Oh love...don't fret, God didn't put any of us here to be miserable or fat, this society is what should be changed, EVERYTHING revolves around food...holidays, birthdays, business meetings, work meetings, dates, meet & greets...EVERYTHING is about food..it's not your fault and this is going to help you. First off..NOBODY in your doctors office should be pissy...really? How unprofessional and insisitive is that? I would tell my doctor on those ******'s..Youi are going to need people to be nice to you during this process, it can be scary, and crazy and long and more scary. May I ask what city and state you're in? And hang in there sweety..

Try not to lose it, sometimes it's because your packet has to rearranged and put in a special order for insurance, you want them to have everything precise because insurance already looks for stupid reasons to deny..and you don't want the fact that it was organized in their specific way to be the reason. Also as much as we feel like it, we aren't the only poor souls dying to get this done, there is high demand so offices are drowning in paper work and submissions, or it could be that they are waiting on certain dictated notes from psych..or another doctor to complete your package. Either way.. I feel your frustration because I just got approved last Thurday, just got my letter from insurance today and I don't have my date yet because I have to have 2 procedures at once, and guess when I started this process??? In January!!!!!' I am so friggin over it!!!! Lol! So breathe...be proactive & persistent without being mean (it makes ppl want to help), and whatever you do..hope for the best and prepare for the worst..I was denied 1week before my original surgery date and I was devastated beyond measure..you don't want that. I am rooting for you. Prayers up!!! Hang in there...

So I was approved for surgery on Thursday Sept 5th, I'm just waiting for my date from my surgeon(s). I have to have another surgery while my sleeve is done. Therefore there will be 2 surgeons at once. I have a large Benign mass in my belly that has to come out as well because it is causing problems and pain. This is going to make my surgery long and more invasive so I'm a little more afraid than most I think. The hardest part is I've told my family and friends about the mass surgery but not my VS..only my very best friend and daughter know and they both live out if town. I am very very private about the VS because I just don't want to hear any negative talk, my mom has been against it for years and she won't understand. So now I'm going to have to drill my surgeons on not giving them full disclosure if my condition. SMH.,I know crazy right? But can a girl have some privacy and make her own choices? I am so tired of the sleep apnea, joint pain and taking high blood pressure pills. Not to mention having to energy to do anything. I'm excited about my surgery...yes a little scared but so in love with a new life and second chance to take care of my body. Anyone have to have multiple surgeries at the same time...? Thanks MsK

Good for you!!! I'm still waiting on my date but I'm hoping to have it by today. At least your process was fast..it took me months to jump through all those hoops AND get approved by insurance. I've been at it since January. I'm ready! Good luck and good for you!!!

Nadoue Thanks....I needed to hear that because I actually told them about the removal of the cyst which is serious and added a little more drama to compensate for how sensitive my belly will be...But in no way am I telling ANY of them about the Sleeve....nope, I don't need the negativity. But I was feeling guilty at first...my mom may be flying in to support me and I started feeling guilty for not telling the ENTIRE tale...but you know what, its nobody's business....its just not. i am so glad i have this site...it really is a huge support system..

I am sorry you're having such a hard time, I think they get overwhelmed, I never knew so many ppl were having surgery. In my office, the coordinator, and billing & insurance specialist are 2 different ppl. Maybe you should attempt to get someone else on the phone if its a large practice.

Well I had to push but be sure they are dragging because they are and not for good reason. My doctor wanted me to lose some weight (to show insurance I was serious) and log my meals as well so that insurance wouldn't continue to give us a hard time, I'm finding that depending on insurance they are really denying people lately. I called & emailed my coordinator until we had an open line of communication and she included me in every process...but it's because I was nice..I expressed my frustration but calmly and sincerely..she was very compassionate. Remember you catch more B's with honey.

Sharika you go girl!!! That's inspiring..I'm more nervous because where the mass is I have to be cut..laparoscopic would have been great but the mass is hiding. That pain from the cutting is my scare. But I'm praying its not so bad.

Yes I know i will have explaining to so...I've already prepared them for my weight loss telling them that this complicated tummy surgery will cause it..Lol! I know I should laugh but my family is a trip so I have to have all of my bases covered. As for you my friend that had the large mass in your belly..God Bless you, mine is deep in there behind my bowel so my surgery could take 5 hours easy. That part is scary but I know The Lord has my back.

I so agree with all of you, thank you so much for your feed back. I am always so open and honest about things, so I was feeling guilty, but you're right it's nobody's business but mine.
