If I am drinking two protein shakes per day, is this counted in the 64 oz. of liquid?

Just wondering, for those that have had surgery, were you given antibiotics in the hospital, or given some to stave off infection when at home?

I recently had a procedure for pulmonary embolisms and the nurse told me, but I didn't realize it, that she gave me 5 shots of versed in my IV and I never went fully to sleep. Luckily the procedure didn't require major cutting. I am being sleeved on the 22nd and I definitely plan to share this with my surgeon and the anesthesia staff. Glad she felt comfortable enough to share here.

I'd anyone find it hard to break the habit of drinking with meals. I am trying this practice in anticipation of being sleeved Oct. 22. Maybe it will be easier when my stomach is really small.

Gear to see this thread. A couple of things that have been on my bucket list: Lose a. Minimum of 100 lbs. and keep it off. Go to a spa and not worry about the masseuse measuring my fat. Wear an expensive pair of heels (aka "****" shoes) Wear a knit dress and not worry about lumps and bumps. Maybe meet Prince Charming and have a marvelous love affair. And, most of all, live out the rest of my life healthy and without pills.

Hi, I have Medicare and yes they are paying. They didn't approve paying for sleeves until Sept. 2012. Good luck. -
Because there seems to be a great difference among sleevers regarding gas pains after surgery, I am wondering if there is any correlation between a longer term liquid or clear liquid pre op and the severity of gas pains. Are they more severe if the patient just had clear liquids for the day before surgery? Just wondering. Being sleeved October 22.

I also have leg cramps at night when I am in bed. I take the Hyland Leg Cramp pills each evening and haven't had them since. They are a homeopathic remedy.

How many ounces are your protein shakes? Most that I find are 11 oz. do you drink the whole thing at one time? I am not sleeved yet but am in practice eating mode. -

No you will not need the .extra room! Remember when you didn't weigh what you way now and how you were comfortable in the airplane seat? Plus, seats are smaller than before. My sleeve is on Oct. 22. You brought up a great inspiration. -
