    Visiting austria ? Protien

I live in Greece and I can assure you that you can find the exact same products here as you do in the States. I'm sure if you can get them here you can get them in Germany and anywhere else in Europe. Sorry I can't recommend a particular brand because I've never used one - doctors in Europe don't recommend shakes but taking protein from food but they are available in pharmacies, health food stores and sports stores. Hope you have a nice trip.

I was going to the beach before at over 450 pounds - a little loose skin won't stop me. Still I will be looking into cosmetic surgery once I reach goal How much loose skin do you have? Not as much as I had anticipated considering how much weight has come off. It's only starting to show now this last month

    Pain?

That sounds like too much pain. Call your doctor only he can determine how serious that is. it could be something as simple as gas that happens quite a lot but still better be safe than sorry. Hope you feel better soon

    Surgery Tomorrow

Good luck tomorrow - you will be in my prayers tonight. As for the pain it varies from person to person but for most of us it's not very bad. Just the stitches pulling and itching but totally tolerable. Most people go home the next day. Me - I started off at a very high weight and I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time so I was in ICU for tive days and then another day in a ward but even so it was not bad at all and I was up and walking on the afternoon of day one. So I don;t think you need to worry much. Let us know how it went.

    Hunger is back

you already know what you need to do - listen to your dietician. I know it's not easy but think of all the great work you've done so far. Don't waste this opportunity.
  11. you`re very brave. I didn`t go to a restaurant until month four and then could only manage half a kid`s hamburger which took me an hour and a half to eat. Talk to your husband and let him know there are other things we can do besides eating when we go out. People who haven`t experienced it can`t know what we're feeling no matter how well meaning and understanding they may be
  12. this will happen from time to time. It`s nothing to worry about unless it becomes very frequent. You can eat again if you`re hungry but it probably happened because you ate too much or too quickly in the first place. I know the portions look tiny it needs some getting used to.
  13. not a very good idea so early on. as a general rule coffee is off limits for the first two months and sugar is a big no-no forever. But only your doctorcan give you answers particular to you in these matters
  14. for me it was very difficult. l really needed my family. but as you said everyone is different. you are choosing the harder road. it`s worth looking into professional help. most bariatric teams include a psycologist. mine does and she has been very helpful as has everyone on this forum. good luck and keep us posted on how you`re doing
  15. I imagine we all were like you - I know I was and that's what stopped me from having the surgery for so many years but in the end it;s all in our head. After the surgery you;ll still be able to occasionally enjoy your favourite foods - you just won't need so much. You don't really need large quantities to enjoy something. Anyway you will get so much out of the experience that you won't need food.
  16. only my best friend and my doctor know - oh, and everyone on this foroum

    I lost 5 wiener dogs!

I just upgraded to the entire encyclopedia Brittanica
  19. I started at 451 and now 5 months later I'm 347 and feeling so much better. I've had a few problems and some vommitting but it is totally worth it.
  20. i`ve never had protein shakes. doctors in greece don`t prescribe them and yet we survive. you can get all the protein you need from normal food. ask your nut to help you with this but generally if you eat lots of chicken, fish and yougurt you should be covered
  21. i felt exactly the same. regretted having the surgery eveey day for the first month. now i still get sick if i eat too fast but otherwise i feel great. it gets much better it just took me a long time to realise how ridiculously slowly have to eat. they really mean it - like 2-3 mins between bites. it takes half an hour to get through half a grilled cheese sandwich. hang in there

    Snacking

My doctor says I have to have a small snack every hour and a half to avoid a sudden drop in blood sugar. I usually have some nuts or a piece of low fat cheese.
  25. I have no idea about the chewing you really should ask your doctor. As for the skin you will have some extra (it really depends on you skin quality) but you are very young so if you do weight training and take lots of protein it shouldn't be too bad
