Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC
jrrodriguez replied to Kindle's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi y'all. So I had VSG surgery with Dr. Elias Ortiz on 11/08/2013. My experience in Mexico, both at the hospital and the Marriott, were positive. I flew in from CA for same day surgery and I couldn't have asked for better care. I'm so happy to have my sleeve. I'm down 67 lbs today with 25 to go to goal. Dr. Ortiz is a quiet man, but he cares. I think y'all are making the right decision by choosing him, and A Lighter Me. They are an excellent company. Good luck and I hope to hear from y'all on the loser side. -

Hi Rosana. Congratulations on your weight loss. I don't get to the gym everyday but when I do, I do 30 minutes of cardio and 20-30 of either weights, ab exercises or lunges/squats. I need motivation some times too but once I'm there I feel so great. And even once I didn't recognize the girl in the mirror! Hang in there and stay positive. 72 lbs is great. Keep up the great work! -

Cassandra, I had surgery with Dr. Ortiz on Nov 8. I had a great experience with him, the nurses. Abraham, all of the folks at A Lighter Me! My hospital stay was uneventful and I've healed nicely. I wish you the best of luck in your recovery, weight loss journey and the road to your new life! -
Unexplained bruising

Thank you all for replying. All possible explanations make sense. -
Has anyone noticed unexplained bruising? I will be 4 months out this Friday and started noticing unexplained bruises on my arms about 2-3 weeks ago. I plan to email my doctor to see if I could be lacking something but wanted to check with y'all as well.

I was taking 5,000 mcg until about two weeks ago. I started taking 10,000 mcg then. I had VSG on 11/08/2013. Not sure yet if it's helping but I've noticed hair loss recently so I'm hoping it helps.

I had a victory yesterday. My surgery was Nov 8. I lost 10 lbs pre-op and as of yesterday I lost an additional 40lb so I'm at 50 lb total weight loss. I'm proud to say I weigh LESS than what my drivers license says. Everyone, keep up the great work!! -

Everyone's progress is so great! I'm at 9 weeks tomorrow and am down 30 lbs post op. I'm eating very little still, trying to get in my protein and water daily. I'd also love some recipe ideas! -

I'm so happy to hear everyone's progress. I am surprised how quickly time is flying. I too struggle with my water intake and getting in enough calories and protein but every day is a new beginning. I had surgery Nov 8. My HW was 232, SW was 222, CW is 198. Losing slowly but I'm losing and that's what counts. I hope to hear more success stories. Good luck y'all!
