I had bcbs hmo of il did 12 mths. supervised diets and visits they tried to deny me .I appealed it and the approved it . Mild sleep apnea high cholestrol joint pain. Don't give up !!!!!! Colleen

I would diffentaility appeal it, I did and got approved!!!! But I had bcbsf Il. It's worth a try.

Wow Tracy what an inspiration you have been to me. I was banded on April 11,08 but not new to lbt so I've see alot of your posts. Best of luck in your second year. I hope to have sucess like yours. Congrats!!!!!

I had my surgery @ St. James Olympia Fields by Dr. Cahill 4-11-08 so everything is going great, Tina the cordinator is great!!!!!

I also getting banded on Friday. I must be at the hospital at 5:00am. sharp. This is my second day of a liquid diet, a little hard I wish I could have soup chicken broth. My diet is supposed to be just 3 liquid isopure protien drinks. If I want I can have crystal light . That's it. Colleen -

Hi I also live in a suburb of Chicago, getting banded Fri. April 11th omg I'm getting nervous and excited. Have you got you approval from ins. yet? They can make it hard on people sometimes. I had to jump thru alot of hopes. Ater an appeal the are finally covering it. I'm very greatful for that. Tweety -
I have been denied twice with my bcbs hmo ins company. I even have been tested for sleep apena found out I have it they tell me to wait another 6 months and see if using a cpap machine helps me lose weight. Isn't that ridiculas.

I also would have had Dr. Cahill but got my denial for consulation for lap band yesterday. They said my 39 bmi high clesrtol arthritis and sleep apena aren't life threating enough This sucks after doing a year of dietition visits what a waist of my time.

Just got denial yesterday, after doing 12 months supervised dieting said my bmi is now a 38 so its not so life threating enough to have the surgery it stincks. -
