I plan on going to Mexico this year, or beginning of next. Have to renew my passport. I love all the positivity (is that a word) on this board !I just turned 60 in July. Have had life changes in the past 3 months that I didn't choose. Was notified in June that I was going to be downsized from my position as a sales consultant, after almost 29 years, effective 1 August, 2013.
July 19, my husband of 26 years, and the love of my life, had a massive heart attack in our living room. He died the next day. I am still reeling from that.
I have steadily gained about 5 pounds a year for the last 25 years or so, went from 103 to what I am now. I have dieted, exercised, gone to therapy, danced with Richard Simmons in my basement, etc and have lost and gained, lost and gained. I was working on getting approval for the sleeve when I was downsized. I still have insurance, but the insurance does not pay for weight loss surgery. I asked several times, but was turned down. Even with co-morbidities, diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholestrohl. I guess it is less expensive for them to pay for knee replacements, hip replacements, heart attack, etc, than to cover weight loss surgery.
I am self pay, and am going to Mexico on the 20th of January to be sleeved. I did renew my passport and just started my pre-op meal plan. Protein shakes and a salad with protein for dinner.
