I was sleeved one year ago July 11th. I have to say I am one who has no issues with anything. Nothing bothers me. My mom says it is my German stomach. Lol. She is 86. I do stick to protien and veggies. I do no more than 60 carbs a day. Sometimes sweet things can make me fill icky for a bit. Like I will eat low carb ice cream if I'm craving a sweet or sugar free candy. I have really kicked my carb addiction. I also had to have my gallbladder removed due to rapid weight loss and nothing seems differant. Since I do low carb I still eat fat. It keeps me satisfied like cheese. I do totally stay away from anything fried. So I just wanted you to know nothing seems to bother me. Good luck with your surgery and what you choose.

Can you give us an idea of what you are eating? Are you eating solid protien or are you eating slider food. I find I can over eat with slider food. I am one year out and I always eat Protein first. I swear by it. If I eat anything else first than I can over eat. It is as simple as that. If you ate protein first like we are sapossed to do than really it makes it hard to eat slider after that. Just want to help you. If I am craving something I say first eat the protien. If I can eat after than I can. I usually can not. So that to me is the key!

I am 1 year out today! I'm 158 from 275. I have never dumped!! I have stuck to the program for 12 months. Maybe a couple of times had bread or a small cup of ice cream but really like maybe 3 times in a year. I never dumped. Also had to have gallbladder out 7 months post op due to rapid weight loss. Still super happy! Today is my 1 year and will post pics tomorrow. Love my sleeve!! It has changed my life in so many ways for the better!! Left my stressful job after 20 years and decided to go another avenue. Passed my state exams today and realized it is on my sleeve aniversary. How cool is that!!!!

It can but I heard less than 1 percent of patients. It has happen to others on this forum like RJ. Read her posts. -
My insurance said out patient too but what I was told by insurance company is if need to stay they cover that. So call insurance co. They will tell you. I was over night and left next day at noon. There was no way I could have gone home same day. I could not pee till next morning because of the anastysia (I think that is how you spell) . And the pain. My blood pressure was real high from the pain too. So they keep you till all is good. Check with insurance.

I stopped around 6 Months. I kept going back to lab to have adjusted to being lower. Then was no longer needing it. I must say my husband does not mind sleeping with Darth Vader anymore! -
Yes this is so normal. It took me about 3 months to really not feel tired. The first 2 months your body is healing and going through so many changes. It gets better.

Same here.

Man how I have mised your posts. I just read it to my husband. Just did not get it like I do. I told him if I had a million dollars I would track you down and make you write a book. As I sit in my fly infested Texas small town and strawberry margaritas (put in the fridge for 24 hours to DE fizz) I have a smile. Your back!!!

Wow you are amazing. It's post like these that keep me coming back after being a year post sleeve surgery. When I'm feeling a little down and then read your inspiring words it lifts me up. You go!!!#

Whats your "full" signal?
awold0 replied to knitlil09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 1 tear out on July 11th. In the beginning I was burping and hiccups. After one year out since I can eat more now I rely on measuring. I make sure to eat 3 to 4 OZ of protein and maybe .25 of a cup of veggies or cottage cheese. -
I had mine out at 7 months post sleeve. You would rather have it done now instead of being in hospital with emergency surgery. That is open surgery and more invasive. That takes weeks to recover. Having it out now would be in and out same day. I recovered in 3 to 4 days fyi. I too was horrified I had to go in for surgery again. It was super easy. Hope you feel better.

I waited about 6 months. I am almost 1 year out now. I'm trying to not drink due to empty calories but have a few with hubby on special days.

Oh my gosh look at you! So cool. You guys look great. What an inspiration you have been for all of us on this forum.

Yes it is true. In the beginning my son kept saying "mommy your breath eww" it goes away I swear!!
-
I have thick hair too. I colored my hair also during my fall out stage between 5 and 8 months. did fine. My years ( in the past) as a hair dresser, I learned that coloring the hair helps keep it conditioned believe it or not! Now bleaching no... that is harsh but good old color like over the counter is fine. I am 12 months out this July and all falling out has stopped and healthy as ever!

Sounds like your doing well. Keep up the good attitude. I know you will do great. The sleeve rocks!!

hair loss 5 months out. what to do
awold0 replied to gruiz27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 1 year out from sleeve on July 11th. My hair fell out a lot. It started around 5 months to 8 months. I swear it stops and comes back 10 fold! Don't sweat it just be kind to your hair. Try to let it air dry. Get a brush that is old fashioned. The bristles are soft. Less pulling on the hair. I tried to wash it only 2 times a week.
