I am a year out on July 11th. I was hungry right from the beginning. What you will find is it is a lot of head hunger. This will get easier the farther you are out. When you start eating more of the solid food you will see you will take 2 or 3 bites and be done. In the early days you do Soups and soft food. It is when you get to solid food you will see it is way easier to get full. I still have hunger. When I eat then about 2.5 hours to 3 hours I am ready to eat again but when I do I eat less than a cup of good Protein and veggies or a Protein shake or bar and I am done. It get's easier. Keep drinking the Water. It will help.

I was back at work after 3 weeks but was a little tired. After about 2.5 months I was full of energy. Your situation may be different due to the kidney stuff. Maybe he is taking that into consideration. If he is not a year seems like a long time. I was at the gym and lifting weights and doing cardio work out and I was fine.

If you are 6+ Months out from surgery....
awold0 replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Starting at 6 months I slowed. I think I was at around 80 pounds. I am now now at 117 pounds at almost a year on July 11th so it has been slower but I am almost to goal. -
Kids, they don't mean to be mean...

I totally understand. I was visiting a friend and her daughter was playing video bowling on Wii. We all started to play and you pick the character to represent yourself when you play. They had one that was a fat girl with dark hair. So she said you can be this one because you are fat. I wanted to die considering it was with 4 adults and 3 children. Flash a year later and I just visited that little girl in the Bay area last month. She did not know who I was. As much as it was so painful I know she did not mean it but man was that a day I will never forget. -

How often do you step on the scale?
awold0 replied to Guerml95's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Every Friday. I am a year out on July 11th. In the beginning I weighed myself once a month. I focused on what I needed to do and the scale freaked me out. The loss was bigger once a month and I was ok with that. Now I weigh every Friday. -
Hey Bariatric Pal, Any way to get more tickers? Not many to choose from and almost a year out would love to have more variety and change my ticker? Just curious. Thanks

Wow that is long. My doctor said 2 weeks. I bet everyone is different due to weight and other issues. I would talk to your doc and ask him why. Always stick to what your doc says's but no harm asking why others are two weeks and some are 4 weeks.

great job. It is a wonderful feeling! I have been stuck in a 12 for 3 months and just now dropped to a 10. What a feeling!! I feel so much smaller around my husband now. He is 6"4 and I am 5"7 and married for 20 years. So weird to be hugged by him and he can get his arms all the way around me. -
I keep mine at 60 or below. I am at 11.5 months and down 120 pounds. I eat good carbs not pasta and bread. Just veggies.

HELP Scared only lost 5lbs in a month.
awold0 replied to nesa83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing great. I am at almost 12 months this July 11th. I was at a standstill at 9.5 months. Kept plugging along and all of a sudden at 11.5 months dropped 5 pounds. Our bodies just adjust after loosing so much weight. Just following the program and you will see you will continue to loose. I'm 13 pounds from goal and may take me 6 months but I'm thrilled since I have lost over 100 pounds. -
Sounds like you have too much air presure. I would call the sleep lab and doc and get them to help you adjust it. It actually is locked and they are supposed to do it. I have heard others just recently going online and getting directions on how to unlock and do it yourself but I always took mine in. I am now 11 months out and down 120 pounds and don't use it anymore. As I was loosing the pressure had to be adjusted several times. Even when I was pre op and had first got the CPAP it had to be turned down due to so much pressure in my belly. So it can be fixed.

Difference in surgeons is like night and day

There is a reason why you wait to drink after eating. Please Google it or read on this forum. You are only a month out. You need to stay satisfied after eating. If you drink right away it flows down and your hungry quicker. It is about staying full and satisfied! This will be more difficult the farther you are out. -
Just a shout out to say I miss beaverton!!!! I am so home sick. I live in Texas now and to just hear you guys talk about 217 and beaverton makes me sad! I moved 2.5 years ago. I wish I was there with you guys.

I have not heard that but interesting. I'm 160 and wear a 12 in pants and 10 in dresses and med in shirt. I'm all over the map. I would love to be a solid 10 but I think my curvy hips keep me at 12. I am 15 pounds to goal but stuck there at 160 at 11 months out.

I have bcbs. You will be aproved with sleep apnea. That is why all wls doctors test for it. It is easiest way for approval. Talk to your doc about depression. Some insurance co take that as a negative. I have pmdd. It was not recomended to list as a co-morbity. Always go with what your doc recomends. They are the best advisors with the insurance companies.
