I am a 46 year old mom, fiancé and self-proclaimed "saver of the world".
I have two adult daughters and a fiancé, all of whom bring me much joy. I am a full time Peer Counselor for the State of Nevada, a part-time property manager and my outside interests are to pretty much save the world, lol.
I advocate for people with mental illness, the homeless, am trained as a disaster "first responder" and I am an activist when it comes to our precious captive marine life.
I can break my life down pretty much into two quotes:
“Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have.†- Margaret Mead
"Without valleys there could be no peaks, without darkness there could be no light, without despair there could be no joy. Embrace them all for one cannot exist without the other". -my own
Having said all of this you now have an idea of who I am as a person. I do not consider myself an optimist because I do not see the cup as full or half-full, I am simply grateful to have a cup. I am a relatively happy person. I do things that are incredibly meaningful and I am surrounded by love so I truly feel blessed....But.....
I am carrying an extra 130 pounds on my petite little frame and along with that extra weight comes A LOT of unnecessary health issues and some major self esteem problems which is what has led me to the decision to have sleeve gastrectomy. Reading through comments on these forums and getting feedback has been very inspiring. So...Let's take a journey together. Shall we?
