199.8 YAH!!!! I'M FINALLY IN ONEDERLAND!!!! I was filled on Tuesday and that did the trick! Dropped 3 lbs being on liquids for 2 days. I LOVE THE BAND!!!!

A bit discouraged. I wanted to be in Onederland by Dec 19th, trip to see family, but I'm a bit stalled out @ the 206 - 208 range. I just had my first fill last week, but I know they say it may take a few fills before I really start to feel the restriction. I'll keep trying though. I have a week left.. go...go..go..go!! Congratulations to those that have made it. I'm so excited for you!

Congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you. Way to stick with it. Aetna hopes for people to quit, that's why they run them through the ringer, to save a buck. But they know this surgery is life saving. Good luck with your surgery on the 20th. YAH!!!! :clap2:

Congrats Jfran, that is AWESOME!!! Way to go M1hocker, almost there!! I'm steadily losing, down to 213. I really want to be to Onerderland by Dec 19th. Can't wait till I can exercise again and then hopefully I will really see some lbs fall off. GO ONEDERLAND COUNTDOWNERS!!!

Hi all, I was banded on the 19th and at the start of my lapband journey I weighed 243. Since then I've lost 21 lbs and I'm posting today at 222 and on the road to Onederland. I think I have an agressive goal of being there by Xmas. I have a trip to see family out of town and I want there jaws to drop. I'm glad there is a support team like this to help me get there. I know I'm losing a lot now because I'm barely eating anything, so here to the band and hoping it helps control my portions so I can get to Onderland soon. Goodnight all.

Evening October Banders, I was banded on 10/19 and everything went great!! I'm so thrilled with my doctor and everyone that helped me through surgery. The first 2 days for me were really rough, but now on day 6 I'm doing MUCH BETTER. Would love to be able to move on to mushies and such, but my doctor has a 2 week post op liquid diet. It's murder, shake, broth, applesauce, Jello, popsicle, shake, broth, applesauce, jello, popsicle, shake, broth... I want something different!!! The band is one of the greatest things in my life so far and I'm so glad I got it. I look forward to losing more weight and being able to have children. Goodnight all -

Hey October Banders, Found out this morning that my surgery has been postponed to the 19th. Only 1 day, so no big deal, but as if I wasn't nervous enough over the last few days, I now have one additional day to go. I just want to get this weightloss party started already!!! -

I'm not sure if I'm adding to this thread correctly, I'm new to this site, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents about Aetna. Please bare with me.... I too got discouraged reading some of the threads about Aetna and their approval of this surgery. But after 4 months of a pre surgery diet (Aetna requirement) and 2 months of review they have approved my surgery!!! Yes, they require everything under the sun; At least 2 Co-morbidies, 3 month pre op diet under direction of a doctor & a nutritionist simaltaneously, 5 yr weight history with a BMI at least 35, and current BMI at least 35. It took them a while to approve and they kept asking for more information. The last thing they asked for was the 5 year weight history. I only had documented 3 years. But they accept photos as support for undocumented weight. So with the help of my best friend, who had 2 dated photos (ssshhhh), I sent them and vuala, done. They also will accept a letter from you stating why you do not have the documented weight and what you think you were at the time. That's pretty trusting of them. My BMI was 38.5 when I submitted my paperwork. I'm so fortunate that my company's insurance policy has the Lapband coverage!! Good luck to all those who are on the insurance path to approval and good luck to those that are approved and are having the surgery!!

Hi, I'm Tammy and I'm new to this lap band site. I've glanced at some of the posts and threads and everyone is so supportive. I began my journey towards lap band on 3/6/07 with my first consultation appt and now, 4 months later, I think I have completed ALL that my insurance company needs to submit for approval!! So wish me luck all!! Good luck to all that are having their surgery and continued success to those that have been banded!
