Lap band removed to have sleeve

Just had my lap band removed after getting a leak. Had lost 103 pounds since March 2006 and kept it off for 6 1/2 years. Gained back 60 pounds in 10 months Doc suggested the sleeve because I had been successful with a restricted device. I was never told I wouldn't wake up with the sleeve completed. The day of my surgery he did another lap band / sleeve without problems. They also repaired a small hiatal hernia too. I'm 12 days post-op and still a bit soar and recovering slower than the lap band, but the doc reminded me that they did more this time. Hopefully you will wake up with the sleeve done, if not hopefully you get it before your ins. ded expires. Best of luck!
  2. I was sleeved on August 27th and have noticed I'll sit at a weight for a few days and then loose a couple pounds. At first I was full of the I.V. fluids they had pumped in me during my hospital stay. 7 days out I lost 5 pounds. Hang in there. My nutritionist said to expect 1-2 pounds a week, any more might be too much too soon. So, if we loose 2 pounds a week in one year we'll be down over 100 pounds. I'd be at my goal weight, how about you?

    August 27th anyone!

Hi Fellow August 27th Sleevers! Tuesday I will begin puree foods. I tease my husband that I'm setting the alarm for 12:01 am. I'm a little worried what it will feel like and how will I know if I'm eating too much before I hurt or vomit. I know I'll take it a tiny spoon at a time and make sure the food is pureed. At this point I'm unable to get the 64 ounces in me because I feel full most of the time. My doctor said the 64 ounces is a goal and not to worry just to keep working toward it. My appetite is almost non existent except for the 8th day when I was dealing with some personal problems and I didn't have my friend "food" to numb the feelings. I cried and cried and cried. Since then I feel better and realize I should seek a good therapist to help me through my journey. I'm going to get my staples removed on Tuesday and will ask at the office names of therapists that specialize in eating disorders. Let me know how you've been doing and I wish everyone the best outcome possible.
