I worked with my PCP on my six month diet. I was on 1500 calories per day, also eating low fat and high fiber. I also worked slowly up to getting 30 minutes of cardio five days per week.
I stayed on the diet with the exception of falling completely off the wagon approximately one day per month and for one entire month. Whoops!
I lost 28 lbs on the diet. If I hadn't had that horrible month, it would have been a lot more, as I gained 12 lbs during that one month. :o
I know the feeling. Those bad months/years is what got me into this problem lol.

I was put on a low carb diet..it was mostly based on Atkins. My nutritionist started me off at 40g of carbs a day...and then after 3 months she switched me to 20g of carbs. The diet was easy to follow..I was able to eat what I liked minus the bread and tortillas. I wasn't allowed to eat fruit or cereal..but it didn't really phase me..I was able to train my mind and lose a lot of weight. My starting weight was 305 I'm down to 231... best of luck to you!!! My surgery is this coming Tuesday!!!
Thanks so much. Good luck on your surgery! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

My insurance requires that I be on a supervised diet for the next 6 months. I'm okay with that, it gives me time to learn more and organize other parts of my life before the surgery.
But I'm curious on what kind of diets people were put on for those 6 months. How did it work? Was it hard for you?mdid you lose a lot of weight? Anything would be great!
Thanks!
Kim
