protein with green salad per day. My 14 days is still like 9 days out but I'm ready to get started early. I'm going to start tomorrow. Want to get through the sugar/ carb detox ASAP. Want to get as much weight off as possible pre-op. going to start my 30 min of walking early too. No time like the present. Gotta git r done! Oh and my doc recommends a Metamucil or benefited capsule a day on pre op to combat hunger. We shall see... -
getting sleeved on 11/4.. how did your hometown dr. react to you getting sleeved in Mexico?
Italiancurves replied to nomorecupcakes's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Mine was super negative about the surgery and Mexico. I will be changing doctors but I'm going to wait Til post op so at least we can bypass the negativity about Mexico. -
