    gallbladder

I had my sleeve surgery 8 months ago. I have lost 110 pounds. I started to have gallbladder issues and had to go in for surgery to have removed last month. I have heard other doctors take it out at the same time as sleeve. I have heard of a few that do the surgery's apart. I wish I had it out so I did not have to go into another surgery but really it was a quick surgery and I was in and out same day. Easy breasy. Hopefully they will take it out the same time as they do your sleeve. Good luck.
  8. You know I totally understand wanting one. I had my sleeve in July and 7 months later after losing 100 lbs I had gallbladder issues. I just had it removed on Feb 20th. I was so plugged up. I did not go to bathroom number 2 for 7 to 8 days. So misserable. So I would ask your doc if safe. I ended up getting off pain meds. They said it was a major blocker. Once I stopped and got on align (pro biotic) it was such a releaf. I have never had one but understand the wanting to feel the releaf.

    Slow losers

It is different for all. We are all different weight when we start. They say 1 year to 18 months depending on where you start. Some less. I am 18 pounds from goal and now that comes off slower now that I am 8 months. I am about half a pound or one pound at this point each week in loss. So I bet I will be at 1 year at goal this july.

    Anyone from Oregon?

Just wanted to say I'm from beaverton. Moved to Texas 2 years ago. I miss portland so much. I hope you had a quick and speedy recovery. I am 8 months and 18 pounds away from goal. Total loss 110 lbs.
  14. I had it prior to surgery and now mine is totally gone.
  15. Thanks for this. It has been a big concern of mine. I need to start this with my 9 year old son. I see very same issues as I had with him. I am being healthy yet I am letting him have these bad behaviors with food. I don't know why I am struggling. I think I hate the conflict so much I just let it continue. I need to make the rules and stick to them for his sake.
  16. SW 275 CW 165 GW 145 Doing well and feeling great. Down 110 lbs from surgary. Minor bump with gallstones too. Had to have surgary to remove 3 weeks ago. Only complaint I have is being gassy after gallbladder was removed! So 20 pounds from goal. Much slower now. I am happy if I go down 1 pound a week. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.
  17. If me no. I picked a doctor that was over 15 years bariatric surgery and all bariatric surgery not just sleve.

    what are your fears?

Mine was worying about not waking up or complication of the surgery. I have to say as much as I love this website I think if I had known about it may have been a bad thing for me. I know this is not how all others feel but for me I can be a huge worry wort. This was a hard battle for me. I read a lot about positive thinking and I weighed the pros versus the cons. I realized in the long run the pros won over the cons. At that time I decided that I knew enough and to put down the reading or I was going to drive myself crazy. I kept telling myself positive things and after awhile I stopped having the fear. Now here I am 8 months later and 108 ponds down. Keep those positive thoughts! You will do fine!
  21. Free spirit when you say your loosing your stomach what does that mean? 100 percent they are taking it out? I am so sorry you guys are going through this all. Sorry if it is a stupid question but how can you eat if there is no stomach? I have had a few complications but my heart just breaks for you guys. Like RJ said one day at a time and I will send positive vibes your way.

    Sleeve with reflux

My doc asked me upfront and I said yes I take prilosec 2 times a day. He then said some people have problems after sleeve with terrible reflux. He said he wanted to check me out first with the camera going down in your stomack. There was a large hi a tel hernia. He fixed it during my surgery. I have not had to take one pill or Evan a tum! I was cured!
  23. Yes stress is not fun. I had my surgery in July 2013. I too had similar issues. What I did find that after about 2 months I did become less stressed and my family and friends actually commented on it. My job is very stressful so several months later I found myself realizing that I was starting to be stressed again. I did a lot of thinking that I really liked not being stressed all the time with my job and decided to change my career after 18 years in my field. It is in the same line of work but less stress. I am now so happy and realized that the journey we all go through is not just the weight. I could not be happier! My sleeve has changed me in many ways. I hope things get better for you. Once you loose and start feeling healthy I think you will see the stress does clear up a tad. I wish you the best.
