I live in Pocatello, work at ISU-so welcome to all Bengals!! I go to Blackfoot, to Dr Davis. He is really good. There is a place that does fills in Pocatello, but I haven't had a need to call them yet. Happy Holidays to all the Idaho bandsters! Nancy:thumbup:

I just had my lapband replaced 11/5/07 also. I was throwing up constantly from 10/31. My Dr was out of town, so that made things a little more difficult. I think I should have recognized that I wasn't able to eat the things I was normally able to eat. When soup became a problem I should have been smarter. I was in such pain that I didn't care if he removed or replaced the band. I am a little concerned that I wont handle the fills and such without worry in the future. I have the new bigger band, I think I will wait till Jan for a fill, and try to get through the liquid stage (which I think is harder the second time around).

Any way to make Slim Fast more palatable?
Nancy54 replied to munchkin392's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that the powdered Slim Fast was less disgusting. Then you could blend it with ice cubes too. Nancy -

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. I use the Dymatize Elite Rich Chocolate protein powder, but I add about 1 tbsp of Nesquick, and sometimes a tsp of caramel flavoring. The kind of flavoring you buy for coffee, but not the coffeemate, the clear liquid. I also blend with ice cubes. I maybe wrong, but I would rather doctor it up a little and drink it than not get the protein. Nancy54

I have been reading different forums and have felt very fortunate in my experiences so far. I only stayed overnight after surgery, no extra pain meds needed, only missed 2 days of work, didn't gain in the "post-surgery and can eat too much" stage, had a 1 cc fill and felt restriction. I lost 4.7 lbs the 2 weeks after the first fill. THEN the Dr and I discussed and decided on just a half cc fill on August 1st. Now I hurt with most everything I eat. I am trying to make good choices and chew and chew and wait between bites. The main things that don't hurt are mashed potatoes, Ensure/liquids, salmon, and very strangely a few peanut M & M's. I thought the band would loosen when I lost some weight, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I guess I just need to get input on if I should call or wait a couple more days. I have lost about 3 lbs this last week, but I feel good-except the lingering ache on my back after something gets a little stuck. I am drinking water and even found a whey protein powder that I like so dehydration is not a concern. So give me your opinion, please. Nancy54 :faint:
